1 Unto the end. For those who will be changed: of David.	1 Al maestro del coro. Di Davide. Salmo. Canto.
2 Save me, O God, for the waters have entered, even to my soul.	2 Sorga Dio e siano dispersi i suoi nemicie fuggano davanti a lui quelli che lo odiano.
3 I have become stuck in a deep quagmire, and there is no firm footing. I have arrived at the height of the sea, and a tempest has overwhelmed me.	3 Come si dissolve il fumo, tu li dissolvi;come si scioglie la cera di fronte al fuoco,periscono i malvagi davanti a Dio.
4 I have endured hardships, while crying out. My jaws have become hoarse; my eyes have failed. Meanwhile, I hope in my God.	4 I giusti invece si rallegrano,esultano davanti a Dioe cantano di gioia.
5 Those who hate me without cause have been multiplied beyond the hairs of my head. My enemies, who persecuted me unjustly, have been strengthened. Then I was required to pay for what I did not take.	5 Cantate a Dio, inneggiate al suo nome,appianate la strada a colui che cavalca le nubi:Signore è il suo nome,esultate davanti a lui.
6 O God, you know my foolishness, and my offenses have not been hidden from you.	6 Padre degli orfani e difensore delle vedoveè Dio nella sua santa dimora.
7 Let those who wait for you, O Lord, the Lord of hosts, not be shamed in me. Let those who seek you, O God of Israel, not be confounded over me.	7 A chi è solo, Dio fa abitare una casa,fa uscire con gioia i prigionieri.Solo i ribelli dimorano in arida terra.
8 For because of you, I have endured reproach; confusion has covered my face.	8 O Dio, quando uscivi davanti al tuo popolo,quando camminavi per il deserto,
9 I have become a stranger to my brothers and a sojourner to the sons of my mother.	9 tremò la terra, i cieli stillaronodavanti a Dio, quello del Sinai,davanti a Dio, il Dio d’Israele.
10 For zeal for your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproached you have fallen upon me.	10 Pioggia abbondante hai riversato, o Dio,la tua esausta eredità tu hai consolidato
11 And I covered my soul with fasting, and it has become a reproach to me.	11 e in essa ha abitato il tuo popolo,in quella che, nella tua bontà,hai reso sicura per il povero, o Dio.
12 And I put on a haircloth as my garment, and I became a parable to them.	12 Il Signore annuncia una notizia,grande schiera sono le messaggere di vittoria:
13 Those who sat at the gate spoke against me, and those who drank wine made me their song.	13 «Fuggono, fuggono i re degli eserciti!Nel campo, presso la casa, ci si divide la preda.
14 But as for me, truly, my prayer is to you, O Lord. This time has pleased you well, O God. In the multitude of your mercy, in the truth of your salvation, hear me.	14 Non restate a dormire nei recinti!Splendono d’argento le ali della colomba,di riflessi d’oro le sue piume».
15 Rescue me from the quagmire, so that I may not become trapped. Free me from those who hate me and from deep waters.	15 Quando l’Onnipotente là disperdeva i re,allora nevicava sul Salmon.
16 Do not allow the tempest of water to submerge me, nor the deep to absorb me. And do not allow the well to close in on me.	16 Montagna eccelsa è il monte di Basan,montagna dalle alte cime è il monte di Basan.
17 Hear me, O Lord, for your mercy is kind. Look upon me, according to the fullness of your compassion.	17 Perché invidiate, montagne dalle alte cime,la montagna che Dio ha desiderato per sua dimora?Il Signore l’abiterà per sempre.
18 And do not turn your face away from your servant, for I am in trouble: heed me quickly.	18 I carri di Dio sono miriadi, migliaia gli arcieri:il Signore è tra loro, sul Sinai, in santità.
19 Attend to my soul, and free it. Rescue me, because of my enemies.	19 Sei salito in alto e hai fatto prigionieri –dagli uomini hai ricevuto tributie anche dai ribelli –,perché là tu dimori, Signore Dio!
20 You know my reproach, and my confusion, and my reverence.	20 Di giorno in giorno benedetto il Signore:a noi Dio porta la salvezza.
21 All those who trouble me are in your sight; my heart has anticipated reproach and misery. And I sought for one who might grieve together with me, but there was no one, and for one who might console me, and I found no one.	21 Il nostro Dio è un Dio che salva;al Signore Dio appartengono le porte della morte.
22 And they gave me gall for my food. And in my thirst, they gave me vinegar to drink.	22 Sì, Dio schiaccerà il capo dei suoi nemici,la testa dai lunghi capelli di chi percorre la via del delitto.
23 Let their table be a snare before them, and a retribution, and a scandal.	23 Ha detto il Signore: «Da Basan li farò tornare,li farò tornare dagli abissi del mare,
24 Let their eyes be darkened, so that they may not see, and may their back always be crooked.	24 perché il tuo piede si bagni nel sanguee la lingua dei tuoi cani riceva la sua parte tra i nemici».
25 Pour out your indignation upon them, and may the fury of your anger take hold of them.	25 Appare il tuo corteo, Dio,il corteo del mio Dio, del mio re, nel santuario.
26 May their dwelling place be deserted, and may there be no one who dwells in their tabernacles.	26 Precedono i cantori, seguono i suonatori di cetra,insieme a fanciulle che suonano tamburelli.
27 For they persecuted whomever you struck. And they have added to the grief of my wounds.	27 «Benedite Dio nelle vostre assemblee,benedite il Signore, voi della comunità d’Israele».
28 Assign an iniquity upon their iniquity, and may they not enter into your justice.	28 Ecco Beniamino, un piccolo che guidai capi di Giuda, la loro schiera,i capi di Zàbulon, i capi di Nèftali.
29 Delete them from the Book of the Living, and let them not be written down with the just.	29 Mostra, o Dio, la tua forza,conferma, o Dio, quanto hai fatto per noi!
30 I am poor and sorrowful, but your salvation, O God, has taken me up.	30 Per il tuo tempio, in Gerusalemme,i re ti porteranno doni.
31 I will praise the name of God with a canticle, and I will magnify him with praise.	31 Minaccia la bestia del canneto,quel branco di bufali, quell’esercito di tori,che si prostrano a idoli d’argento;disperdi i popoli che amano la guerra!
32 And it will please God more than a new calf producing horns and hoofs.	32 Verranno i grandi dall’Egitto,l’Etiopia tenderà le mani a Dio.
33 Let the poor see and rejoice. Seek God, and your soul will live.	33 Regni della terra, cantate a Dio,cantate inni al Signore,
34 For the Lord has heard the poor, and he has not despised his prisoners.	34 a colui che cavalca nei cieli, nei cieli eterni.Ecco, fa sentire la sua voce, una voce potente!
35 Let the heavens and the earth praise him: the sea, and everything that crawls in it.	35 Riconoscete a Dio la sua potenza,la sua maestà sopra Israele,la sua potenza sopra le nubi.
36 For God will save Zion, and the cities of Judah will be built up. And they will dwell there, and they will acquire it by inheritance.	36 Terribile tu sei, o Dio, nel tuo santuario.È lui, il Dio d’Israele, che dà forza e vigore al suo popolo.Sia benedetto Dio!
37 And the offspring of his servants will possess it; and those who love his name will dwell in it.
