1 Questa è la posterità d'Esaù, detto anche Edom.	1 These are the descendants of Esau (that is, Edom).
2 Esaù delle figlie di Canaan sposò Ada, figlia di Elon Eteo, e Oolibama, figlia di Ana figlia di Sebeon Eveo;	2 Esau took his wives from among the Canaanite women: Adah, daughter of Elon the Hittite; Oholibamah, granddaughter through Anah of Zibeon the Hivite;
3 sposò pure Basemat figlia d'Ismaele e sorella di Nabaiot.	3 and Basemath, daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.

7 perchè essendo diventati molto ricchi, non potevano stare nel medesimo luogo, e la terra dove eran pellegrini non li poteva sostentare, essendo molto numeroso il bestiame.	7 Their possessions had become too great for them to dwell together, and the land in which they were staying could not support them because of their livestock.
8 Così Esaù, detto Edom, abitò sul monte Seir.	8 So Esau settled in the highlands of Seir. (Esau is Edom.)
9 Questa è la posterità di Esaù, padre degli Idumei, nel monte Seir.	9 These are the descendants of Esau, ancestor of the Edomites, in the highlands of Seir.
