A psalm for Asaph. God hath stood in the congregation of gods: and being in the midst of them he judgeth gods.1 [Psalm Of Asaph] God takes his stand in the divine assembly, surrounded by the gods he givesjudgement.
How long will you judge unjustly: and accept the persons of the wicked?2 'How much longer wil you give unjust judgements and uphold the prestige of the wicked?
Judge for the needy and fatherless: do justice to the humble and the poor.3 Let the weak and the orphan have justice, be fair to the wretched and the destitute.Pause
Rescue the poor; and deliver the needy out of the hand of the sinner.4 'Rescue the weak and the needy, save them from the clutches of the wicked.
They have not known nor understood: they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth shall be moved.5 'Ignorant and uncomprehending, they wander in darkness, while the foundations of the world aretottering.
I have said: You are gods and all of you the sons of the most High.6 I had thought, "Are you gods, are al of you sons of the Most High?"
But you like men shall die: and shall fall like one of the princes.7 No! you wil die as human beings do, as one man, princes, you will fal .'
Arise, O God, judge thou the earth: for thou shalt inherit among all the nations.8 Arise, God, judge the world, for al nations belong to you.
