1 Then the leaders of the families of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, from the stock of the sons of Joseph, approached and spoke to Moses before the leaders of Israel, and they said:	1 Si avvicinarono i capi delle case paterne, delle famiglie dei figli di Galaad, figlio di Machir, figlio di Manasse, delle famiglie dei figli di Giuseppe, e parlarono davanti a Mosè e davanti ai prìncipi, capi delle case dei figli d'Israele.
2 “The Lord has instructed you, our ruler, so that you would divide the land by lot to the sons of Israel, and so that you would give to the daughters of Zelophehad, our brother, the possession owed to their father.	2 Dissero: "Il Signore ha ordinato al mio signore di dare la terra in eredità per sorte ai figli d'Israele, e il mio signore ha ricevuto ordine dal Signore di dare l'eredità di Zelofcad, nostro fratello, alle sue figlie.
3 But if men of another tribe receive them as wives, their possession will follow them, and having been transferred to another tribe, there will be a reduction in our inheritance.	3 Se andranno spose a uno dei figli delle altre tribù dei figli d'Israele, la loro eredità sarà sottratta dall'eredità dei nostri padri e sarà aggiunta all'eredità della tribù nella quale saranno entrate, e quello che abbiamo ereditato per sorte ci sarà sottratto.
4 And so it may be that, when the Jubilee of remission, that is, the fiftieth year, has arrived, the distribution by lots shall be confounded, and the possession of the one shall be transferred to others.”	4 Quando ci sarà il giubileo per i figli d'Israele, la loro eredità sarà aggiunta all'eredità della tribù nella quale saranno entrate, e la loro eredità sarà sottratta dall'eredità della tribù dei nostri padri".
5 Moses answered the sons of Israel, and, at the instruction of the Lord, he said: “The tribe of the sons of Joseph has spoken correctly.	5 Mosè comunicò ai figli d'Israele quest'ordine ricevuto dal Signore: "I figli di Giuseppe parlano bene.
6 And so, this is the law which has been promulgated by the Lord about the daughters of Zelophehad: Let them marry whomever they may wish, but only among the men of their own tribe,	6 Questo ha ordinato il Signore alle figlie di Zelofcad: "Esse saranno le mogli di chi va bene ai loro occhi: solo, saranno mogli nelle famiglie della tribù dei loro padri.
7 lest the possession of the sons of Israel become commingled, from tribe to tribe. For all men shall take wives from their own tribe and kinship;	7 L'eredità dei figli d'Israele non girerà da tribù a tribù, perché tra i figli d'Israele ognuno sarà attaccato all'eredità della tribù dei suoi padri.
8 and all women shall take husbands from their same tribe, so that the inheritance may remain within the families,	8 Ogni figlia che erediterà dalla tribù dei figli d'Israele sarà moglie in una delle famiglie della tribù di suo padre, in modo che ognuno dei figli d'Israele entri in possesso dell'eredità dei propri padri,
9 and so that the tribes may not be mingled together, but may remain such as they were separated by the Lord.”	9 e l'eredità non giri da tribù a tribù, perché le tribù dei figli d'Israele saranno attaccate, ognuna, alla propria eredità".
10 And the daughters of Zelophehad acted according to what was ordered.	10 Le figlie di Zelofcad fecero come il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè:
11 And Mahlah, and Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noa were wed to the sons of their paternal uncle,	11 Macla, Tirza, Ogla, Milca, Noa, figlie di Zelofcad, sposarono i figli dei loro zii.
12 from the family of Manasseh, who was a son of Joseph. And the possession which had been distributed to them remained in the tribe and family of their father.	12 Si maritarono nelle famiglie dei figli di Manasse, figlio di Giuseppe, e la loro eredità fu della tribù della famiglia dei loro padri.
13 These are the commandments and judgments which the Lord ordered by the hand of Moses to the sons of Israel, in the plains of Moab, above the Jordan, opposite Jericho.	13 Questi sono gli ordini e le disposizioni che il Signore diede per mezzo di Mosè ai figli d'Israele nella steppa di Moab, presso il Giordano di Gerico.
