Ezechiele 21

1 Mi giunse la parola del Signore:	1 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:
2 "Figlio dell'uomo, rivolgi la faccia verso il meridione, pronuncia un vaticinio verso l'austro, profetizza sulla foresta del sud.	2 Son of man, look southward, preach toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the southern land.
3 Dirai alla foresta del sud: Ascolta la parola del Signore: Così dice il Signore Dio: Ora appicco in te un fuoco che ti consumerà ogni legno verde e ogni legno secco; la fiamma ardente non si spegnerà, ogni cosa vi sarà bruciata da sud a nord	3 Hear the word of the LORD! you shall say to the southern forest. Thus says the Lord GOD: See! I am kindling a fire in you that shall devour all trees, the green as well as the dry. The blazing flame shall not be quenched, but from south to north every face shall be scorched by it.
4 e ogni creatura vedrà che io, il Signore, l'ho incendiata: non si spegnerà".	4 Everyone shall see that I, the LORD, have kindled it, and it shall not be quenched.

6 Ma mi giunse la parola del Signore:	6 Then the word of the LORD came to me:
7 "Figlio dell'uomo, volgi la faccia verso Gerusalemme, pronuncia un vaticinio contro i suoi santuari, profetizza contro il paese d'Israele.	7 Son of man, look toward Jerusalem, preach against their sanctuary, and prophesy against the land of Israel,
8 Di' al paese d'Israele: Così dice il Signore: Eccomi contro di te! Estrarrò la mia spada dal fodero e reciderò da te giusti ed empi.	8 saying to the land of Israel: Thus says the LORD: See! I am coming at you; I will draw my sword from its sheath and cut off from you the virtuous and the wicked.
9 Perché io recida da te giusti ed empi, deve uscire la mia spada dal fodero contro ogni creatura da sud a nord.	9 Thus my sword shall leave its sheath against everyone from south to north,
10 Ogni creatura riconoscerà che io, il Signore, ho estratto la mia spada dal fodero e che non vi rientrerà più.	10 and everyone shall know that I, the LORD, have drawn my sword from its sheath, and it shall not be sheathed again.
11 E tu, figlio dell'uomo, gemi con i lembi disfatti, nell'amarezza gemi al loro cospetto.	11 As for you, son of man, groan! with shattered strength groan bitterly while they look on.
12 Succederà che essi ti domanderanno: "Perché gemi?". E tu dirai: "Per una notizia che è arrivata; ogni cuore è disfatto, le braccia snervate, gli spiriti sono spaventati, le ginocchia si sciolgono". Ecco che è giunta e si avvera. Oracolo di Dio, mio Signore".	12 And when they ask you, "Why are you groaning?", you shall say: Because of a report; when it comes every heart shall fail, every hand shall fall helpless, every spirit shall be daunted, and every knee shall run with water. 13 Mi giunse la parola del Signore:	13 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:
14 "Figlio dell'uomo, profetizza e di': Così dice il mio Signore: Una spada, una spada è affilata ed è anche levigata!	14 Son of man, prophesy! say: Thus says the LORD: A sword, a sword has been sharpened, a sword, a sword has been burnished:

17 Grida, ulula, figlio dell'uomo, perché incombe ormai sul mio popolo e su tutti i prìncipi d'Israele: essi sono in balìa della spada assieme al mio popolo! 19 E tu, figlio dell'uomo, profetizza e batti le mani, sia raddoppiata la spada e triplicata; è una spada feritrice, grande spada che ferisce, che rotea loro attorno,	19 As for you, son of man, prophesy, brushing one hand against the other: While the sword is doubled and tripled, this sword of slaughter, This great sword of slaughter which threatens all around,
20 sì da far sussultare il cuore. Si moltiplicano i caduti: a tutte le loro porte ho seminato strage. Ahi, spada fatta per lampeggiare, sfoderata per sgozzare!	20 That every heart may tremble; for many will be the fallen. 22 Anch'io batto le mani e sfogherò il mio furore. Io, il Signore, ho parlato".	22 Then I, too, shall brush one hand against the other and wreak my fury. I, the LORD, have spoken.
23 Mi giunse la parola del Signore:	23 Thus the word of the LORD came to me:
24 "Tu, figlio dell'uomo, traccia due strade, per il passaggio della spada del re di Babilonia; partiranno entrambe dal medesimo paese. Poni un'indicazione stradale; disegna un'indicazione al bivio della città.	24 Son of man, make for yourself two roads over which the sword of the king of Babylon can come. Both roads shall lead out from the same land. Then put a signpost at the head of each road,

Ma intanto egli è l'accusatore della loro colpa, perché siano presi al laccio!	28 In their eyes this is but a lying oracle; yet they are bound by the oaths they have sworn, and the arrow taken in hand marks their guilt.
29 Perciò così dice Dio, mio Signore: Poiché accusate da voi stessi le vostre colpe, svelando le vostre ribellioni e mostrando i vostri peccati con tutte le vostre azioni, poiché le accusate voi stessi, sarete presi al laccio.	29 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: Because you have drawn attention to your guilt, with your crimes laid bare and your sinfulness in all your wicked deeds revealed (because attention has been drawn to you), you shall be taken in hand.
30 E quanto a te, contaminato empio principe d'Israele, di cui è arrivato il giorno, ora che la colpa è arrivata alla fine,	30 And as for you, depraved and wicked prince of Israel, whose day is coming when your life of crime will be ended,
31 così dice Dio, mio Signore: Deponi il turbante, lèvati la corona! Tutto sarà trasformato: ciò che è basso sarà elevato e ciò che è alto sarà abbassato.	31 thus says the Lord GOD: Off with the turban and away with the crown! Nothing shall be as it was! Up with the low and down with the high!

36 Riverserò su di te la mia rabbia, ti soffierò contro il fuoco della mia ira; ti darò in potere di uomini incendiari, artefici di sterminio.	36 I will pour out my indignation upon you, breathing my fiery wrath upon you, I will hand you over to ravaging men, artisans of destruction.
37 Sarai preda del fuoco; il tuo sangue è sparso per il paese. Non sarai più ricordato. Io, il Signore, ho parlato".	37 You shall be fuel for the fire, your blood shall flow throughout the land. You shall not be remembered, for I, the LORD, have spoken.
