Prima lettera ai Corinzi 6

DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 ARDISCE alcun di voi, avendo qualche affare con un altro, chiamarlo in giudizio davanti agl’iniqui, e non davanti a’ santi?	1 Is one of you with a complaint against another so brazen as to seek judgement from sinners and notfrom God's holy people?
2 Non sapete voi che i santi giudicheranno il mondo? e se il mondo è giudicato per voi, siete voi indegni de’ minimi giudicii?	2 Do you not realise that the holy people of God are to be the judges of the world? And if the world is tobe judged by you, are you not competent for petty cases?
3 Non sapete voi che noi giudicheremo gli angeli? quanto più possiamo giudicar delle cose di questa vita?	3 Do you not realise that we shal be the judges of angels? - then quite certainly over matters of this life.
4 Dunque, se avete delle liti per cose di questa vita, fate seder per giudici quelli che nella chiesa sono i più dispregevoli.	4 But when you have matters of this life to be judged, you bring them before those who are of no accountin the Church!
5 Io lo dico per farvi vergogna. Così non vi è egli pur un savio fra voi, il qual possa dar giudicio fra l’uno de’ suoi fratelli e l’altro?	5 I say this to make you ashamed of yourselves. Can it real y be that it is impossible to find in thecommunity one sensible person capable of deciding questions between brothers,
6 Ma fratello con fratello litiga, e ciò davanti agl’infedeli.	6 and that this is why brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers?
7 Certo adunque già vi è del tutto del difetto in voi, in ciò che voi avete delle liti gli uni con gli altri; perchè non sofferite voi più tosto che torto vi sia fatto? perchè non vi lasciate più tosto far qualche danno?	7 No; it is a fault in you, by itself, that one of you should go to law against another at al : why do you notprefer to suffer injustice, why not prefer to be defrauded?
8 Ma voi fate torto, e danno; e ciò a’ fratelli	8 And here you are, doing the injustice and the defrauding, and to your own brothers.
9 Non sapete voi che gl’ingiusti non erederanno il regno di Dio? Non v’ingannate; nè i fornicatori, nè gl’idolatri, nè gli adulteri, nè i molli, nè quelli che usano co’ maschi;	9 Do you not realise that people who do evil wil never inherit the kingdom of God? Make no mistake --the sexual y immoral, idolaters, adulterers, the self-indulgent, sodomites,
10 nè i ladri, nè gli avari, nè gli ubbriachi, nè gli oltraggiosi, nè i rapaci, non erederanno il regno di Dio.	10 thieves, misers, drunkards, slanderers and swindlers, none of these wil inherit the kingdom of God.
11 Or tali eravate già alcuni; ma siete stati lavati, ma siete stati santificati, ma siete stati giustificati, nel nome del Signore Gesù, e per lo Spirito dell’Iddio nostro	11 Some of you used to be of that kind: but you have been washed clean, you have been sanctified, andyou have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and through the Spirit of our God.
12 OGNI cosa mi è lecita, ma ogni cosa non è utile; ogni cosa mi è lecita, ma non però sarò per cosa alcuna reso soggetto.	12 'For me everything is permissible'; maybe, but not everything does good. True, for me everything ispermissible, but I am determined not to be dominated by anything.
13 Le vivande son per il ventre, ed il ventre per le vivande; e Iddio distruggerà e quello, e queste; ma il corpo non è per la fornicazione, anzi per lo Signore, e il Signore per lo corpo.	13 Foods are for the stomach, and the stomach is for foods; and God wil destroy them both. But thebody is not for sexual immorality;
14 Or Iddio, come egli ha risuscitato il Signore, così ancora risusciterà noi, per la sua potenza.	14 it is for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body. God raised up the Lord and he will raise us up too by hispower.
15 Non sapete voi che i vostri corpi son membra di Cristo? torrò io adunque le membra di Cristo, e faronne membra d’una meretrice? Così non sia.	15 Do you not realise that your bodies are members of Christ's body; do you think one can take parts ofChrist's body and join them to the body of a prostitute? Out of the question!
16 Non sapete voi che chi si congiunge con una meretrice è uno stesso corpo con essa? perciocchè i due, dice il Signore, diverranno una stessa carne.	16 Or do you not realise that anyone who attaches himself to a prostitute is one body with her, since thetwo, as it is said, become one flesh.
17 Ma chi è congiunto col Signore è uno stesso spirito con lui.	17 But anyone who attaches himself to the Lord is one spirit with him.
18 Fuggite la fornicazione; ogni altro peccato che l’uomo commette è fuor del corpo; ma chi fornica, pecca contro al suo proprio corpo.	18 Keep away from sexual immorality. Al other sins that people may commit are done outside the body;but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.
19 Non sapete voi che il vostro corpo è tempio dello Spirito Santo ch’è in voi, il quale avete da Dio? e che non siete a voi stessi?	19 Do you not realise that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you and whom youreceived from God?
20 Poichè siete stati comperati con prezzo; glorificate adunque Iddio col vostro corpo, e col vostro spirito, i quali sono di Dio	20 You are not your own property, then; you have been bought at a price. So use your body for the gloryof God.
