1 Then the leaders of the families of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, from the stock of the sons of Joseph, approached and spoke to Moses before the leaders of Israel, and they said:	1 Előálltak ekkor Gileád nagycsaládjainak fejei – Gileád Mákirnak, Manassze fiának volt a fia – József fiainak nemzetségéből és így szóltak Mózeshez, Izrael fejedelmei előtt:
2 “The Lord has instructed you, our ruler, so that you would divide the land by lot to the sons of Israel, and so that you would give to the daughters of Zelophehad, our brother, the possession owed to their father.	2 »Neked, urunknak, azt parancsolta az Úr, hogy sors útján oszd el a földet Izrael fiai között, meg hogy Celofhád testvérünk lányainak add oda az atyjukat illető birtokot.
3 But if men of another tribe receive them as wives, their possession will follow them, and having been transferred to another tribe, there will be a reduction in our inheritance.	3 Ha ezeket más törzsből való emberek veszik feleségül, akkor birtokuk követi őket és más törzsre száll, s a mi örökségünk csökken.
4 And so it may be that, when the Jubilee of remission, that is, the fiftieth year, has arrived, the distribution by lots shall be confounded, and the possession of the one shall be transferred to others.”	4 Így aztán az fog történni, hogy amikor az örvendetes esztendő, vagyis a szabadulás ötvenedik esztendeje elérkezik, az, amit a sors szétosztott, összezavarodik, s az egyik törzs birtoka a másikra száll.«
5 Moses answered the sons of Israel, and, at the instruction of the Lord, he said: “The tribe of the sons of Joseph has spoken correctly.	5 Azt felelte és mondta erre Mózes az Úr parancsából Izrael fiainak: »József fiainak törzse helyesen szólt.
6 And so, this is the law which has been promulgated by the Lord about the daughters of Zelophehad: Let them marry whomever they may wish, but only among the men of their own tribe,	6 Ezt a törvényt hirdeti ki tehát az Úr Celofhád lányai felől: Férjhez mehetnek, akihez akarnak, de csak a saját törzsükből való emberhez,
7 lest the possession of the sons of Israel become commingled, from tribe to tribe. For all men shall take wives from their own tribe and kinship;	7 hogy ne szálljon át Izrael fiainak birtoka az egyik törzsről a másik törzsre. Azért minden férfi a maga törzséből, s a maga rokonságából vegyen feleséget,
8 and all women shall take husbands from their same tribe, so that the inheritance may remain within the families,	8 s minden nő ugyanabból a törzsből nyerjen férjet, hogy az örökség megmaradjon az egyes családokban,
9 and so that the tribes may not be mingled together, but may remain such as they were separated by the Lord.”	9 s ne keveredjenek össze egymással a törzsek, hanem úgy maradjanak, amint az Úr szétválasztotta őket.«
10 And the daughters of Zelophehad acted according to what was ordered.	10 Úgy is tettek Celofhád lányai, ahogy a parancs szólt,
11 And Mahlah, and Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noa were wed to the sons of their paternal uncle,	11 s Maála, Tirca, Hegla, Melka és Noa atyjuk bátyjának fiaihoz mentek feleségül;
12 from the family of Manasseh, who was a son of Joseph. 13 These are the commandments and judgments which the Lord ordered by the hand of Moses to the sons of Israel, in the plains of Moab, above the Jordan, opposite Jericho.	13 Ezek azok a parancsok és rendeletek, amelyeket az Úr Mózes által Moáb mezőségén, a Jordán mellett, Jerikóval átellenben parancsolt Izrael fiainak.
