1 De agora em diante, pois, já não há nenhuma condenação para aqueles que estão em Jesus Cristo.	1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who are not walking according to the flesh.
2 A lei do Espírito de Vida me libertou, em Jesus Cristo, da lei do pecado e da morte.	2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death.
3 O que era impossível à lei, visto que a carne a tornava impotente, Deus o fez. Enviando, por causa do pecado, o seu próprio Filho numa carne semelhante à do pecado, condenou o pecado na carne,	3 For though this was impossible under the law, because it was weakened by the flesh, God sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and because of sin, in order to condemn sin in the flesh,
4 a fim de que a justiça, prescrita pela lei, fosse realizada em nós, que vivemos não segundo a carne, mas segundo o espírito.	4 so that the justification of the law might be fulfilled in us. For we are not walking according to the flesh, but according to the spirit.
5 Os que vivem segundo a carne gostam do que é carnal; os que vivem segundo o espírito apreciam as coisas que são do espírito.	5 For those who are in agreement with the flesh are mindful of the things of the flesh. But those who are in agreement with the spirit are mindful of the things of the spirit.
6 Ora, a aspiração da carne é a morte, enquanto a aspiração do espírito é a vida e a paz.	6 For the prudence of the flesh is death. But the prudence of the spirit is life and peace.
7 Porque o desejo da carne é hostil a Deus, pois a carne não se submete à lei de Deus, e nem o pode.	7 And the wisdom of the flesh is inimical to God. For it is not subject to the law of God, nor can it be.
8 Os que vivem segundo a carne não podem agradar a Deus.	8 So those who are in the flesh are not able to please God.
9 Vós, porém, não viveis segundo a carne, mas segundo o Espírito, se realmente o espírito de Deus habita em vós. Se alguém não possui o Espírito de Cristo, este não é dele.	9 And you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if it is true that the Spirit of God lives within you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him.
10 Ora, se Cristo está em vós, o corpo, em verdade, está morto pelo pecado, mas o Espírito vive pela justificação.	10 But if Christ is within you, then the body is indeed dead, concerning sin, but the spirit truly lives, because of justification.
11 Se o Espírito daquele que ressuscitou Jesus dos mortos habita em vós, ele, que ressuscitou Jesus Cristo dos mortos, também dará a vida aos vossos corpos mortais, pelo seu Espírito que habita em vós.	11 But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead lives within you, then he who raised up Jesus Christ from the dead shall also enliven your mortal bodies, by means of his Spirit living within you.
12 Portanto, irmãos, não somos devedores da carne, para que vivamos segundo a carne.	12 Therefore, brothers, we are not debtors to the flesh, so as to live according to the flesh.
13 De fato, se viverdes segundo a carne, haveis de morrer; mas, se pelo Espírito mortificardes as obras da carne, vivereis,	13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die. But if, by the Spirit, you mortify the deeds of the flesh, you shall live.
14 pois todos os que são conduzidos pelo Espírito de Deus são filhos de Deus.	14 For all those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.
15 Porquanto não recebestes um espírito de escravidão para viverdes ainda no temor, mas recebestes o espírito de adoção pelo qual clamamos: Aba! Pai!	15 And you have not received, again, a spirit of servitude in fear, but you have received the Spirit of the adoption of sons, in whom we cry out: “Abba, Father!”
16 O Espírito mesmo dá testemunho ao nosso espírito de que somos filhos de Deus.	16 For the Spirit himself renders testimony to our spirit that we are the sons of God.
17 E, se filhos, também herdeiros, herdeiros de Deus e co-herdeiros de Cristo, contanto que soframos com ele, para que também com ele sejamos glorificados.	17 But if we are sons, then we are also heirs: certainly heirs of God, but also co-heirs with Christ, yet in such a way that, if we suffer with him, we shall also be glorified with him.
18 Tenho para mim que os sofrimentos da presente vida não têm proporção alguma com a glória futura que nos deve ser manifestada.	18 For I consider that the sufferings of this time are not worthy to be compared with that future glory which shall be revealed in us.
19 Por isso, a criação aguarda ansiosamente a manifestação dos filhos de Deus.	19 For the anticipation of the creature anticipates the revelation of the sons of God.
20 Pois a criação foi sujeita à vaidade {não voluntariamente, mas por vontade daquele que a sujeitou},	20 For the creature was made subject to emptiness, not willingly, but for the sake of the One who made it subject, unto hope.
