2 Chronicles 22

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 The inhabitants of Jerusalem then made his youngest son Ahaziah king in succession to him, sincethe marauders who had attacked the camp with the Arabs had kil ed al the older ones. That was why Ahaziahson of Jehoram, king of Judah became king.	1 Los habitantes de Jerusalén proclamaron rey den lugar de Joram a Ocozías, su hijo menor, porque la banda que invadió el campamento con los árabes había asesinado a todos los hijos mayores. Así reinó Ocozías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá.
2 Ahaziah was forty-two years old when he came to the throne and he reigned for one year inJerusalem. His mother's name was Athaliah, descendant of Omri.	2 Ocozías tenía cuarenta y dos años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó un solo año en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Atalía, y era hija de Omrí.
3 He too fol owed the example of the House of Ahab, for his mother being his adviser brought about hiscondemnation.	3 El también siguió los caminos de la casa de Ajab, porque su madre lo instigaba a cometer el mal.
4 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh as the House of Ahab did, for they were his advisers after hisfather's death, to his undoing.	4 Hizo lo que es malo a los ojos del Señor, como los de la familia de Ajab, porque después de la muerte de su padre, ellos fueron sus consejeros para ruina de él.
5 He followed their advice and went with Jehoram son of Ahab, king of Israel, to make war on Hazaelking of Aram at Ramoth-Gilead. But the Aramaeans wounded Jehoram,	5 Por consejo de ellos, fue con Joram, hijo de Ajab, rey de Israel, a combatir contra Jazael, rey de Aram, en Ramot de Galaad. Los arameos hirieron a Joram,
6 who returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds which he had received at Ramoth, fighting againstHazael king of Aram. Ahaziah son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to Jezreel to visit Jehoram son of Ahabbecause he was ailing.	6 y este volvió a Izreel para hacerse curar de las heridas que le habían infligido en Ramot, en la batalla contra Jazael, rey de Aram. Ocozías, hijo de Joram, rey de Judá, bajó a Izreel para visitar a Joram, hijo de Ajab, que se encontraba enfermo.
7 Through this visit to Jehoram God brought ruin on Ahaziah. On his arrival he went out with Jehoram tomeet Jehu son of Nimshi whom Yahweh had anointed to make an end of the House of Ahab.	7 Esta visita a Joram estaba dispuesta por Dios para ruina de Ocozías. Porque cuando llegó, salió con Joram a luchar contra Jehú, hijo de Nimsí, a quien el Señor había ungido para extirpar la casa de Ajab.
8 While Jehu was executing sentence on the House of Ahab and came across the officers of Judah andAhaziah's nephews who were in attendance on Ahaziah, he kil ed them,	8 Mientras Jehú hacía justicia con la familia de Ajab, se encontró con los jefes de Judá y con los hijos de los hermanos de Ocozías, que estaban a su servicio, y los mató.
9 and then went in search of Ahaziah. The latter was captured while hiding in Samaria, and taken toJehu who put him to death. But they gave him burial because, they said, 'He was the grandson of Jehoshaphatwho sought Yahweh with all his heart.' As a result, there was no member of Ahaziah's family left who was strongenough to rule the kingdom.	9 Después buscó a Ocozías, y lo capturaron en Samaría, donde se había ocultado. Luego lo llevaron a la presencia de Jehú y lo mataron. Pero le dieron sepultura, porque decían: «Es el hijo de Josafat, el que buscó al Señor de todo corazón». 10 When Athaliah mother of Ahaziah learned that her son was dead, she promptly did away with al theroyal stock of the House of Judah.	10 Atalía, la madre de Ocozías, al ver que había muerto su hijo, comenzó a exterminar todo el linaje real de la tribu de Judá.
11 But Jehosheba the king's daughter, surreptitiously rescued Joash son of Ahaziah from among thechiefs who were to be murdered, and put him with his nurse in the sleeping quarters; in this way Jehoshebadaughter of King Joram and wife of Jehoiada the priest -- she was the sister of Ahaziah -- hid him from Athaliah,and he was not put to death.	11 Pero Josebá, hija del rey, tomó a Joás, hijo de Ocozías, lo sacó de en medio de los hijos del rey que iban a ser masacrados, y lo puso con su nodriza en la sala que servía de dormitorio. Josebá, hija del rey Joram, esposa del sacerdote Iehoiadá y hermana de Ocozías, lo ocultó a los ojos de Atalía y no lo mataron.
12 He stayed hidden with them in the Temple of God for six years while Athaliah governed the country.	12 Así estuvo con ellos seis años en la Casa de Dios, mientras Atalía reinaba sobre el país.
