1 A Psalm of David. When he fled from the face of his son, Absalom.	1 De David. Quand il s’enfuit devant son fils Absalom.
2 Lord, why have those who trouble me been multiplied? Many rise up against me.	2 Ô Seigneur, mes ennemis se sont multipliés, combien d’adversaires!
3 Many say to my soul, “There is no salvation for him in his God.”	3 Combien osent me dire: “Dieu ne te servira de rien!”
4 But you, Lord, are my supporter, my glory, and the one who raises up my head.	4 Mais toi, Seigneur, mon bouclier protecteur, ma gloire, tu me feras relever la tête.
5 I have cried out to the Lord with my voice, and he has heard me from his holy mountain.	5 3:8 Lève-toi, Seigneur, Sauve-moi, ô mon Dieu.
6 I have slept, and I have been stupefied. But I awakened because the Lord has taken me up.	6 3:5 Je crie, j’appelle le Seigneur, et lui, de sa montagne sainte, il m’entend.
7 I will not fear the thousands of people surrounding me. Rise up, Lord. Save me, my God.	7 3:6 Je me suis couché et j’ai dormi, puis je me suis relevé: le Seigneur me tenait debout.
8 For you have struck all those who oppose me without cause. You have broken the teeth of sinners.	8 3:7 Je ne crains plus ces foules qui de toutes parts allaient tomber sur moi. 8b Car tu as frappé: mes ennemis l’ont eu dans la mâchoire; tu as brisé les dents des pécheurs.
9 Salvation is of the Lord, and your blessing is upon your people.	9 C’est toi, Seigneur, qui sauves, ta bénédiction est sur ton peuple.
