NEW JERUSALEM	Biblija Hrvatski
1 She is the book of God's commandments, the Law that stands for ever; those who keep her shal live,those who desert her shal die.	1 Ona je knjiga Božjih zapovijedi, Zakon koji će trajati dovijeka: tko ga se držao bude, taj će živjeti; tko ga napusti, taj će umrijeti.
2 Turn back, Jacob, seize her, in her radiance make your way to light:	2 Vrati se, Jakove, i prihvati je, hodi k sjaju, k njenoj svjetlosti:
3 do not yield your glory to another, your privilege to a people not your own.	3 ne ustupaj slavu svoju drugomu, ni dostojanstvo svoje narodu tuđemu.
4 Israel, blessed are we: what pleases God has been revealed to us!	4 Blago nama, Izraele, jer nam je otkriveno što je Bogu po volji!
5 Take courage, my people, memorial of Israel!	5 Ohrabri se, narode moj, spomene Izraelov!
6 You were sold to the nations, but not for extermination. You provoked God; and so were delivered toyour enemies,	6 Bili ste prodani narodima, ali ne na uništenje. Boga ste razgnjevili, stoga biste izručeni neprijateljima;
7 since you had angered your Creator by offering sacrifices to demons, and not to God.	7 Stvoritelja svog ste izazvali žrtvujući zlodusima, a ne Bogu.
8 You had forgotten the eternal God who reared you. You had also grieved Jerusalem who nursed you,	8 Zaboravili ste Boga vječnog, svoga hranioca! Ožalostili ste i Jeruzalem – majku koja vas je othranila.
9 for when she saw God's anger fal ing on you, she said: Listen, you neighbours of Zion: God has sent megreat sorrow.	9 Kada je vidjela gdje se na vas obara gnjev od Boga, stade naricati: »Slušajte, susjede sionske: u tugu veliku zavi me Gospod.
10 I have seen my sons and daughters taken into captivity, which the Eternal brought down on them.	10 Vidjeh gdje mi u sužanjstvo izruči Vječni sinove i kćeri.
11 I had reared them joyful y; in tears, in sorrow, I watched them go away.	11 S radošću sam ih hranila, s tugom i plačem gledam gdje odlaze.
12 Do not, any of you, exult over me, a widow, deserted by so many; I am bereaved because of the sinsof my children, who turned away from the Law of God,	12 Nitko nek' se nada mnom ne raduje što obudovjeh i ostadoh sama. Zbog grijeha djece svoje opustjeh, jer se okrenuše od Božjeg zakona.
13 who did not want to know his precepts and would not fol ow the ways of his commandments or treadthe paths of discipline as his justice directed.	13 Nisu marili za njegove zapovijedi niti išli putovima njegovih propisa, niti stupali stazom stege u njegovoj pravednosti.
14 Come here, neighbours of Zion! Remember my sons' and daughters' captivity, which the Eternalbrought down on them.	14 Dođite, susjede sionske! Gledajte gdje mi u sužanjstvo predaje Vječni sinove i kćeri!
15 How he brought a distant nation down on them, a ruthless nation speaking a foreign language, theyshowed neither respect for the aged, nor pity for the child;	15 Doveo je na njih narod iz daljine, narod drzak, tuđega jezika, bez poštovanja prema starcu, bez smilovanja prema djetetu;
16 they carried off the widow's cherished sons, they left her quite alone, bereft of her daughters.	16 odvedoše udovi ljubimce, ostaviše je samu, bez kćeri.
17 For my part, how could I help you?	17 Kako bih vam mogla ja pomoći?
18 He who brought those disasters down on you, is the one to deliver you from your enemies' clutches.	18 Samo onaj koji dovede na vas ove nevolje izbavit' vas može iz ruku neprijatelja.
19 Go, my children, go your way! I must stay bereft and lonely;	19 Idite, djeco, otiđite svojim putem! Ja ostajem napuštena, samotna;
20 I have taken off the clothes of peace and put on the sackcloth of entreaty; al my life I shal cry to theEternal.	20 skinuh haljinu mira, odjenuh se u kostrijet svojih vapaja: sve dane svoje zazivat ću Vječnoga.
