Psalms 125

DOUAI-RHEIMS	LXX
1 If it had not been that the Lord was with us, let Israel now say:	1 ωδη των αναβαθμων εν τω επιστρεψαι κυριον την αιχμαλωσιαν σιων εγενηθημεν ως παρακεκλημενοι
2 If it had not been that the Lord was with us, When men rose up against us	2 τοτε επλησθη χαρας το στομα ημων και η γλωσσα ημων αγαλλιασεως τοτε ερουσιν εν τοις εθνεσιν εμεγαλυνεν κυριος του ποιησαι μετ' αυτων
3 perhaps they had swallowed us up alive. When their fury was enkindled against us,	3 εμεγαλυνεν κυριος του ποιησαι μεθ' ημων εγενηθημεν ευφραινομενοι
4 perhaps the waters had swallowed us up.	4 επιστρεψον κυριε την αιχμαλωσιαν ημων ως χειμαρρους εν τω νοτω
5 Our soul hath passed through a torrent: perhaps our soul had passed through a water insupportable.	5 οι σπειροντες εν δακρυσιν εν αγαλλιασει θεριουσιν
6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us to be a prey to their teeth.	6 πορευομενοι επορευοντο και εκλαιον αιροντες τα σπερματα αυτων ερχομενοι δε ηξουσιν εν αγαλλιασει αιροντες τα δραγματα αυτων
7 Our soul hath been delivered as a sparrow out of the snare of the followers. The snare is broken, and we are delivered.
8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
