Leviticus 11

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA VOLGARE
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and said to them,	1 Parlò Iddio a Moisè e ad Aaron, e disse loro:
2 'Speak to the Israelites and say: "Of al animals living on land these are the creatures you may eat:	2 Dite ai figliuoli d'Israel (che guardino ogni cosa ch' io hoe scritto, acciò ch' io sia loro Iddio): questi sono gli animali, che voi mangerete, di tutti gli animali della terra.
3 "You may eat any animal that has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, and that is a ruminant.	3 Ogni uno ch' avrà divisa l'unghia, e rumina nelle pecore, mangerete.
4 The fol owing, which either chew the cud or have a cloven hoof, are the ones that you may not eat: youwil regard the camel as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	4 Quelli che ruminano, e non hanno fesse l'un ghie, siccome sono i camelli e tutti gli altri, non mangerete, perciò che infra glimmondi saranno minati.
5 you wil regard the coney as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	5 Lo pillicello, che rumina e non ha fessa l'unghia, sì è immondo.
6 you wil regard the hare as unclean, because though it is ruminant, it does not have a cloven hoof;	6 La lèpore [ ancora; perciò che] rumina, e non hae fessa l'unghia.
7 you wil regard the pig as unclean, because though it has a cloven hoof, divided into two parts, it is nota ruminant.	7 Lo porco; [il quale] non rumina, e hae fessa l'unghia.
8 You will not eat the meat of these or touch their dead bodies; you wil regard them as unclean.	8 Delle loro carni non ne mangerete, nè quelle che per loro morisseno, perciò che immonde sono a voi.
9 "Of al that lives in water, these you may eat: "Anything that has fins and scales, and lives in the water, whether in sea or river, you may eat.	9 De' pesci che stanno nell'acqua, questi sono quegli di che voi mangerete: tutti quelli che hanno le pennule (ovver spine, in modo di barbe sopra la schiena) e squame, o in mare o in fiume o nelli stagni, mangerete.
10 But anything in sea or river that does not have fins and scales, of al the smal water-creatures and althe living things found there, you wil regard as detestable.	10 Tutti quelli che isquame e pennule (sopra la schiena) non hanno, di niuno mangiate; ma avreteli in abbominazione,
11 You wil regard them as detestable; you must not eat their meat and you wil regard their carcases asdetestable.	11 e sarà cosa proibita a voi; le loro carni non mangerete, e quelli sono morti schiverete.
12 Anything that lives in water, but not having fins and scales, you wil regard as detestable.	12 Tutti li pesci, che non hanno le pennule e squame, sono immondi.
13 "Of the birds these are the ones that you wil regard as detestable; they may not be eaten, they aredetestable for eating: "The tawny vulture, the griffon, the osprey,	13 Delli uccelli, questi sono quelli che voi non mangerete: aquila, grifone, falcone,
14 the kite, the various kinds of buzzard,	14 nibbio e vulture, secondo la siia generazione,
15 all kinds of raven,	15 corvo, e di tutti quelli ch' hanno loro similitudine,
16 the ostrich, the screech owl, the seagul , the various kinds of hawk,	16 lo struzzo e la nottola, il laro e il sparviero secondo la sua generazione,
17 horned owl, night owl, cormorant, barn owl,	17 il bubone e il smergo, la cicogna,
18 ibis, pelican, white vulture,	18 e il cigno e lo onocratolo (lo quale è un uccello simile al cigno) e il pellicano,
19 stork, the various kinds of heron, the hoopoe and the bat.	19 il falcone e il caradrio (lo quale è un uccello tutto bianco) secondo la sua generazione, l'upupa e lo vespertilione.
20 "Al winged insects moving on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating.	20 Tutti gli uccelli, che vanno sopra quattro piedi, saranno a voi abbominabili; e non mangerete.
21 Of al these winged insects you may eat only the fol owing: those with the sort of legs above their feetwhich enable them to leap over the ground.	21 Ma di tutti quelli che vanno sopra la terra, e hanno quattro piedi, e li due di dietro hanno maggiori, per li quali saltan sopra la terra,
22 These are the ones you may eat: the various kinds of migratory locust, the various kinds of solhamlocust, hargol locust and hagab locust.	22 mangerete, com'è lo bruco nella sua generazione, e lo grillo, lo ofiomaco (lo quale è un animale che combatte contro allo serpente) e le locuste tutte secondo la sua generazione.
23 But al other winged insects on four feet you wil regard as detestable for eating.	23 E tutti gli uccelli, che hanno tanto quattro piedi, sarà a voi proibito [mangiare].
24 "By the fol owing you wil be made unclean. Anyone who touches the carcase of one wil be uncleanuntil evening.	24 E cadauno che toccherà i loro corpi morti sarà contaminato, e sarà immondo insino al vespero.
25 Anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.	25 E se li sarà necessario di portare alcuno di questi animali morti, laverà le sue vestimenta, e sarà immondo insino al coricare del sole.
26 Animals that have hoofs, but not cloven, and that are not ruminant, you wil regard as unclean;anyone who touches them will be unclean.	26 E ogni animale che non rumina, e che non hae fessa l'unghia, (sarà immondo, e) chi ne toccherà sarà contaminato.
27 Those four-footed animals which walk on the flat of their paws you wil regard as unclean; anyonewho touches their carcases wil be unclean until evening,	27 Tutti quelli che vanno colle mani, cioè che hanno li piedi dinanzi come mani (come è la scimia e l'orso) saranno immondi; e chi toccasse la morticina loro, sarà immondo insino al vespero.
