Jeremiah 50

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 The word that Yahweh spoke against Babylon, against the country of the Chaldaeans, through theprophet Jeremiah.	1 Questo è il parlare che fu fatto dal Signore, per la mano di Ieremia profeta, di Babilonia e della terra de' Caldei:
2 Announce it to the nations, proclaim it, hoist a signal and proclaim it, making no secret of it, say,'Babylon is captured, Bel disgraced, Marduk shattered. (Her idols are disgraced, her Obscenities shattered.)'	2 Nelle genti raccontate, e fate essere udito : levate il segno, predicate e non vogliate nascondere; dite egli è pigliata Babilonia, egli è confuso Bel, egli è vinto Merodac, sonsi confuse tutte le idola loro, sonosi superchiati loro simulacri.
3 For a nation is marching on her from the north, to turn her country into a desert: no one will live thereany more; human and animal have fled and gone.	3 Imperò che contra quella ascenderà la gente d' aquilone, la quale ponerà la sua terra in solitudine; e non v'è cui abiti in essa, dall' uomo insino all' animale; e sonsi mossi, e partironsi.
4 In those days and at that time the people of Israel will return (they and the people of Judah); they wilcome weeping in search of Yahweh their God.	4 In quelli giorni e in quello tempo, dice il Signore, verranno li figliuoli d' Israel, e insieme li figliuoli di Giuda; andaranno prestamente piangendo, e cercaranno il Signore Iddio suo.
5 They will ask the way to Zion and turn their faces towards her, 'Come, let us bind ourselves to Yahwehby an everlasting covenant never to be forgotten!'	5 Addimandaranno la via in Sion; quivi verranno loro faccie. Accostaransi al Signore in sempiterno patto, che per nulla dismenticanza sarà scancellato.
6 Lost sheep, such were my people; their shepherds led them astray, the mountains misled them; frommountain to hil they went, forgetful of their fold.	6 Fatto è il populo mio, gregge perduto; li loro pastori li hanno sedutti, e hannoli fatto andare. vagabondi per li monti; passorono da' monti nel colle, sonosi dismenticati della sua tana.
7 Whoever came across them devoured them, their enemies said, 'We are not to blame, since they havesinned against Yahweh, the Home of Justice, against Yahweh, the Hope of their ancestors.'	7 Tutti che li trovorono, mangiorono quelli; e dissero li suoi inimici: non abbiamo peccato; per questo che peccorono nel Signore della bellezza della giustizia, e a loro espettazione de' loro padri al Signore.
8 Escape from Babylon, leave the country of the Chaldaeans. Be like he-goats, leading the sheep!	8 Partitevi del mezzo di Babilonia; uscite fuori della terra de' Caldei, e siate come capretti dinanzi alla greggia.
9 For look, I shall raise a league of mighty nations to attack Babylon, from the land of the north. They wiltake up position against her; by them she wil be taken. Their arrows, like an experienced soldier's, never returnin vain.	9 Imperò che ecco, io susciterò, e reducerò della terra di aquilone in Babilonia, congregazione d' una grande gente; e preparerannosi contra di quella, e quindi sarà pigliata; la sua sagitta sarà come del forte uccisore, non ritornerà vôta.
10 Chaldaea wil be plundered, al her plunderers wil be satisfied, Yahweh declares.	10 E sarà Caldea in preda; riempieransi tutti coloro che [la] distruggeranno, dice il Signore.
11 Rejoice! Have your triumph, you plunderers of my heritage! Be playful like a heifer let out to grass!Neigh like stallions!	11 Imperò che voi vi allegrate, e dicete le cose grandi, guastando la mia eredità; imperò che siete sparti a modo di vitelli sopra la erba, e muggite come tauri.
12 But your mother is covered with shame, disgraced is the woman who bore you; she is the least ofnations now; a desert, a parched land, a wasteland.	12 Molto è confusa la vostra madre; ed è agguagliata alla polvere, quella che vi ha generato; ecco che nella gente saranno le cose ultime, li deserti senza via e bruciati.
13 Because of Yahweh's anger, no one wil live there any more, she wil become a total solitude. All whopass by Babylon wil be appal ed and whistle at the sight of al her wounds.	13 Dall' ira del Signore non sarà abitata, ma tutta tornerà in solitudine; maravigliarassi ognuno che passarà per Babilonia e sibilarà, sopra tutte le sue piaghe.
14 Take position against Babylon, surround her, al you who bend the bow. Shoot at her! Do not spareyour arrows, for she has sinned against Yahweh!	14 Apparecchiatevi contra Babilonia per dintorno, tutti voi che tirate l'arco; distruggete quella; non perdonate alle sagitte, imperò che egli ha peccato nel Signore.
15 Raise the war cry against her from all sides. She surrenders! Her bastions fal ! Her wal s collapse!This is Yahweh's vengeance! Take revenge on her. Treat her as she has treated others.	15 Contra quella gridate; in ogni parte ha pòrta la mano; sono cadute le sue fondamenta, si sono distrutte le mura sue, imperò ch' è la vendetta del Signore; da quella togliete la vendetta; come lei ha fatto, così fate a lei.
