Psalms 125

DOUAI-RHEIMS	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 If it had not been that the Lord was with us, let Israel now say:	1 Canto delle ascensioni. Quelli che confidano nel Signore sono come il monte Sion, che non vacilla, che è stabile in eterno.
2 If it had not been that the Lord was with us, When men rose up against us	2 I monti circondano Gerusalemme e il Signore sta intorno al suo popolo, ora e sempre!
3 perhaps they had swallowed us up alive. When their fury was enkindled against us,	3 Sì, lo scettro di empietà non riposerà sull'eredità dei giusti, purché i giusti non stendano le mani a compiere il male.
4 perhaps the waters had swallowed us up.	4 Sii benevolo, Signore, con i buoni e con quanti sono retti nel loro cuore.
5 Our soul hath passed through a torrent: perhaps our soul had passed through a water insupportable.	5 Ma coloro che declinano per sentieri tortuosi il Signore li accomunerà con gli operatori di male. Pace su Israele!
6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us to be a prey to their teeth.
7 Our soul hath been delivered as a sparrow out of the snare of the followers. The snare is broken, and we are delivered.
8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