28 and anyone who picks up their carcases must wash his clothing and wil be unclean until evening.You will regard them as unclean.	28 E chi porterà questi tal corpi morti, laverà le vestimenta sue, e sarà immondo insino al vespero; perciò che tutte queste cose vi saranno immonde.
29 "Of the smal creatures which crawl along the ground, these are the ones which you wil regard asunclean: the mole, the rat, the various kinds of lizard:	29 Anco queste saran reputate immonde, cioè la donnola, lo cocodrillo e lo topo, e tutti quelli che si somigliano a loro,
30 gecko, koah, letaah, chameleon and tinshamet.	30 cioè la lucertola, lo migalo, camaleon, stellio e la talpa.
31 "Of al the smal creatures, these are the animals which you must regard as disgusting. Anyone whotouches them when they are dead will be unclean until evening.	31 Tutte queste sono (di generazione di lacerte, e tutta sua generazione; tutte sono) immonde; e chi toccherà la loro carne morta, sarà immondo insino. al vespro.
32 "Any object on which one of these creatures fal s when it is dead becomes unclean: wooden utensil,clothing, skin, sacking, any utensil whatever. It must be immersed in water and wil remain unclean until evening:then it wil be clean.	32 E se niuna cosa di queste cose morte sopra di queste cose cadesse, sarà immondo; così vaso di legno, come pelle e vestimenti e cilicii, e in ogni cosa che si adoperi; laverà queste cose nell'acqua, e sarà in peccato insino al vespero; e poscia si mondi (e netti).
33 If the creature fal s into an earthenware vessel, the vessel must be broken; whatever the vesselcontains is unclean.	33 E se in niuno vaso di terra cadesse alcuna di queste cose morte, sarà immondo; e però lo romperete.
34 Any edible food wil be unclean if the water touches it; any drinkable liquid will be unclean, no matterwhat its container.	34 E ogni cibo che voi mangerete, se sarà lavato con acqua, sarà immondo; e ogni licore, che si bevesse di tutti li vasi, serebbe immondo.
35 Anything on which the carcase of such a creature may fal wil be unclean: be it oven or stove, it mustbe destroyed; for they are unclean and you wil regard them as unclean	35 E se niuna cosa di questa carne morta ca derà in niuno lato, sarà immondo (o che furono in altro vaso); e rompansi tutti quelli che sono immondi.
36 (although springs, wel s and stretches of water wil remain clean); anyone who touches one of theircarcases wil be unclean.	36 O se in fonte, o se in cisterna, o in alcuna congregazion d'acqua cadesse, sarà immonda.
37 If one of their carcases fal s on any kind of seed, the seed will remain clean;	37 E se (in niun luogo) cadesse sopra la semente, non si corromperà.
38 but if the seed has been moistened and one of their carcases fal s on it, you wil regard it as unclean.	38 Se tanto è che sia coll'acqua la semente lavata, e se dopo nell'acqua cadesse questa carne morta, si si corromperà.
39 "If one of the animals that you use as food dies, anyone who touches the carcase wil be unclean untilevening;	39 E se l'animale che vi è lecito di mangiare morisse, chi toccherà quella carne sarà immondo insino al vespro.
40 anyone who eats any of the carcase must wash his clothing and will remain unclean until evening;anyone who picks up the carcase must wash his clothing and wil remain unclean until evening.	40 E se neuno ne mangiasse o portasse, laverae le sue vestimenta, e sarà immondo insino al vespro.
41 "Any creature that swarms on the ground is detestable for eating; it must not be eaten.	41 Ogni cosa si freghi suso per la terra, sarà a voi abbominabile, e non lo torrete in cibo.
42 Anything that moves on its bel y, anything that moves on four legs or more -- in short all the creaturesthat swarm on the ground -- you will not eat, since they are detestable.	42 Ogni cosa la qual va sopra il petto suo con quattro piedi, ovver che si tiri sopra la terra, e pogniamo che abbia molti piedi, non mangerete, perciò ch' è cosa abbominevole.
43 Do not make yourselves detestable with al these swarming creatures; do not defile yourselves withthem, do not be defiled by them.	43 Non vogliate contaminare le anime vostre, e non toccate niuna cosa, acciò che non siate immondi.
44 For it is I, Yahweh, who am your God. You have been sanctified and have become holy because I amholy: do not defile yourselves with all these creatures that swarm on the ground.	44 Io sono lo vostro Dio; siate santi, come sono santo io; non vogliate contaminare le anime vostre per niuna cosa che vada sopra la terra.
45 Yes, it is I, Yahweh, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God: you must therefore be holybecause I am holy." '	45 lo sono quello Iddio che vi meno della terra d'Egitto, acciò ch' io fossi a voi Iddio; voi sarete santi, però che io sono santo.
46 Such is the law concerning animals, birds, al living creatures that move in water and al creaturesthat swarm on the ground.	46 E questa è la legge degli animali, e degli uccelli, e di ogni altro animale che si muove in acqua e sopra la terra,
47 Its purpose is to distinguish the clean from the unclean, the creatures that may be eaten from thosethat may not be eaten.	47 acciò che voi cognosciate la differenza dai mondi e dagl' immondi, e sappiate quello che deb biate mangiare o non mangiare.
