11 La fortuna del rico es su plaza fuerte, se la imagina como un muro inexpugnable. | 11 The wealth of the rich forms a stronghold, a high wal , as the rich supposes. |
12 Antes de la ruina el hombre se ensoberbece, pero la humildad precede a la gloria. | 12 The human heart is haughty until destruction comes, before there can be glory there must be humility. |
13 El que responde antes de escuchar muestra su necedad y se atrae el oprobio. | 13 To retort without first listening is both foolish and embarrassing. |
