Zechariah 1

NEW JERUSALEM	Біблія
1 In the second year of Darius, in the eighth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to the prophetZechariah (son of Berechiah), son of Iddo, as fol ows,	1 Восьмого місяця, другого року Дарія, надійшло таке слово Господнє до Захарії, сина Берехії, сина Іддо, пророка:
2 'Yahweh was deeply angry with your ancestors.	2 «Прогнівавсь Господь вельми на батьків ваших;
3 So say this to them, "Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Return to me -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- and I willreturn to you, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	3 тому скажи їм: Так говорить Господь сил: Поверніться до мене, — слово Господа сил, — і я повернусь до вас, говорить Господь сил.
4 Do not be like your ancestors when the prophets in the past cried to them: Yahweh Sabaoth says this:Turn back from your evil ways and evil deeds -- they would not listen or pay attention to me -- Yahweh declares.	4 Не будьте, як батьки ваші, до яких взивали перші пророки, кажучи: Так говорить Господь- сил: Верніться з ледачих доріг ваших і від лихих учинків ваших. Та вони не слухали й на мене не зважали, — слово Господнє.
5 Where are your ancestors now? And the prophets, do they live for ever?	5 Батьки ваші — де вони? Та й пророки — чи будуть жити вічно?
6 But did not my words and statutes, with which I had charged my servants the prophets, overtake yourancestors just the same?" ' So they repented and said, 'Yahweh Sabaoth has treated us as he resolved to do,and as our ways and deeds deserved.'	6 Слова ж мої й постанови, що я заповідав слугам моїм, пророкам, чи не дійшли до батьків ваших? Вони повернулись і сказали: Як призначив Господь сил зробити нам, згідно з нашими путями й нашими вчинками, так і зробив з нами.»
7 On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month (the month of Shebat), in the second year of Darius, theword of Yahweh was addressed to the prophet Zechariah (son of Berechiah), son of Iddo, as fol ows,	7 Двадцять четвертого дня одинадцятого місяця, місяця Шевата, другого року Дарія, надійшло таке слово Господнє до Захарії, сина Берехії, сина Іддо, пророка.
8 'I had a vision during the night. There was a man riding a red horse standing among the deep-rootedmyrtles; behind him were other horses-red, chestnut and white.	8 Бачив я вночі, аж ось чоловік верхи на коні гнідому стоїть між чорницями, що в глибині. А за ним коні гніді, вороні й білі.
9 I said, "What are these, my lord?" And the angel who was talking to me said, "I will show you what they are."	9 Я спитав: «Хто вони, мій Владико?» І сказав до мене ангел, що розмовляв зо мною: «Я покажу тобі, хто вони.»
10 The man standing among the myrtles then replied, "Those are they whom Yahweh has sent to patrolthe world."	10 Тоді озвався чоловік, що стояв між чорницями, і мовив: «Це ті, що Господь послав пройти туди й сюди землю.»
11 They reported to the angel of Yahweh as he stood among the myrtles, "We have been patrol ing theworld, and indeed the whole world is stil and at peace."	11 І вони відповіли ангелові Господньому, що стояв між чорницями, й сказали: «Ми пройшли туди й сюди землю, і ось уся земля сидить спокійно й тихо.»
12 The angel of Yahweh then spoke and said, "Yahweh Sabaoth, how long wil you wait before taking pityon Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, on which you have inflicted your anger for the past seventy years?"	12 Тоді ангел Господній озвався й мовив: «Господи сил, докіль не матимеш жалю над Єрусалимом і над містами Юди, на яких гніваєшся повних сімдесят років?»
13 Yahweh then replied with kind and comforting words to the angel who was talking to me.	13 І відповів Господь до ангела, що розмовляв зо мною словами добрими, відрадними словами.
14 The angel who was talking to me then said to me, "Make this proclamation: Yahweh Sabaoth saysthis: I am burning with jealousy for Jerusalem and Zion	14 І сказав до мене ангел, що розмовляв зо мною: «Оповісти уголос і скажи: Так говорить Господь сил: Я повен ревнощів до Єрусалиму й до Сіону.
15 but am deeply angry with the nations now at ease; before, I was only mildly angry, but they contributedto the disaster.	15 Я гніваюсь великим гнівом проти народів, що живуть собі вигідно, бо коли я гнівався був трохи, вони множили лихо.»
16 So now Yahweh says this: In compassion I have returned to Jerusalem; my Temple will be rebuiltthere -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- and the measuring line wil be stretched over Jerusalem.	16 Тому ось як говорить Господь: «Я вертаюся знов до Єрусалиму з милосердям; мій дім буде збудований у ньому, — слово Господа сил, — і шворка буде протягнена над Єрусалимом.
17 Make this proclamation too: Yahweh Sabaoth says this: My cities are once more to be veryprosperous. Yahweh will comfort Zion once again, and again make Jerusalem his choice." '	17 Знову оповісти уголос і скажи: Так говорить Господь сил: Мої міста знову переповняться благом, Господь ще потішить Сіон і знову вибере Єрусалим.»
