Jeremiah 43

1 When Jeremiah finished speaking to the people all these words of the LORD, their God, with which the LORD had sent him to them,	1 Quando Geremia ebbe terminato di riferire a tutto il popolo tutte le parole del Signore, Dio loro, tutte quelle parole per le quali il Signore lo aveva inviato a loro,
2 Azariah, son of Hoshaiah, Johanan, son of Kareah, and all the insolent men shouted to Jeremiah: "You lie; it was not the LORD, our God, who sent you to tell us not to go to Egypt to settle.	2 Azaria, figlio di Osea, Giovanni, figlio di Kàreca, e tutti gli uomini insolenti andavano dicendo contro Geremia: "Tu stai dicendo menzogna! Non ti ha inviato il Signore, Dio nostro, a dire: "Non andate in Egitto per dimorarvi!",
3 It is Baruch, son of Neriah, who stirs you up against us, to hand us over to the Chaldeans to be killed or exiled to Babylon."	3 ma è Baruc, figlio di Neria, che ti incita contro di noi per consegnarci in mano dei Caldei, per farci morire e farci deportare in Babilonia".

9 Take with you large stones and sink them in mortar in the brickyard at the entrance to the royal building in Tahpanhes, while the men of Judah look on,	9 "Prenditi delle pietre grandi e nascondile nella malta, nel mattonato, all'ingresso della porta della casa del faraone in Tafni, alla presenza di alcuni Giudei.
10 and then say to them: Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: I will send for my servant Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and bring him here. 11 He shall come and strike the land of Egypt: with death, whoever is marked for death; with exile, everyone destined for exile; with the sword, all who are intended for the sword.	11 Verrà, infatti, e percuoterà il paese d'Egitto: chi per la morte alla morte chi per l'esilio all'esilio e chi per la spada alla spada!
12 He shall set fire to the temples of Egypt's gods, and burn the gods or carry them off. As a shepherd delouses his cloak, he shall delouse the land of Egypt and depart victorious.	12 Io farò accendere il fuoco nelle case degli dèi di Egitto: e li brucerà e li deporterà e spidocchierà il paese di Egitto come il pastore spidocchia il suo vestito; quindi uscirà di là tranquillamente.
13 He shall smash the obelisks of the temple of the sun in the land of Egypt and destroy with fire the temples of the Egyptian gods.	13 Frantumerà anche le stele della casa del Sole che è nel paese di Egitto e brucerà con il fuoco le case degli dèi di Egitto".
