Jeremiah 43

1 When Jeremiah had finished tel ing all the people al the words of Yahweh their God, which Yahwehtheir God had sent him to tel them -- al the words quoted above-	1 E avvenne, poi che Ieremia avea compiuto di parlare al populo (tutte queste cose e) tutte queste parole dello Signore Iddio, per le quali l' avea mandato il loro Signore Iddio a loro, tutte queste parole,
2 Azariah son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan son of Kareah, and all those arrogant men, said to Jeremiah,'You are lying. Yahweh our God did not send you to say, "Do not go to Egypt and settle there."	2 disse Azaria figliuolo di Osaia, e Ioanan figliuolo di Caree, e tutti li uomini superbi, dicendo a Ieremia: tu parli bugia; non ti mandò lo nostro Signore Iddio, dicendo: non entrate in Egitto per abitare ivi.
3 It was Baruch son of Neriah, who keeps inciting you against us, to hand us over to the Chaldaeans sothat they can put us to death or deport us to Babylon.'	3 Ma Baruc, figliuolo di Neria, ti commove inverso di noi, acciò che dia noi nelle mani de' Caldei, per che ci uccidano, e facciano menare noi in Babilonia.
4 So neither Johanan nor any of the military leaders nor any of the people obeyed the voice of Yahwehby staying in the country of Judah.	4 E non udio Ioanan figliuolo di Caree, e tutti li principi de' combattitori, e l'universo populo, la voce di Dio, per ch' egli stessono nella terra di Giuda.
5 Instead, Johanan son of Kareah and al the military leaders led off the entire remnant of Judah, thosewho had come back from all the nations where they had been driven to live in the country of Judah:	5 Ma togliendo Ioanan figliuolo di Caree, e tutti li principi de' combattitori, (e l'universo populo), li universi delli rimanenti di Giuda, i quali erano ritornati di tutte le genti alle quali erano dispersi innanzi, per ch' egli abitassono nella terra di Giuda;
6 men, women, children, the royal princesses too, and every single person that Nebuzaradancommander of the guard had left with Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, including the prophet Jeremiahand Baruch son of Neriah.	6 uomini e femine, e piccolini e figliuole di re, e ogni anima la quale avea lasciata Nabuzardan, principe della milizia, con Godolia, figliuolo di Aicam, figliuolo di Safan, e Ieremia profeta, e Baruc figliuolo di Neria;
7 And so, in disobedience to the voice of Yahweh, they reached Egypt and arrived at Tahpanhes.	7 ed entrarono nella terra di Egitto, però che non ubbidirono alla voce del nostro Signore Iddio, e vennero infino a Tafnis (cioè quello luogo che si chiama così).
8 At Tahpanhes the word of Yahweh was addressed to Jeremiah as fol ows,	8 E disse Iddio a Ieremia in Tafnis:
9 'Take some large stones and bury them in the cement on the terrace outside the entrance of Pharaoh'spalace in Tahpanhes, where the Judaeans can see you.	9 Piglia colla tua mano pietre grandi, e nascondile nella grotta ch' è sotto i muri de' mattoni nella porta della casa di Faraone in Tafnis, ragguardanti li uomini giudei.
10 Then say to them, "Yahweh, God of Israel, says this: Look, I shal send for my servantNebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and he wil place his throne on these stones I have buried, and spread hiscanopy above them.	10 E dirai a loro: questo dice lo Signore Iddio. d' Israel: ecco io manderò e piglierò Nabucodonosor, re di Babilonia, mio servo; e porrò lo suo trono (e la sua sedia) sopra queste pietre le quali io ho nascosto, e firmarà la [sua] sedia sopra quelle.
11 When he comes, he wil defeat Egypt: Those for the plague, to the plague; those for captivity, tocaptivity; those for the sword, to the sword!	11 E vegnendo percoterà la terra d'Egitto: e quelli degni saranno di morte, morranno di morte; e degni di prigione, saranno prigionati; e quelli che saranno di coltello, con coltello morranno.
12 "He wil set fire to the temples of the gods of Egypt; he wil burn these gods or take them prisoner; likea shepherd wrapping his cloak round him, so he will wrap Egypt round him, and then leave without anyonelaying hands on him.	12 E (che) accenderà lo fuoco nelle statue degli iddii d'Egitto, e arderagli, e menerà coloro in prigione; e vestirassi della terra d' Egitto, come fa lo pastore del suo pallio (cioè dello suo vestimento); e indi uscirà in pace.
13 He wil break the obelisks of the temple of the Sun in Egypt, and burn down the temples of the gods ofEgypt." '	13 E romperà (e triterà) le statue della casa del sole, le quali sono nella terra d'Egitto; e quelle statue degl' iddii d' Egitto saranno arse al fuoco.
