1 Thessalonians 1

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Paul, Silvanus and Timothy, to the Church in Thessalonica which is in God the Father and the LordJesus Christ. Grace to you and peace.	1 Paolo, Silvano e Timoteo alla chiesa dei Tessalonicesi, in Dio Padre e nel Signore Gesù Cristo, grazia a voi e pace.
2 We always thank God for you al , mentioning you in our prayers continually.	2 Rendiamo grazie a Dio sempre per tutti voi, ricordandovi nelle nostre orazioni,
3 We remember before our God and Father how active is the faith, how unsparing the love, howpersevering the hope which you have from our Lord Jesus Christ.	3 avendo incessantemente presente, davanti a Dio e nostro Padre, l'opera della vostra fede, lo sforzo della vostra carità, la fermezza della vostra speranza, nel Signore nostro Gesù Cristo.
4 We know, brothers loved by God, that you have been chosen,	4 Conosciamo, o fratelli amati da Dio, la vostra elezione,
5 because our gospel came to you not only in words, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and withgreat effect. And you observed the sort of life we lived when we were with you, which was for your sake.	5 poiché il nostro vangelo non è giunto a voi soltanto a parole ma anche con potenza, con effusione dello Spirito Santo e con piena convinzione. Sapete infatti come ci siamo comportati in mezzo a voi per il vostro bene.
6 You took us and the Lord as your model, welcoming the word with the joy of the Holy Spirit in spite ofgreat hardship.	6 E voi siete diventati imitatori nostri e del Signore, accogliendo la parola in mezzo a molta tribolazione con gioia di Spirito Santo,
7 And so you became an example to al believers in Macedonia and Achaia	7 sì da divenire voi esempio a tutti i credenti in Macedonia e in Acaia.
8 since it was from you that the word of the Lord rang out -- and not only throughout Macedonia andAchaia, for your faith in God has spread everywhere. We do not need to tel other people about it:	8 Da voi, infatti, la parola del Signore è risuonata non solo in Macedonia ed in Acaia, ma in ogni luogo si è diffusa la fama della vostra fede in Dio, tanto da non avere noi bisogno di parlare.
9 other people tel us how we started the work among you, how you broke with the worship of false godswhen you were converted to God and became servants of the living and true God;	9 Gli stessi abitanti, infatti, raccontano di noi, quale accoglienza abbiamo avuto da voi e come vi siete convertiti a Dio dagli idoli, per servire il Dio vivo e vero,
10 and how you are now waiting for Jesus, his Son, whom he raised from the dead, to come fromheaven. It is he who saves us from the Retribution which is coming.	10 e per aspettare dai cieli il suo Figlio, che egli risuscitò dai morti, Gesù, che ci libera dall'ira che viene.
