Psalms 121

1 A Canticle in steps. I rejoiced in the things that were said to me: “We shall go into the house of the Lord.”	1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2 Our feet were standing in your courts, O Jerusalem.	2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3 Jerusalem has been built as a city, whose participation is unto itself.	3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4 For to that place, the tribes ascended, the tribes of the Lord: the testimony of Israel, to confess to the name of the Lord.	4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 For in that place, seats have sat down in judgment, seats above the house of David.	5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6 Petition for the things that are for the peace of Jerusalem, and for abundance for those who love you.	6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7 Let peace be in your virtue, and abundance in your towers.	7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8 For the sake of my brothers and my neighbors, I spoke peace about you.	8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I sought good things for you.
