Luke 5

NEW JERUSALEM	Біблія
1 Now it happened that he was standing one day by the Lake of Gennesaret, with the crowd pressinground him listening to the word of God,	1 Одного разу, коли народ юрмився коло нього, щоб почути слово Боже, і він стояв біля Генезаретського озера,
2 when he caught sight of two boats at the water's edge. The fishermen had got out of them and werewashing their nets.	2 побачив два човни, що стояли край озера; рибалки вийшли з них і полоскали сіті.
3 He got into one of the boats -- it was Simon's -- and asked him to put out a little from the shore. Then hesat down and taught the crowds from the boat.	3 Він увійшов в один з човнів, що належав Симонові, і попросив його відплисти трохи від землі, а сам, сівши, з човна почав народ учити.
4 When he had finished speaking he said to Simon, 'Put out into deep water and pay out your nets for acatch.'	4 Коли він перестав говорити, сказав до Симона: «Відчали на глибінь та й закиньте ваші сіті на ловитву.»
5 Simon replied, 'Master, we worked hard al night long and caught nothing, but if you say so, I wil payout the nets.'	5 Озвався Симон і каже: «Наставнику, всю ніч трудились ми й нічого не піймали, але на твоє слово закину сіті.»
6 And when they had done this they netted such a huge number of fish that their nets began to tear,	6 Так вони й зробили, і піймали велику силу риби, і їхні сіті почали рватися.
7 so they signal ed to their companions in the other boat to come and help them; when these came, theyfilled both boats to sinking point.	7 Тоді вони кивнули до своїх товаришів, що були в другім човні, щоб ті прийшли й допомогли їм. Прийшли вони й наповнили обидва човни, аж почали потопати.
8 When Simon Peter saw this he fel at the knees of Jesus saying, 'Leave me, Lord; I am a sinful man.'	8 Побачивши це Симон Петро, припав до колін Ісуса й каже: «Іди від мене, Господи, бо я грішна людина.»
9 For he and all his companions were completely awestruck at the catch they had made;	9 Жах бо великий огорнув його й усіх, що були з ним, із-за риб, що їх піймали;
10 so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were Simon's partners. But Jesus said to Simon,'Do not be afraid; from now on it is people you wil be catching.'	10 також і Якова та Йоана, синів Заведея, які були спільниками Симона. Ісус же промовив до Симона: «Не бійся! Віднині людей будеш ловити.»
11 Then, bringing their boats back to land they left everything and fol owed him.	11 І витягши човна на берег, кинули все й пішли слідом за ним.
12 Now it happened that Jesus was in one of the towns when suddenly a man appeared, covered with askin-disease. Seeing Jesus he fel on his face and implored him saying, 'Sir, if you are wil ing you can cleanseme.'	12 І от, як він був в однім з міст, з’явився чоловік, увесь у проказі. Побачивши Ісуса, він упав ниць і почав його благати: «Господи, якщо ти хочеш, можеш мене зробити чистим.»
13 He stretched out his hand, and touched him saying, 'I am wil ing. Be cleansed.' At once the skin-disease left him.	13 Ісус простягнув руку, доторкнувсь до нього і каже: «Хочу, очисться!» І вмить покинула його проказа.
14 He ordered him to tell no one, 'But go and show yourself to the priest and make the offering for yourcleansing just as Moses prescribed, as evidence to them.'	14 І наказав йому: «Нікому не говори, але йди та покажись священикові і принеси дар за твоє очищення, як наказав Мойсей, їм на свідоцтво.»
15 But the news of him kept spreading, and large crowds would gather to hear him and to have theiril nesses cured,	15 Чутка про нього ширилась дедалі більше, і сила людей збігалася, щоб його почути й вилікуватись від своїх недуг.
16 but he would go off to some deserted place and pray.	16 Та він відходив у місця самітні й молився.
17 Now it happened that he was teaching one day, and Pharisees and teachers of the Law, who hadcome from every vil age in Galilee, from Judaea and from Jerusalem, were sitting there. And the power of theLord was there so that he should heal.	17 Раз якось, коли Ісус навчав, були при тому фарисеї та учителі закону, що поприходили з усіх сіл Галилеї та Юдеї і з Єрусалиму; і сила Господня була на ньому, щоб оздоровляти.
18 And now some men appeared, bringing on a bed a paralysed man whom they were trying to bring inand lay down in front of him.	18 Аж ось люди несуть на ліжку чоловіка, що був розслаблений; вони шукали способу, як би його внести та перед ним покласти.
