| 9 e cioè contro Chedorlàomer, re dell'Elam, Tideal, re di Goim, Amrafèl, re di Sennaar, e Arioch, re di Ellasar: quattro re contro cinque. | 9 with Ched-or-laomer king of Elam, Tidal king of Goiim, Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar, four kings against five. |
| 10 Or la valle di Siddim era piena di pozzi di bitume; messi in fuga, il re di Sòdoma e il re di Gomorra vi caddero dentro e i restanti fuggirono sulla montagna. | 10 Now the Valley of Siddim was full of bitumen pits; and as the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah fled, some fell into them, and the rest fled to the mountain. |
| 11 I nemici presero tutte le possessioni di Sòdoma e di Gomorra e tutti i loro viveri e se ne andarono. | 11 So the enemy took all the goods of Sodom and Gomorrah, and all their provisions, and went their way; |
| 12 Andandosene presero anche Lot, figlio del fratello di Abram, e i suoi beni. Egli risiedeva appunto in Sòdoma. | 12 they also took Lot, the son of Abram's brother, who dwelt in Sodom, and his goods, and departed. |

| 16 ricuperò così tutta la roba e anche Lot, suo fratello, e i suoi beni, con le donne e il rimanente personale. | 16 Then he brought back all the goods, and also brought back his kinsman Lot with his goods, and the women and the people. |
| 17 Il re di Sòdoma gli uscì incontro, dopo il suo ritorno dalla sconfitta di Chedorlàomer e dei re che erano con lui, nella valle di Save, detta pure la valle del re. | 17 After his return from the defeat of Ched-or-laomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King's Valley). |

| 21 Poi il re di Sòdoma disse ad Abram: "Dammi le persone, e prendi pure per te i beni". | 21 And the king of Sodom said to Abram, "Give me the persons, but take the goods for yourself." |
| 22 Ma Abram disse al re di Sòdoma: "Ho alzato la mano davanti al Signore, Dio altissimo, creatore del cielo e della terra: | 22 But Abram said to the king of Sodom, "I have sworn to the LORD God Most High, maker of heaven and earth, |
| 23 né un filo o un legaccio di calzare, né alcunché di ciò che è tuo io prenderò; sicché tu non possa dire: "Sono io che ho arricchito Abram!". | 23 that I would not take a thread or a sandal-thong or anything that is yours, lest you should say, 'I have made Abram rich.' |
| 24 Io non c'entro! Soltanto quello che i soldati hanno consumato e la parte spettante agli uomini che sono venuti con me, Escol, Aner e Mamre... Essi, sì, riceveranno la loro parte". | 24 I will take nothing but what the young men have eaten, and the share of the men who went with me; let Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre take their share." |
