Salmos 33

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Aclamen, justos, al Señor; es propio de los buenos alabarlo.	1 Shout for joy, you upright; praise comes wel from the honest.
2 Alaben al Señor con la cítara, toquen en su honor el arpa de diez cuerdas;	2 Give thanks to Yahweh on the lyre, play for him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3 entonen para él un canto nuevo, toquen con arte, profiriendo aclamaciones.	3 Sing to him a new song, make sweet music for your cry of victory.
4 Porque la palabra del Señor es recta y él obra siempre con lealtad;	4 The word of Yahweh is straightforward, al he does springs from his constancy.
5 él ama la justicia y el derecho, y la tierra está llena de su amor.	5 He loves uprightness and justice; the faithful love of Yahweh fil s the earth.
6 La palabra del Señor hizo el cielo, y el aliento de su boca, los ejércitos celestiales;	6 By the word of Yahweh the heavens were made, by the breath of his mouth all their array.
7 él encierra en un cántaro las aguas del mar y pone en un depósito las olas del océano.	7 He collects the waters of the sea like a dam, he stores away the abyss in his treasure-house.
8 Que toda la tierra tema al Señor, y tiemblen ante él los habitantes del mundo;	8 Let the whole earth fear Yahweh, let al who dwel in the world revere him;
9 porque él lo dijo, y el mundo existió, él dio una orden, y todo subsiste.	9 for, the moment he spoke, it was so, no sooner had he commanded, than there it stood!
10 El Señor frustra el designio de las naciones y deshace los planes de los pueblos,	10 Yahweh thwarts the plans of nations, frustrates the counsels of peoples;
11 pero el designio del Señor permanece para siempre, y sus planes, a lo largo de las generaciones.	11 but Yahweh's own plan stands firm for ever, his heart's counsel from age to age.
12 ¡Feliz la nación cuyo Dios es el Señor, el pueblo que él se eligió como herencia!	12 How blessed the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people he has chosen as his heritage.
13 El Señor observa desde el cielo y contempla a todos los hombres;	13 From heaven Yahweh looks down, he sees al the children of Adam,
14 él mira desde su trono a todos los habitantes de la tierra;	14 from the place where he sits he watches al who dwel on the earth;
15 modela el corazón de cada uno y conoce a fondo todas sus acciones.	15 he alone moulds their hearts, he understands al they do.
16 El rey no vence por su mucha fuerza ni se libra el guerrero por su gran vigor;	16 A large army wil not keep a king safe, nor his strength save a warrior's life;
17 de nada sirven los caballos para la victoria: a pesar de su fuerza no pueden salvar.	17 it is delusion to rely on a horse for safety, for all its power it cannot save.
18 Los ojos del Señor están fijos sobre sus fieles, sobre los que esperan en su misericordia,	18 But see how Yahweh watches over those who fear him, those who rely on his faithful love,
19 para librar sus vidas de la muerte y sustentarlos en el tiempo de indigencia.	19 to rescue them from death and keep them alive in famine.
20 Nuestra alma espera en el Señor; él es nuestra ayuda y nuestro escudo.	20 We are waiting for Yahweh; he is our help and our shield,
21 Nuestro corazón se regocija en él: nosotros confiamos en su santo Nombre.	21 for in him our heart rejoices, in his holy name we trust.
22 Señor, que tu amor descienda sobre nosotros, conforme a la esperanza que tenemos en ti.	22 Yahweh, let your faithful love rest on us, as our hope has rested in you.
