1 The Praise of a Canticle, of David. Whoever dwells with the assistance of the Most High will abide in the protection of the God of heaven.	1 Oración. De Moisés, hombre de Dios. Señor, tú has sido para nosotros un refugio de edad en edad.
2 He will say to the Lord, “You are my supporter and my refuge.” My God, I will hope in him.	2 Antes que los montes fuesen engendrados, antes que naciesen tierra y orbe, desde siempre hasta siempre tú eres Dios.
3 For he has freed me from the snare of those who go hunting, and from the harsh word.	3 Tú al polvo reduces a los hombres, diciendo: «¡Tornad, hijos de Adán!»
4 He will overshadow you with his shoulders, and you will hope under his wings.	4 Porque mil años a tus ojos son como el ayer, que ya pasó, como una vigilia de la noche.
5 His truth will surround you with a shield. You will not be afraid: before the terror of the night,	5 Tú los sumerges en un sueño, a la mañana serán como hierba que brota;
6 before the arrow flying in the day, before the troubles that wander in the darkness, nor of invasion and the midday demon.	6 por la mañana brota y florece, por la tarde se amustia y se seca.
7 A thousand will fall before your side and ten thousand before your right hand. Yet it will not draw near you.	7 Pues por tu cólera somos consumidos, por tu furor anonadados.
8 So then, truly, you will consider with your eyes, and you will see the retribution of sinners.	8 Has puesto nuestras culpas ante ti, a la luz de tu faz nuestras faltas secretas.
9 For you, O Lord, are my hope. You have set the Most High as your refuge.	9 Bajo tu enojo declinan todos nuestros días, como un suspiro consumimos nuestros años.
10 Disaster will not draw near to you, and the scourge will not approach your tabernacle.	10 Los años de nuestra vida son unos setenta, u ochenta, si hay vigor; mas son la mayor parte trabajo y vanidad, pues pasan presto y nosotros nos volamos.
11 For he has given his Angels charge over you, so as to preserve you in all your ways.	11 ¿Quién conoce la fuerza de tu cólera, y, temiéndote, tu indignación?
12 With their hands, they will carry you, lest you hurt your foot against a stone.	12 ¡Enseñanos a contar nuestros días, para que entre la sabiduría en nuestro corazón!
13 You will walk over the asp and the king serpent, and you will trample the lion and the dragon.	13 ¡Vuelve, Yahveh! ¿Hasta cuándo? Ten piedad de tus siervos.
14 Because he has hoped in me, I will free him. I will protect him because he has known my name.	14 Sácianos de tu amor a la mañana, que exultemos y cantemos toda nuestra vida.
15 He will cry out to me, and I will heed him. I am with him in tribulation. I will rescue him, and I will glorify him.	15 Devuélvenos en gozo los días que nos humillaste, los años en que desdicha conocimos.
16 I will fill him with length of days. And I will reveal to him my salvation.	16 ¡Que se vea tu obra con tus siervos, y tu esplendor sobre sus hijos!
	17 ¡La dulzura del Señor sea con nosotros! ¡Confirma tú la acción de nuestras manos!
