Psalms 125

DOUAI-RHEIMS	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 If it had not been that the Lord was with us, let Israel now say:	1 Cântico das peregrinações. Os que confiam no Senhor são como o monte Sião, eternamente firme.
2 If it had not been that the Lord was with us, When men rose up against us	2 Como Jerusalém está toda cercada de montanhas, assim o Senhor envolve seu povo, agora e sempre.
3 perhaps they had swallowed us up alive. When their fury was enkindled against us,	3 Não permanecerá estendido o cetro dos ímpios sobre o destino dos justos, para que também estes não acabem por estender suas mãos ao crime.
4 perhaps the waters had swallowed us up.	4 Fazei bem, Senhor, aos que são bons, e aos homens de reto coração.
5 Our soul hath passed through a torrent: perhaps our soul had passed through a water insupportable.	5 Mas aqueles que se desviam por caminhos tortuosos, que o Senhor os leve com os malfeitores. Paz para Israel!
6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us to be a prey to their teeth.
7 Our soul hath been delivered as a sparrow out of the snare of the followers. The snare is broken, and we are delivered.
8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
