1 Des Steppes-de-Moab, Moïse gravit le mont Nébo jusqu’au sommet du Pisga, face à Jéricho. Là Yahvé lui montra tout le pays: Galaad jusqu’à Dan,	1 Therefore, Moses ascended from the plains of Moab onto Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, opposite Jericho. And the Lord revealed to him the entire land of Gilead, as far as Dan,
2 Nephtali tout entier, le pays d’Éphraïm et de Manassé, tout le pays de Juda jusqu’à la mer occidentale,	2 and all of Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and the entire land of Judah, even to the furthest sea,
3 le Négueb et la région du Jourdain, la vallée de Jéricho, la ville des palmiers, jusqu’à Soar.	3 and the southern region, and the breadth of the plain of Jericho, the city of palms, as far as Zoar.
4 Puis Yahvé lui dit: “Voici le pays que j’ai promis par serment à Abraham, Isaac et Jacob: je leur ai dit que je le donnerais à leur descendance. Je veux que tu voies ce pays de tes yeux, mais tu n’y entreras pas.”	4 And the Lord said to him: “This is the land, about which I swore to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, saying: I will give it to your offspring. You have seen it with your eyes, but you shall not cross over to it.”
5 C’est là, au pays de Moab, que Moïse le serviteur de Yahvé mourut, sur l’ordre de Yahvé.	5 And Moses, the servant of the Lord, died in that place, in the land of Moab, by order of the Lord.
6 On l’enterra dans la vallée du pays de Moab, en face de Beth-Péor, mais personne n’a connu sa tombe jusqu’à ce jour.	6 And he buried him in the valley of the land of Moab, opposite Peor. And no man knows where his sepulcher is, even to the present day.
7 Moïse était âgé de 120 ans quand il mourut; son œil ne s’était pas affaibli et sa vigueur ne s’était pas éteinte.	7 Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died. His eye was not dimmed, nor were his teeth displaced.
8 Les Israélites pleurèrent Moïse dans les Steppes-de-Moab durant 30 jours, après quoi s’achevèrent les jours de deuil pour Moïse.	8 And the sons of Israel wept for him in the plains of Moab for thirty days. And then the days of their wailing, during which they mourned Moses, were completed.
9 Josué, fils de Noun, était rempli de l’esprit de sagesse, car Moïse lui avait imposé les mains. C’est à lui qu’obéirent les Israélites: ils firent comme Yahvé l’avait ordonné à Moïse.	9 Truly, Joshua, the son of Nun, was filled with the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands upon him. And the sons of Israel were obedient to him, and they did as the Lord instructed Moses.
10 Il ne s’est plus levé, en Israël, de prophète semblable à Moïse que Yahvé connaissait face à face.	10 And no other prophet rose up in Israel like Moses, one whom the Lord knew face to face,
11 Que de signes et de prodiges pour lesquels Yahvé l’envoya! Que n’a-t-il pas fait en Égypte contre le Pharaon et tout son pays!	11 one with all the signs and wonders, which he sent through him, to perform in the land of Egypt, against Pharaoh, and all his servants, and his entire land,
12 Quelle main puissante que celle de Moïse, et quelle autorité redoutable pour agir aux yeux de tout Israël!	12 nor one with such a powerful hand and such great miracles as Moses did in the sight of all Israel.
