Jonah 2

KING JAMES BIBLE	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish's belly,	1 El Señor hizo que un gran pez se tragara a Jonás, y este permaneció en el vientre el pez tres días y tres noches.
2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.	2 Entonces Jonás oró al Señor, su Dios, desde el vientre del pez,
3 For thou hadst cast me into the deep, in the midst of the seas; and the floods compassed me about: all thy billows and thy waves passed over me.	3 diciendo: «Desde mi angustia invoqué al Señor, y él me respondió; desde el seno del Abismo, pedí auxilio, y tú escuchaste mi voz.
4 Then I said, I am cast out of thy sight; yet I will look again toward thy holy temple.	4 Tú me arrojaste a lo más profundo, al medio del mar: la corriente me envolvía, ¡todos tus torrentes y tus olas pasaron sobre mí!
5 The waters compassed me about, even to the soul: the depth closed me round about, the weeds were wrapped about my head.	5 Entonces dije: He sido arrojado lejos de tus ojos, pero yo seguiré mirando hacia tu santo Templo.
6 I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O LORD my God.	6 Las aguas me rodeaban hasta la garganta y el Abismo me cercaba; las algas se enredaban en mi cabeza.
7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.	7 Yo bajé hasta las raíces de las montañas: sobre mí se cerraron para siempre los cerrojos de la tierra; pero tú me hiciste subir vivo de la Fosa, Señor, Dios mío.
8 They that observe lying vanities forsake their own mercy.	8 Cuando mi alma desfallecía, me acordé del Señor, y mi oración llegó hasta ti, hasta tu santo Templo.
9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.	9 Los que veneran ídolos vanos abandonan su fidelidad,
10 And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.	10 pero yo, en acción de gracias, te ofreceré sacrificios y cumpliré mis votos: ¡La salvación viene del Señor!».
	11 Entonces el Señor dio una orden al pez, y este arrojó a Jonás sobre la tierra firme.