21 todavia com a esperança de ser também ela libertada do cativeiro da corrupção, para participar da gloriosa liberdade dos filhos de Deus.	21 For the creature itself shall also be delivered from the servitude of corruption, into the liberty of the glory of the sons of God.
22 Pois sabemos que toda a criação geme e sofre como que dores de parto até o presente dia.	22 For we know that every creature groans inwardly, as if giving birth, even until now;
23 Não só ela, mas também nós, que temos as primícias do Espírito, gememos em nós mesmos, aguardando a adoção, a redenção do nosso corpo.	23 and not only these, but also ourselves, since we hold the first-fruits of the Spirit. For we also groan within ourselves, anticipating our adoption as the sons of God, and the redemption of our body.
24 Porque pela esperança é que fomos salvos. Ora, ver o objeto da esperança já não é esperança; porque o que alguém vê, como é que ainda o espera?	24 For we have been saved by hope. But a hope which is seen is not hope. For when a man sees something, why would he hope?
25 Nós que esperamos o que não vemos, é em paciência que o aguardamos.	25 But since we hope for what we do not see, we wait with patience.
26 Outrossim, o Espírito vem em auxílio à nossa fraqueza; porque não sabemos o que devemos pedir, nem orar como convém, mas o Espírito mesmo intercede por nós com gemidos inefáveis.	26 And similarly, the Spirit also helps our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself asks on our behalf with ineffable sighing.
27 E aquele que perscruta os corações sabe o que deseja o Espírito, o qual intercede pelos santos, segundo Deus.	27 And he who examines hearts knows what the Spirit seeks, because he asks on behalf of the saints in accordance with God.
28 Aliás, sabemos que todas as coisas concorrem para o bem daqueles que amam a Deus, daqueles que são os eleitos, segundo os seus desígnios.	28 And we know that, for those who love God, all things work together unto good, for those who, in accordance with his purpose, are called to be saints.
29 Os que ele distinguiu de antemão, também os predestinou para serem conformes à imagem de seu Filho, a fim de que este seja o primogênito entre uma multidão de irmãos.	29 For those whom he foreknew, he also predestinated, in conformity with the image of his Son, so that he might be the Firstborn among many brothers.
30 E aos que predestinou, também os chamou; e aos que chamou, também os justificou; e aos que justificou, também os glorificou.	30 And those whom he predestinated, he also called. And those whom he called, he also justified. And those whom he justified, he also glorified.
31 Que diremos depois disso? Se Deus é por nós, quem será contra nós?	31 So, what should we say about these things? If God is for us, who is against us?
32 Aquele que não poupou seu próprio Filho, mas que por todos nós o entregou, como não nos dará também com ele todas as coisas?	32 He who did not spare even his own Son, but handed him over for the sake of us all, how could he not also, with him, have given us all things?
33 Quem poderia acusar os escolhidos de Deus? É Deus quem os justifica.	33 Who will make an accusation against the elect of God? God is the One who justifies;
34 Quem os condenará? Cristo Jesus, que morreu, ou melhor, que ressuscitou, que está à mão direita de Deus, é quem intercede por nós!	34 who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus who has died, and who has indeed also risen again, is at the right hand of God, and even now he intercedes for us.
35 Quem nos separará do amor de Cristo? A tribulação? A angústia? A perseguição? A fome? A nudez? O perigo? A espada?	35 Then who will separate us from the love of Christ? Tribulation? Or anguish? Or famine? Or nakedness? Or peril? Or persecution? Or the sword?
36 Realmente, está escrito: Por amor de ti somos entregues à morte o dia inteiro; somos tratados como gado destinado ao matadouro {Sl 43,23}.	36 For it is as it has been written: “For your sake, we are being put to death all day long. We are being treated like sheep for the slaughter.”
37 Mas, em todas essas coisas, somos mais que vencedores pela virtude daquele que nos amou.	37 But in all these things we overcome, because of him who has loved us.
38 Pois estou persuadido de que nem a morte, nem a vida, nem os anjos, nem os principados, nem o presente, nem o futuro, nem as potestades,	38 For I am certain that neither death, nor life, nor Angels, nor Principalities, nor Powers, nor the present things, nor the future things, nor strength,
39 nem as alturas, nem os abismos, nem outra qualquer criatura nos poderá apartar do amor que Deus nos testemunha em Cristo Jesus, nosso Senhor.	39 nor the heights, nor the depths, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