16 Deprive Babylon of the man who sows, of the man who wields the sickle at harvest. Away from thedevastating sword, let everyone return to his own people, let everyone flee to his own country!	16 Dispergete il mietitore di Babilonia, e colui che tiene la falce nel tempo del mietere; dalla falce del coltello della columba (che è re di Babilonia) convertirassi ciascheduno al suo populo, e ogni uno fuggirà alla terra sua.
17 Israel was a straying sheep pursued by lions. First, the king of Assyria devoured him, and latterlyNebuchadnezzar king of Babylon crunched his bones.	17 Israel è come gregge smarrito, li leoni l' hanno cacciato; il primo re d' Assur ha mangiato quello; e questo ultimo, Nabucodonosor re di Babilonia, li ha cavato l'osso.
18 So Yahweh Sabaoth, God of Israel, says this: Look, I shall punish the king of Babylon and his countryas I punished the king of Assyria.	18 Però questo dice il Signore delli esèrciti, Iddio d'Israel: ecco che visiterò il re di Babilonia, e la sua terra, come visitai il re di Assur.
19 I wil bring Israel back to his pastures to browse on Carmel and in Bashan, on the highlands ofEphraim and in Gilead, and he wil be satisfied.	19 E ritornerò Israel alla sua abitazione; e pascerassi Carmelo e Basan, e nel monte di Efraim e Galaad saziarassi l'anima sua.
20 In those days and at that time, Yahweh declares, you may look for Israel's guilt, it will not be there, forJudah's sins, you wil not find them, for I shal pardon the remnant that I leave.	20 In quelli giorni e in quello tempo, dice il Signore, cercarassi l' iniquità [d' Israel], e non sarà; e il peccato di Giuda, e non li si trovarà; imperò ch' io sarolli propizio, li quali lassarò.
21 March on the country of Merathaim, march on it and on the inhabitants of Pekod; slaughter and cursewith destruction every last one of them, Yahweh declares, carry out my orders to the letter!	21 Ascendi sopra la terra de' signoreggianti, e visita sopra li suoi abitatori; dissipa e uccidi quelle cose che sono dopo loro, dice il Signore; e fa secondo che hotti comandato.
22 The din of battle fil s the country, immense destruction.	22 In terra è la voce della guerra, e la grande contrizione.
23 How utterly shattered that hammer of the whole world! What a thing of horror Babylon has becomethroughout the nations!	23 Come egli ha fracassato e contrito il martello dell' universa terra? Come è ritornata Babilonia in uno deserto nelle genti?
24 I set a snare for you, Babylon; you were caught before you knew it. You have been found andoverpowered for having defied Yahweh.	24 Ho te posta in lacci, o Babilonia; sei pigliata, e non sapevi; sei trovata e presa, imperò che provocasti (ad ira) il Signore.
25 Yahweh has opened his armoury and taken out the weapons of his fury. For Lord Yahweh Sabaothhas work to do in the country of the Chaldaeans.	25 Hae aperto il Signore il suo tesoro, e hae produtto li vasi della sua ira; imperò ch' egli è l'opra al Signore Iddio delli esèrciti nella terra dei Caldei.
26 Fal on her from every side, open her granaries, pile her in heaps, curse her with destruction, untilnothing is left of her.	26 Venite ad essa dalle ultime parti della terra, aprite acciò che escano fuori coloro che conculcano quella; tollete le pietre della via, e reducetele in monticelli, e uccidetela, e in lei non rimanga alcuna cosa.
27 Slaughter al her bulls, down to the slaughterhouse with them! Disaster on them, their day has come,their time for being punished.	27 Dissipate tutti i suoi forti, descendano nella uccisione; guai a loro! imperò che venuto è loro giorno, tempo di loro visitazione.
28 Listen! Fugitives and runaways from the country of Babylon arrive in Zion and proclaim the revenge ofYahweh our God, revenge for his Temple!	28 Egli è la voce del fuggente, e di quelli che scamporono dalla terra di Babilonia, acciò che annunziino la vendetta del nostro Signore, vendetta del tempio suo.
29 Call up the archers against Babylon! Al you who bend the bow, invest her on al sides, leave her noway of escape. Repay her as her deeds deserve; treat her as she has treated others, for she was arrogant toYahweh, to the Holy One of Israel.	29 Raccontate in Babilonia a molti, a tutti quelli che tirano l'arco; contra di quella acconciatevi per d'intorno, e nullo scampi; a lei restituite secondo la sua opera; secondo tutte le cose che lei ha fatto, fate a quella; imperò che lei si ha drizzata contra il Signore, contra il santo d' Israel.
30 And so in her squares her young men wil fall, and all her fighting men wil perish, that day, Yahwehdeclares.	30 Imperò caderanno li suoi giovani nelle sue piazze; e in quello giorno taceranno tutti gli uomini suoi combattitori, dice il Signore.
