1 Oracolo sull'Egitto. Ecco il Signore che cavalca su una nube leggera e se ne va in Egitto. Vacillano gl'idoli dell'Egitto davanti a lui e nel petto viene meno il cuore agli Egiziani.	1 Oracle on Egypt: See, the LORD is riding on a swift cloud on his way to Egypt; The idols of Egypt tremble before him, the hearts of the Egyptians melt within them.
2 Aizzerò l'Egitto contro l'Egitto, combatteranno gli uni contro gli altri, ciascuno contro il suo prossimo, città contro città, regno contro regno.	2 I will rouse Egypt against Egypt: brother will war against brother, Neighbor against neighbor, city against city, kingdom against kindgom.
3 La potenza dell'Egitto svanirà in mezzo ad esso, e renderò vano il suo consiglio; per cui ricorreranno agli idoli e agli incantatori, ai negromanti e agli indovini.	3 The courage of the Egyptians ebbs away within them, and I will bring to nought their counsel; They shall consult idols and charmers, ghosts and spirits.
4 Consegnerò gli Egiziani in balìa di un duro padrone, un re crudele dominerà su di loro. Oracolo del Signore, Dio degli eserciti.	4 I will deliver Egypt into the power of a cruel master, A harsh king who shall rule over them, says the Lord, the LORD of hosts.

9 Saranno confusi i lavoratori del lino, le scardatrici e i tessitori impallidiranno.	9 The linen-workers shall be disappointed, the combers and weavers shall turn pale;
10 I tessitori saranno costernati, tutti gli operai salariati rattristati nel loro animo.	10 The spinners shall be crushed, all the hired laborers shall be despondent.
11 Certamente stolti sono i prìncipi di Tanis, i più sapienti dei consiglieri del faraone formano un consiglio stupido. Come potete dire al faraone: "Io sono discepolo dei sapienti, discepolo di antichi regnanti"?	11 Utter fools are the princes of Zoan! the wisest of Pharaoh's advisers give stupid counsel. How can you say to Pharaoh, "I am a disciple of wise men, of ancient kings"?
12 Dove sono dunque i tuoi sapienti? Ti annuncino e facciano conoscere ciò che progettò il Signore degli eserciti a proposito dell'Egitto.	12 Where then are your wise men? Let them tell you and make known What the LORD of hosts has planned against Egypt.
13 Sono divenuti stolti i prìncipi di Tanis, si ingannano i prìncipi di Menfi. Hanno fatto traviare l'Egitto i capi delle sue tribù.	13 The princes of Zoan have become fools, the princes of Memphis have been deceived. The chiefs of her tribes have led Egypt astray.
14 Il Signore ha effuso in mezzo a loro uno spirito di smarrimento, essi fanno traviare l'Egitto in ogni sua attività, come va errando l'ubriaco nel suo vomito.	14 The LORD has prepared among them a spirit of dizziness, And they have made Egypt stagger in whatever she does, as a drunkard staggers in his vomit.
15 Ed in favore dell'Egitto non si compirà un'opera da parte del capo o della coda, del ramo o del giunco.	15 Egypt shall have no work to do for head or tail, palm branch or reed.
16 In quel giorno gli Egiziani saranno come femmine, tremeranno spaventati di fronte alla mano che il Signore degli eserciti agiterà contro di loro.	16 On that day the Egyptians shall be like women, trembling with fear, because of the LORD of hosts shaking his fist at them.
17 Il paese di Giuda diventerà un terrore per l'Egitto; ogni volta che Giuda sarà ricordato, se ne avrà timore a causa del progetto che il Signore degli eserciti ha formato contro di esso.	17 And the land of Judah shall be a terror to the Egyptians. Every time they remember Judah, they shall stand in dread because of the plan which the LORD of hosts has in mind for them.
18 In quel giorno vi saranno in Egitto cinque città che parleranno la lingua di Canaan e giureranno per il Signore degli eserciti; una di queste si chiamerà Città del sole.	18 On that day there shall be five cities in the land of Egypt speaking the language of Canaan and swearing by the LORD of hosts; one shall be called "City of the Sun."
19 In quel giorno vi sarà nel mezzo del paese di Egitto un altare dedicato al Signore, presso la sua frontiera una stele in onore del Signore.	19 On that day there shall be an altar to the LORD in the land of Egypt, and a sacred pillar to the LORD near the boundary.
20 Ci sarà un segno e una testimonianza per il Signore degli eserciti nel paese di Egitto. Quando invocheranno il Signore di fronte agli oppressori, egli invierà loro un salvatore e un difensore, che li libererà.	20 It shall be a sign and a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt, when they cry out to the LORD against their oppressors, and he sends them a savior to defend and deliver them.
21 Il Signore si farà conoscere all'Egitto; gli Egiziani riconosceranno il Signore in quel giorno; lo serviranno con sacrifici e oblazioni, faranno voti al Signore e li manterranno.	21 The LORD shall make himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day; they shall offer sacrifices and oblations, and fulfill the vows they make to the LORD.
22 Il Signore percuoterà ancora gli Egiziani, li percuoterà, ma poi li guarirà; si convertiranno al Signore, che sarà loro propizio e li guarirà.	22 Although the LORD shall smite Egypt severely, he shall heal them; they shall turn to the LORD and he shall be won over and heal them.
23 In quel giorno ci sarà una strada dall'Egitto fino all'Assiria. L'Assiria verrà in Egitto e l'Egitto andrà in Assiria e gli Egiziani serviranno il Signore insieme con gli Assiri.	23 On that day there shall be a highway from Egypt to Assyria; the Assyrians shall enter Egypt, and the Egyptians enter Assyria, and Egypt shall serve Assyria.
24 In quel giorno Israele, il terzo con l'Egitto e con l'Assiria, sarà una benedizione in mezzo alla terra.	24 On that day Israel shall be a third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the land,
25 Il Signore degli eserciti li benedirà dicendo: "Benedetto sia l'Egitto, popolo mio, l'Assiria, opera delle mie mani, e Israele mia eredità".	25 when the LORD of hosts blesses it: "Blessed be my people Egypt, and the work of my hands Assyria, and my inheritance, Israel."
