Psalms 27

1 A Psalm of David himself. To you, Lord, I will cry out. My God, do not be silent toward me. For if you remain silent toward me, I will become like those who descend into the pit.	1 (Salmo di David). A te, o Signore, alzo le mie gri­da; Dio mio, non star muto con me; chè, se tu non mi parli, io sarò come coloro che scendono nella fossa.
2 Hear, O Lord, the voice of my supplication, when I pray to you, when I lift up my hands toward your holy temple.	2 Ascolta la voce delle mie suppliche, mentre ti prego, mentre alzo le mie mani verso il tuo santo tempio.
3 Do not draw me away together with sinners; and let me not perish with those who work iniquity, who speak peacefully to their neighbor, yet evils are in their hearts.	3 Non mi travolgere coi peccatori, non mi disperdere con quelli che commettono l'iniquità, che parlan di pace col prossimo e nel cuore covano il male.
4 Give to them according to their works and according to the wickedness of their inventions. Assign to them according to the works of their hands. Repay them with their own retribution.	4 Rendi loro secondo le opere, secondo la perfidia delle loro trame. Retribuiscili secondo l'opera delle loro mani, ricompensali come si meritano.
5 Since they have not understood the works of the Lord and the works of his hands, you will destroy them, and you will not build them up.	5 Perchè non hanno intesa l'opera del Signore, l'opera delle mani di lui, li distruggerai e non li farai rialzare.
6 Blessed is the Lord, for he has heard the voice of my supplication.	6 Benedetto il Signore che ha esaudita la voce della mia supplica!
7 The Lord is my helper and my protector. In him, my heart has hoped and I have been helped. And my flesh has flourished again. And from my will, I shall confess to him.	7 Il Signore è mio aiuto e mio protettore: in lui spera il mio cuore, e sono stato soccorso, e rifiorì la mia carne; con tutta l'anima gli dò lode.
8 The Lord is the strength of his people and the protector of the salvation of his Christ.	8 Il Signore è la forza del suo popolo, è un presidio di salvezza al suo Unto.
9 O Lord, save your people and bless your inheritance, and reign over them and exalt them, even unto eternity.	9 O Signore, salva il tuo popolo, benedici la tua eredità, governala ed esaltala in eterno.