31 My quarrel is with you, 'Arrogance!' Lord Yahweh Sabaoth declares, your day has come, the time forme to punish you.	31 Ecco, che io a te, o superbo, dice il Signore Iddio delli esèrciti; imperò che verrà il tuo giorno, tempo della tua visitazione.
32 'Arrogance' wil stumble, she will fal , no one wil lift her up: I shal set fire to her towns and it wildevour all around it.	32 E caderà il superbo, e ruinerà, e non sarà cui suscita quello; e nelle sue città accenderò il fuoco, ed egli divorerà tutte cose nel suo circuito.
33 Yahweh Sabaoth says this: The people of Israel are oppressed (and the people of Judah too), al theircaptors hold them fast, they will not let them go.	33 Questo dice il Signore Iddio delli esèrciti: li figliuoli d' Israel insieme e li figliuoli di Giuda sosteneranno la calunnia; tutti quelli che [li] hanno pigliato li teneranno, e non vogliono lasciare quelli.
34 But their redeemer is strong: Yahweh Sabaoth is his name. He wil take up their cause, to give ourcountry rest but make the inhabitants of Babylon tremble.	34 Forte è loro redentore; il nome suo è Signore delli esèrciti; difenderà loro causa col giudicio, per ch' egli spaventi la terra, e commova li abitatori di Babilonia.
35 A sword against the Chaldaeans, Yahweh declares, against the inhabitants of Babylon, against herprinces and her sages!	35 il coltello è alli Caldei, dice il Signore, e alli abitatori di Babilonia, e ai principi, e ai sapienti.
36 A sword against her diviners: may they lose their wits! A sword against her warriors: may they panic!	36 Il coltello è alli suoi divinatori, li quali forono stolti; verrà il coltello ai suoi forti, li quali temeranno.
37 A sword against her horses, her chariots and the conglomeration of people inside her: may they belike women! A sword against her treasures: may they be plundered!	37 Verrà il coltello [ai suoi cavalli, e] ai suoi carri, e a ogni suo populo che è in mezzo suo, ? saranno come femine; verrà il coltello aì suoi tesori, li quali saranno dissipati.
38 Drought on her waters: may they dry up! For it is a country of idols, and they are mad about those bogeys of theirs!	38 Sarà sopra le sue acque la siccità, e asseccheransi; imperò che la terra è da idoli, e gloriansi nelle (venture) meraviglie.
39 Hence wild cats and jackals wil live there, and ostriches make their home there. She will never againbe inhabited, for ever, but remain uninhabited age after age.	39 Per la quale cosa abiteranno li dragoni colli ficari stolti, e li struzzioni abitaranno in essa; e più non si abitarà in sempiterno, e non si riedificarà insino alla generazione in generazione.
40 As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and their neighbouring towns, Yahweh declares, noone will live there any more, no human being settle there again.	40 Come il Signore sommerse Sodoma e Gomorra e li suoi vicini, dice il Signore, quivi non abitarà l'uomo, e non vi starà il figliuolo dell' uomo.
41 Look, a people is coming from the north, a mighty nation; from the far ends of the earth many kingsare stirring.	41 Ecco che verrà di aquilone il populo e la grande gente, e levaransi dalli confini della terra li grandi re.
42 They are armed with bow and spear, they are cruel and pitiless; their noise is like the roaring of thesea; they ride horses, ready as one man to fight you, daughter of Babylon!	42 Pigliaranno l'arco e il scudo; sono crudeli e senza misericordia; sonerà loro voce come il mare; e saliranno sopra i cavalli, come uomo apparecchiato alla battaglia contra di te, o figliuola di Babilonia.
43 The king of Babylon has heard the news, his hands fal limp, anguish has seized him, pain like that ofa woman in labour.	43 Il re di Babilonia ha udito loro fama, e sonsi indebilite le sue mani; l' angustia l' ha preso, il dolore a modo di parturiente.
44 Look, like a lion he climbs the thickets of the Jordan to the perennial pasture! In a flash I shal makethem run away and there appoint someone I shal choose. For who is there like me? Who can hale me intocourt? Name me the shepherd who can stand up to me.	44 Ecco che egli ascenderà, quasi leone, della superbia del Giordano alla bellezza robusta; imperò che incontanente farollo correre a quella; e cui sarà eletto, il quale ponerò innanti a lui? chi adunque è simile a me? e cui mi sostegnerà? e quale è questo pastore, il qual resista al mio volto?
45 So now hear the plan that Yahweh has laid against Babylon, the schemes he has in mind against thecountry of the Chaldaeans: they wil certainly be dragged away like the smallest in the flock! Their pastures willcertainly be sacked before their eyes!	45 Per la quale cosa udite il consiglio del Signore, il quale egli ha conceputo nella mente contral di Babilonia, e [le cogitazioni] che egli ha pensato sopra la terra de' Caldei: se li piccolini di gregge non li trarranno, se non saranno dissipate con essi loro abitazioni.
46 The earth quakes at the sound of Babylon's capture, and the shouting echoes through the nations.	46 Egli è commossa la terra dalla voce della cattività di Babilonia, e audito è il gridare tra la gente.