19 But as they could find no way of getting the man through the crowd, they went up onto the top of thehouse and lowered him and his stretcher down through the tiles into the middle of the gathering, in front ofJesus.	19 І, не знайшовши, кудою б його внести через натовп, вилізли на крівлю і крізь череп’яну стелю спустили його з ліжком на середину перед Ісуса.
20 Seeing their faith he said, 'My friend, your sins are forgiven you.'	20 Бачивши їхню віру, Ісус мовив: «Чоловіче, прощаються тобі твої гріхи!»
21 The scribes and the Pharisees began to think this over. 'Who is this man, talking blasphemy? Who butGod alone can forgive sins?'	21 А книжники та фарисеї почали міркувати: «Хто це такий, що говорить богохульства? Хто може гріхи відпускати, крім одного Бога?»
22 But Jesus, aware of their thoughts, made them this reply, 'What are these thoughts you have in yourhearts?	22 А Ісус же, знаючи думки їхні, відповів їм: «Чому так думаєте в серцях ваших?
23 Which of these is easier: to say, "Your sins are forgiven you," or to say, "Get up and walk"?	23 Що легше, сказати: Відпускаються тобі твої гріхи, — чи сказати: Встань і ходи?
24 But to prove to you that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins,' -- he said to theparalysed man-'I order you: get up, and pick up your stretcher and go home.'	24 Та щоб ви знали, що Син Чоловічий має владу на землі гріхи відпускати», — мовив розслабленому: «Кажу тобі: Встань, візьми твоє ліжко та й іди додому.»
25 And immediately before their very eyes he got up, picked up what he had been lying on and wenthome praising God.	25 І вмить він устав у них перед очима, взяв те, на чому лежав, і пішов до свого дому, славлячи Бога.
26 They were all astounded and praised God and were fil ed with awe, saying, 'We have seen strangethings today.'	26 А всі остовпіли від здивування та прославляли Бога. Вони переповнилися страхом і казали: «Сьогодні бачили ми дивні речі.»
27 When he went out after this, he noticed a tax collector, Levi by name, sitting at the tax office, and saidto him, 'Fol ow me.'	27 Після цього він вийшов, побачив митника, Леві на ім’я, що сидів на митниці, і сказав до нього: «Ходи за мною!»
28 And leaving everything Levi got up and fol owed him.	28 І той, кинувши все, встав і пішов за ним.
29 In his honour Levi held a great reception in his house, and with them at table was a large gathering oftax col ectors and others.	29 Потім Леві справив для нього бенкет великий у своїй хаті; була ж там з ними за столом велика сила митарів та інших.
30 The Pharisees and their scribes complained to his disciples and said, 'Why do you eat and drink withtax col ectors and sinners?'	30 Фарисеї та їхні книжники нарікали і, звертаючись до його учнів, говорили: «Чого ви з митарями й грішниками їсте й п’єте?»
31 Jesus said to them in reply, 'It is not those that are wel who need the doctor, but the sick.	31 Ісус у відповідь сказав їм: «Не ті, що при добрім здоров’ї, потребують лікаря, лише — хворі.
32 I have come to cal not the upright but sinners to repentance.'	32 Я прийшов, не щоб праведників кликати до покаяння, а грішних.»
33 They then said to him, 'John's disciples are always fasting and saying prayers, and the disciples of thePharisees, too, but yours go on eating and drinking.'	33 А вони йому сказали: «Учні Йоана постять часто й моляться, так само й учні фарисеїв, а твої їдять та п’ють!»
34 Jesus replied, 'Surely you cannot make the bridegroom's attendants fast while the bridegroom is stillwith them?	34 Ісус же до них промовив: «Чи ж можете примусити постити весільних гостей, поки молодий з ними?
35 But the time wil come when the bridegroom is taken away from them; then, in those days, they wilfast.'	35 Прийдуть дні, коли візьмуть від них молодого, тоді будуть постити в ті дні.»
36 He also told them a parable, 'No one tears a piece from a new cloak to put it on an old cloak;otherwise, not only wil the new one be torn, but the piece taken from the new wil not match the old.	36 Він їм сказав також цю притчу: «Ніхто не відриває латки від нової одежини й не пришиває її до старої, а то порве й нову, і латка від нової не підійде до старої.
37 'And nobody puts new wine in old wineskins; otherwise, the new wine wil burst the skins and run towaste, and the skins wil be ruined.	37 Ніхто також не вливає молодого вина до старих бурдюків, а то нове вино прорве бурдюки, й само вино розіллється, і бурдюки пропадуть.
38 No; new wine must be put in fresh skins.	38 Але треба вливати молоде вино до нових бурдюків.
39 And nobody who has been drinking old wine wants new. "The old is good," he says.'	39 І ніхто, що п’є старе вино, нового не захоче, бо каже: Старе ліпше.»
