Prima lettera di Pietro - (מכתב ראשון של פיטר) 3

MODERN HEBREW BIBLE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 ועוד אחי התפללו בעדנו אשר ירוץ דבר יהוה ויכבד כמו גם בקרבכם	1 Final y, brothers, pray for us that the Lord's message may spread quickly, and be received with honouras it was among you;
2 ואשר ננצל מן האנשים התעים והרעים כי לא לכל אדם האמונה	2 and pray that we may be preserved from bigoted and evil people, for not everyone has faith.
3 אבל נאמן הוא האדון אשר יחזק אתכם וישמרכם מן הרע	3 You can rely on the Lord, who wil give you strength and guard you from the evil One,
4 ואנחנו בטוחים עליכם באדנינו כי תעשו וגם תוסיפו לעשות את אשר נצוה	4 and we, in the Lord, have every confidence in you, that you are doing and wil go on doing al that wetel you.
5 והאדון הוא יישר את לבבכם לאהבת האלהים ולסבלנות המשיח	5 May the Lord turn your hearts towards the love of God and the perseverance of Christ.
6 והננו מצוים אתכם אחים בשם אדנינו ישוע המשיח אשר תבדלו מכל אח מעקש דרכיו ואיננו מתהלך על פי הקבלה אשר קבל מאתנו	6 In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge you, brothers, to keep away from any of the brothers wholives an undisciplined life, not in accordance with the tradition you received from us.
7 הלא ידעתם אף אתם איך עליכם להתהלך כמנו כי לא נהגנו דרך מעות בתוככם	7 You know how you should take us as your model: we were not undisciplined when we were with you,
8 גם לא אכלנו לחם איש חנם כי ביגיעה ותלאה לילה ויומם היינו עמלים לבלתי היות לאיש מכם למשא	8 nor did we ever accept food from anyone without paying for it; no, we worked with unsparing energy,night and day, so as not to be a burden on any of you.
9 לא בעבור שאין לנו הרשות לזאת כי אם לתת אתנו לכם למופת ללכת בעקבותינו	9 This was not because we had no right to be, but in order to make ourselves a model for you to imitate.
10 כי גם בהיותנו אצלכם צוינו אתכם לאמר מי שלא ירצה לעבד גם אכול לא יאכל	10 We urged you when we were with you not to let anyone eat who refused to work.
11 כי שמענו שיש בכם אנשים המעקשים את דרכיהם ואינם עבדים מאומה ומבלים ימיהם בהבלים	11 Now we hear that there are some of you who are living lives without any discipline, doing no workthemselves but interfering with other people's.
12 ואנשים כאלה נצוה אותם ונבקש מהם באדנינו ישוע המשיח לעבד בנחת למען יאכלו את לחמם	12 In the Lord Jesus Christ, we urge and cal on people of this kind to go on quietly working and earningthe food that they eat.
13 ואתם אחי אל תלאו בעשות הטוב	13 My brothers, never slacken in doing what is right.
14 ואם לא ישמע איש אל דברנו באגרת הזאת אתו תרשמו לכם ואל תתערבו עמו למען יבוש	14 If anyone refuses to obey what I have written in this letter, take note of him and have nothing to dowith him, so that he wil be ashamed of himself,
15 אך לא כאיב תחשבהו כי אם תוכיחהו כאח	15 though you are not to treat him as an enemy, but to correct him as a brother.
16 והוא אדון השלום הוא יתן לכם את השלום תמיד ובכל פנים	16 May the Lord of peace himself give you peace at al times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.
17 יהי האדון עם כלכם	17 This greeting is in my own hand-PAUL. It is the mark of genuineness in every letter; this is my own writing.
18 שאלת השלום מידי אני פולוס והיא האות בכל האגרות כן אנכי כתב׃ [ (II Thessalonians 3:19) חסד ישוע המשיח אדנינו עם כלכם אמן׃ ]	18 May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
