Proverbs 2

1 My son, if you would accept my words, and conceal my commandments within you,	1 Figliuolo mio, se tu accettarai i miei parlari, e i miei precetti asconderai appresso a te,
2 so that your ears may listen to wisdom, then bend your heart in order to know prudence.	2 [acciò] che le tue orecchie audano la sapienza; inclina il cor tno a cognoscer la prudenza.
3 For if you would call upon wisdom and bend your heart to prudence,	3 Se tu invocherai la sapienza, e chinerai il cor tuo alla prudenza;
4 if you will seek her like money, and dig for her as if for treasure,	4 se tu la cercherai, come si cerca la pecunia, e caverai quella, come si cavano i tesori;
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and you will discover the knowledge of God.	5 allora intenderai lo timore del Signore, e la scienza di Dio troverai.
6 For the Lord bestows wisdom, and out of his mouth, prudence and knowledge.	6 Per che il Signore dà la sapienza; e dalla bocca sua procede la scienza e prudenza.
7 He will preserve the salvation of the righteous, and he will protect those who walk in simplicity:	7 Custodirà la salute degli uomini retti, e defenderà quelli vivono con simplicitade,
8 serving the paths of justice, and guarding the ways of sanctity.	8 quello il quale serva le vie della giustizia e le vie de' santi.
9 Then you shall understand justice and judgment, and equity, and every good path.	9 Allora intenderai la giustizia, il giudicio, e la equitade e ogni buona via.
10 If wisdom is to enter into your heart, and if knowledge is to become pleasing to your soul,	10 Se la sapienza intrarà nel cuor tuo, e se la scienza piacerà all' anima tua,
11 then counsel must guard you, and prudence must serve you,	11 il consiglio ti custodirà, la prudenza ti salverà,
12 so that you may be rescued from the evil way, and from the man who speaks perversities,	12 per tal modo che tu sarai liberato dalla mala via, e dagli uomini adulatori e detrattori;
13 from those who leave the straight path to walk in dark ways,	13 i quali abbandonano la via retta, e vanno per le vie tenebrose;
14 who rejoice when they have done evil, and who exult in the most wicked things.	14 i quali si rallegrano quando hanno fatto male, e fanno festa nelle pessime operazioni;
15 Their ways are perverse, and their steps are infamous.	15 de' quali le vie sono perverse, e la vita loro infame.
16 So may you be rescued from the foreign woman, and from the outsider, who softens her speech,	16 Acciò che tu sia liberato della femina strana, e mogliere d'altrui, la qual persuade con dolci parole,
17 and who leaves behind the Guide of her youth,	17 e abbandona quello che la guberna (cioè il marito suo),
18 and who has forgotten the covenant of her God. For her household inclines toward death, and her paths toward Hell.	18 ed èssi dimenticata del comandamento di Dio; la casa sua è inclinata alla morte, e le vie sue allo inferno.
19 All those who enter to her will not return again, nor will they take hold of the paths of life.	19 Tutti quelli intrano a quella, non torneranno, nè si accosteranno alle vie della vita.
20 So may you walk in the good way, and keep to the difficult paths of the just.	20 Acciò che tu vadi per la buona via; e sèguiti le operazioni degli uomini giusti.
21 For those who are upright shall live upon the earth, and the simple shall continue upon it.	21 Per che quelli, che sono retti, abiteranno nella terra, e gli simplici rimarranno in essa.
22 Yet truly, the impious shall perish from the earth, and those who act unjustly shall be taken away from it.	22 Ma gli empii si perderanno della terra; e quelli iniquamente òperano, si torranno. da quella.