21 Take courage, my children, cal on God: he wil deliver you from tyranny, from the clutches of yourenemies;	21 Ohrabrite se, djeco, zavapite Bogu: on će vas izbaviti iz nasilja, iz ruku neprijateljâ.
22 for I look to the Eternal for your rescue, and joy has come to me from the Holy One at the mercy soonto reach you from your Saviour, the Eternal.	22 Jer u Vječnog se uzdam, on će vas spasiti; od Svetoga očekujem radost: uskoro na vas će se smilovati, Vječni, spasitelj vaš.
23 In sorrow and tears I watched you go away, but God wil give you back to me in joy and gladness forever.	23 S tugom i plačem vidjeh vas gdje odlazite, ali Bog će vas meni vratiti s radošću i klicanjem za sva vremena.
24 As the neighbours of Zion have now witnessed your captivity, so wil they soon see your rescue byGod, which wil come upon you with great glory and splendour of the Eternal.	24 Kao što susjede sionske vidješe gdje vas zasužnjuju, tako će naskoro vidjeti gdje će vas izbaviti Bog, koji će doći u velikoj slavi i sjaju Vječnoga.
25 My children, patiently bear the anger brought on you by God. Your enemy has persecuted you, butsoon you wil witness his destruction and set your foot on his neck.	25 Djeco moja, podnesite pokaranje što se obori na vas od Boga. Neprijatelj te progonio, al' uskoro vidjet ćeš njegovu propast, na njegovu ćeš šiju staviti nogu.
26 My favourite children have travel ed by rough roads, carried off like a flock by a marauding enemy.	26 Moja su nježna djeca hodila grubim putovima, otjerana kao stado što ga ote neprijatelj.
27 Take courage, my children, cal on God: he who brought this on you wil remember you.	27 Ohrabrite se, djeco, zavapite Bogu: Onaj koji vas stavi na kušnju, on će vas se spomenuti.
28 As by your wil you first strayed from God, so now turn back and search for him ten times harder;	28 Ako vam je misao, zastranivši, bila daleko od Boga, vratite se i tražite ga revnošću deseterostrukom.
29 for as he has been bringing down those disasters on you, so wil he rescue you and give you eternaljoy.	29 Jer onaj koji je na vas nesreću doveo, vašim će spasenjem vratiti vam vječnu radost.
30 Take courage, Jerusalem: he who gave you your name wil console you.	30 Ohrabri se, Jeruzaleme, utješit će te onaj koji ti dade ime.
31 Disaster wil come to al who have il -treated you and gloated over your fal .	31 Jao onima koji te zlostavljaju, koji se vesele tvojoj propasti!
32 Disaster wil come to the cities where your children were slaves; disaster to whichever one receivedyour children,	32 Jao gradovima kojima su tvoja djeca robovala, teško onom koji ti odvede sinove!
33 for just as she rejoiced at your fal and was happy to see you ruined, so wil she grieve over her owndesolation.	33 Jer kao što je uživao u tvojemu padu i tvojoj se propasti radovao, tako će tugovati nad svojim opustošenjem.
34 I shall deprive her of the joy of a populous city, and her insolence wil turn to mourning;	34 Neće se veseliti mnogome pučanstvu, obijest će mu se preobratit' u tugovanje,
35 fire from the Eternal wil befall her for many a day, and demons wil dwel in her for ages.	35 od Vječnoga na nj će doći oganj za mnogo dana, i za dugo vrijeme bit će stan zlodusima.
36 Jerusalem, turn your eyes to the east, see the joy that is coming to you from God.	36 Obazri se na istok, Jeruzaleme, vidi radost što ti dolazi od Boga.
37 Look, the children you watched go away are on their way home; reassembled from east and west, theyare on their way home at the Holy One's command, rejoicing in God's glory.	37 Evo, vraćaju ti se sinovi koje si vidio gdje odlaze, sabiru se u tebi od istoka do zapada na zapovijed Svetoga i kliču u slavu Božju.
