Hosea 12

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Ephraim besieges me with lying, the House of Israel with duplicity. (But Judah stil is on God's side, heis faithful to the Holy One.)	1 Efraím me ha rodeado de mentira y la casa de Israel, de falsedad. –Pero Judá está todavía cerca de Dios y se mantiene fiel al muy Santo–.
2 Ephraim feeds himself on wind, all day he chases the wind from the East, he heaps up cheating andviolence; they make a treaty with Assyria, at the same time sending oil to Egypt.	2 Efraím se apacienta de viento y corre todo el día tras el viento del este; multiplica el fraude y la devastación; hacen una alianza con Asiria y llevan aceite a Egipto.
3 Yahweh has a case against Judah, he will punish Jacob as his conduct merits, he will repay him as hisdeeds deserve.	3 El Señor tiene un pleito con Israel, pedirá a Jacob de su conducta, le retribuirá según sus acciones.
4 In the very womb he overreached his brother, in maturity he wrestled against God.	4 En el seno materno suplantó a su hermano y cuando fue adulto luchó con Dios.
5 He wrestled with the angel and beat him, he wept and pleaded with him. He met him at Bethel andthere God spoke to us-	5 Luchó con el Angel y venció, lloró y le imploró. En Betel lo encontró, y allí Dios habló con él.
6 yes, Yahweh, God Sabaoth, Yahweh is his title!	6 –¡El Señor es el Dios de los ejércitos: «el Señor» es su nombre!–.
7 So turn back with God's help, maintain faithful love and loyalty and always put your trust in your God.	7 Tú volverás con la ayuda de tu Dios: observa la fidelidad y la rectitud, y espera siempre en tu Dios.
8 Merchants use fraudulent scales. To defraud is his delight.	8 Canaán tiene en su mano balanzas falsas, le gusta defraudar.
9 'How rich I have become!' says Ephraim, 'I have made a fortune.' But of al his gains he wil keepnothing because of the sin of which he is guilty.	9 Efraím dijo: «Sí, yo me enriquecí, he amasado una fortuna; pero en todas mis ganancias, no encontrarán en mí ningún delito que sea pecado».
10 But I have been Yahweh your God since your days in Egypt and will make you live in tents again asin the days of Meeting.	10 Yo soy el Señor, tu Dios, desde el país de Egipto: te haré habitar de nuevo en carpas, como en los días del Encuentro.
11 I will speak through prophets, I will give vision after vision and through the ministry of prophets wilspeak in parables.	11 Yo hablaré a los profetas y multiplicaré las visiones, y por medio de los profetas, hablaré en parábolas.
12 Is Gilead a sink of iniquity? Yes, they are a worthless lot! At Gilgal they sacrifice to bulls, that is whytheir altars are like heaps of stones in a ploughed field.	12 Galaad es pura falsedad, ellos se han convertido en nada; en Guilgal sacrifican toros: así sus altares serán como un montón de piedras sobre los surcos del campo.
13 Jacob fled to the countryside of Aram, Israel slaved to win a wife, to win a wife he looked after sheep.	13 Jacob huyó a los campos de Aram. Israel sirvió por una mujer y por una mujer, cuidó los rebaños.
14 By a prophet Yahweh brought Israel out of Egypt and by a prophet Israel was preserved.	14 Pero, por un profeta, el Señor hizo subir a Israel de Egipto, y por un profeta él fue protegido.
15 Ephraim gave bitter provocation- Yahweh will bring his bloodshed down on him, his Lord wil repayhim for his insult.	15 Efraím apenó a Dios amargamente: su Señor arrojará sobre él la sangre vertida, y le devolverá sus agravios.
