2 Corinthians 4

1 Therefore, since we have this ministry, and in as much as we have obtained mercy for ourselves, we are not inadequate.	1 PERCIÒ, avendo questo ministerio, secondo che ci è stata fatta misericordia, noi non veniam meno dell’animo.
2 For we renounce dishonorable and hidden acts, not walking by craftiness, nor by adulterating the Word of God. Instead, by the manifestation of truth, we commend ourselves to the conscience of each man before God.	2 Anzi abbiam rinunziato a’ nascondimenti della vergogna, non camminando con astuzia, e non falsando la parola di Dio; anzi rendendoci approvati noi stessi da ogni coscienza degli uomini, davanti a Dio, per la manifestazion della verità.
3 But if our Gospel is in some way hidden, it is hidden to those who are perishing.	3 Che se il nostro evangelo ancora è coperto, egli è coperto fra coloro che periscono;
4 As for them, the god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that the light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, would not shine in them.	4 fra i quali l’Iddio di questo secolo ha accecate le menti degl’increduli, acciocchè la luce dell’evangelo della gloria di Cristo, il quale è l’immagine dell’invisibile Iddio, non risplenda loro.
5 For we are not preaching about ourselves, but about Jesus Christ our Lord. We are merely your servants through Jesus.	5 Poichè non predichiamo noi stessi, ma Cristo Gesù, il Signore; e noi siamo vostri servitori, per Gesù.
6 For God, who told the light to shine out of darkness, has shined a light into our hearts, to illuminate the knowledge of the splendor of God, in the person of Christ Jesus.	6 Perciocchè Iddio, che disse che la luce risplendesse dalle tenebre, è quel che ha fatto schiarire il suo splendore ne’ cuori nostri, per illuminarci nella conoscenza della gloria di Dio, che splende sul volto di Gesù Cristo.
7 But we hold this treasure in earthen vessels, so that what is sublime may be of the power of God, and not of us.	7 Or noi abbiamo questo tesoro in vasi di terra, acciocchè l’eccellenza di questa potenza sia di Dio, e non da noi
8 In all things, we endure tribulation, yet we are not in anguish. We are constrained, yet we are not destitute.	8 Essendo per ogni maniera afflitti, ma non però ridotti ad estreme distrette; perplessi, ma non però disperati;
9 We suffer persecution, yet we have not been abandoned. We are thrown down, yet we do not perish.	9 perseguiti, ma non però abbandonati; abbattuti, ma non però perduti.
10 We ever carry around the mortification of Jesus in our bodies, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies.	10 Portando del continuo nel nostro corpo la mortificazione del Signor Gesù; acciocchè ancora si manifesti la vita di Gesù nel nostro corpo.
11 For we who live are ever handed over unto death for the sake of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our mortal flesh.	11 Poichè noi che viviamo siamo del continuo esposti alla morte per Gesù; acciocchè ancora la vita di Gesù si manifesti nella nostra carne mortale.
12 Therefore, death is at work in us, and life is at work in you.	12 Talchè la morte opera in noi, ma la vita in voi.
13 But we have the same Spirit of faith. And just as it is written, “I believed, and for that reason I spoke,” so we also believe, and for that reason, we also speak.	13 Ma pure, avendo noi lo stesso spirito della fede, secondo che è scritto: Io ho creduto, perciò ho parlato; noi ancora crediamo, perciò eziandio parliamo.
14 For we know that the One who raised up Jesus will raise us up also with Jesus and will place us with you.	14 Sapendo che colui che ha risuscitato il Signor Gesù, risusciterà ancora noi per Gesù, e ci farà comparire con voi.
15 Thus, all is for you, so that grace, abounding through many in thanksgiving, may abound to the glory of God.	15 Perciocchè tutte queste cose son per voi; acciocchè la grazia, essendo abbondata, soprabbondi, per lo ringraziamento di molti, alla gloria di Dio.
16 For this reason, we are not insufficient. But it is as though our outer man is corrupted, while our inner man is renewed from day to day.	16 PERCIÒ noi non veniam meno dell’animo; ma, benchè il nostro uomo esterno si disfaccia, pur si rinnova l’interno di giorno in giorno.
17 For though our tribulation is, at the present time, brief and light, it accomplishes in us the weight of a sublime eternal glory, beyond measure.	17 Perciocchè la leggiera nostra afflizione, che è sol per un momento, ci produce un sopra modo eccellente peso eterno di gloria;
18 And we are contemplating, not the things that are seen, but the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are temporal, whereas the things that are not seen are eternal.	18 mentre non abbiamo il riguardo fisso alle cose che si veggono, ma a quelle che non si veggono; poichè le cose che si veggono sono sol per un tempo; ma quelle che non si veggono sono eterne
