Matthew 14

1 In that time, Herod the Tetrarch heard the news about Jesus.	1 في ذلك الوقت سمع هيرودس رئيس الربع خبر يسوع.
2 And he said to his servants: “This is John the Baptist. He has risen from the dead, and that is why miracles are at work in him.”	2 فقال لغلمانه هذا هو يوحنا المعمدان. قد قام من الاموات ولذلك تعمل به القوات
3 For Herod had apprehended John, and bound him, and put him in prison, because of Herodias, the wife of his brother.	3 فان هيرودس كان قد امسك يوحنا واوثقه وطرحه في سجن من اجل هيروديا امرأة فيلبس اخيه.
4 For John was telling him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”	4 لان يوحنا كان يقول له لا يحل ان تكون لك.
5 And though he wanted to kill him, he feared the people, because they held him to be a prophet.	5 ولما اراد ان يقتله خاف من الشعب. لانه كان عندهم مثل نبي.
6 Then, on Herod’s birthday, the daughter of Herodias danced in their midst, and it pleased Herod.	6 ثم لما صار مولد هيرودس رقصت ابنة هيروديا في الوسط فسرّت هيرودس.
7 And so he promised with an oath to give her whatever she would ask of him.	7 من ثم وعد بقسم انه مهما طلبت يعطيها.
8 But, having been advised by her mother, she said, “Give me here, on a platter, the head of John the Baptist.”	8 فهي اذ كانت قد تلقنت من امها قالت أعطيني ههنا على طبق راس يوحنا المعمدان.
9 And the king was greatly saddened. But because of his oath, and because of those who sat at table with him, he ordered it to be given.	9 فاغتم الملك. ولكن من اجل الاقسام والمتكئين معه أمر ان يعطى.
10 And he sent and beheaded John in prison.	10 فارسل وقطع راس يوحنا في السجن.
11 And his head was brought on a platter, and it was given to the girl, and she brought it to her mother.	11 فأحضر رأسه على طبق ودفع الى الصبية. فجاءت به الى امها.
12 And his disciples approached and took the body, and they buried it. And arriving, they reported it to Jesus.	12 فتقدم تلاميذه ورفعوا الجسد ودفنوه. ثم أتوا واخبروا يسوع
13 When Jesus had heard it, he withdrew from there by boat, to a deserted place by himself. And when the crowds had heard of it, they followed him on foot from the cities.	13 فلما سمع يسوع انصرف من هناك في سفينة الى موضع خلاء منفردا. فسمع الجموع وتبعوه مشاة من المدن
14 And going out, he saw a great multitude, and he took pity on them, and he cured their sick.	14 فلما خرج يسوع ابصر جمعا كثيرا فتحنن عليهم وشفى مرضاهم.
15 And when evening had arrived, his disciples approached him, saying: “This is a deserted place, and the hour has now passed. Dismiss the crowds, so that, by going into the towns, they may buy food for themselves.”	15 ولما صار المساء تقدم اليه تلاميذه قائلين الموضع خلاء والوقت قد مضى. اصرف الجموع لكي يمضوا الى القرى ويبتاعوا لهم طعاما.
16 But Jesus said to them: “They have no need to go. Give them something to eat yourselves.”	16 فقال لهم يسوع لا حاجة لهم ان يمضوا. اعطوهم انتم ليأكلوا.
17 They answered him, “We have nothing here, except five loaves and two fish.”	17 فقالوا له ليس عندنا ههنا الا خمسة ارغفة وسمكتان.
18 He said to them, “Bring them here to me.”	18 فقال ايتوني بها الى هنا.
19 And when he had ordered the multitude to sit down upon the grass, he took the five loaves and the two fish, and gazing up to heaven, he blessed and broke and gave the bread to the disciples, and then the disciples to the multitudes.	19 فامر الجموع ان يتكئوا على العشب. ثم اخذ الارغفة الخمسة والسمكتين ورفع نظره نحو السماء وبارك وكسر واعطى الارغفة للتلاميذ والتلاميذ للجموع.
20 And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up the remnants: twelve baskets full of fragments.	20 فأكل الجميع وشبعوا. ثم رفعوا ما فضل من الكسر اثنتي عشر قفة مملوءة.
21 Now the number of those who ate was five thousand men, besides women and children.	21 والآكلون كانوا نحو خمسة آلاف رجل ما عدا النساء والاولاد
22 And Jesus promptly compelled his disciples to climb into the boat, and to precede him in crossing the sea, while he dismissed the crowds.	22 وللوقت ألزم يسوع تلاميذه ان يدخلوا السفينة ويسبقوه الى العبر حتى يصرف الجموع.
23 And having dismissed the multitude, he ascended alone onto a mountain to pray. And when evening arrived, he was alone there.	23 وبعدما صرف الجموع صعد الى الجبل منفردا ليصلّي. ولما صار المساء كان هناك وحده.
24 But in the midst of the sea, the boat was being tossed about by the waves. For the wind was against them.	24 واما السفينة فكانت قد صارت في وسط البحر معذبة من الامواج. لان الريح كانت مضادة.
25 Then, in the fourth watch of the night, he came to them, walking upon the sea.	25 وفي الهزيع الرابع من الليل مضى اليهم يسوع ماشيا على البحر.
26 And seeing him walking upon the sea, they were disturbed, saying: “It must be an apparition.” And they cried out, because of fear.	26 فلما ابصره التلاميذ ماشيا على البحر اضطربوا قائلين انه خيال. ومن الخوف صرخوا.
27 And immediately, Jesus spoke to them, saying: “Have faith. It is I. Do not be afraid.”	27 فللوقت كلمهم يسوع قائلا تشجعوا. انا هو. لا تخافوا.
28 Then Peter responded by saying, “Lord, if it is you, order me come to you over the waters.”	28 فاجابه بطرس وقال يا سيد ان كنت انت هو فمرني ان آتي اليك على الماء.
29 And he said, “Come.” And Peter, descending from the boat, walked over the water, so as to go to Jesus.	29 فقال تعال. فنزل بطرس من السفينة ومشى على الماء ليأتي الى يسوع.
30 Yet truly, seeing that the wind was strong, he was afraid. And as he began to sink, he cried out, saying: “Lord, save me.”	30 ولكن لما رأى الريح شديدة خاف واذ ابتدأ يغرق صرخ قائلا يا رب نجني.
31 And immediately Jesus extended his hand and took hold of him. And he said to him, “O little in faith, why did you doubt?”	31 ففي الحال مدّ يسوع يده وامسك به وقال له يا قليل الايمان لماذا شككت.
32 And when they had ascended into the boat, the wind ceased.	32 ولما دخلا السفينة سكنت الريح.
33 Then those who were in the boat drew near and adored him, saying: “Truly, you are the Son of God.”	33 والذين في السفينة جاءوا وسجدوا له قائلين بالحقيقة انت ابن الله
34 And having crossed the sea, they arrived in the land of Genesaret.	34 فلما عبروا جاءوا الى ارض جنيسارت.
35 And when the men of that place had recognized him, they sent into all that region, and they brought to him all who had maladies.	35 فعرفه رجال ذلك المكان. فارسلوا الى جميع تلك الكورة المحيطة واحضروا اليه جميع المرضى.
36 And they petitioned him, so that they might touch even the hem of his garment. And as many as touched it were made whole.	36 وطلبوا اليه ان يلمسوا هدب ثوبه فقط. فجميع الذين لمسوه نالوا الشفاء
