1 In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz, king of Israel, Amaziah son of Joash became king ofJudah.	1 Во второй год Иоаса, сына Иоахазова, царя Израильского, воцарился Амасия, сын Иоаса, царь Иудейский:
2 He was twenty-five years old when he came to the throne, and he reigned for twenty-nine years inJerusalem. His mother's name was Jehoaddin of Jerusalem.	2 двадцати пяти лет был он, когда воцарился, и двадцать девять лет царствовал в Иерусалиме. Имя матери его Иегоаддань, из Иерусалима.
3 He did what Yahweh regards as right, though not like his ancestor David; he imitated his father Joashin all respects.	3 И делал он угодное в очах Господних, впрочем не так, как отец его Давид: он во всем поступал так, как отец его Иоас.
4 The high places, however, were not abolished, and the people stil offered sacrifices and incense onthe high places.	4 Только высоты не были отменены: народ совершал еще жертвы и курения на высотах.
5 Once the kingdom was firmly under his control, he kil ed those of his retainers who had murdered theking his father.	5 Когда утвердилось царство в руках его, тогда он умертвил слуг своих, убивших царя, отца его.
6 But he did not put the murderers' sons to death, in accordance with what is written in the Book ofMoses, where Yahweh has commanded: 'Parents may not be put to death for their children, nor children forparents, but each must be put to death for his own crime.'	6 Но детей убийц не умертвил, так как написано в книге закона Моисеева, в которой заповедал Господь, говоря: 'не должны быть наказываемы смертью отцы за детей, и дети не должны быть наказываемы смертью за отцов, но каждый за свое преступление должен быть наказываем смертью'.
7 It was he who slaughtered the Edomites in the Valley of Salt, ten thousand of them, and captured theRock; he gave it the name Joktheel, which it bears to the present day.	7 Он поразил десять тысяч Идумеян на долине Соляной, и взял Селу войною, и дал ей имя Иокфеил, которое [остается и] до сего дня.
8 Amaziah then sent messengers to Jehoash son of Jehoahaz, king of Israel, saying, 'Come and make atrial of strength!'	8 Тогда послал Амасия послов к Иоасу, царю Израильскому, сыну Иоахаза, сына Ииуева, сказать: выйди, повидаемся лично.
9 Jehoash king of Israel sent back word to Amaziah king of Judah, 'The thistle of Lebanon sent amessage to the cedar of Lebanon, saying, "Give my son your daughter in marriage"; but a wild animal of theLebanon ran over the thistle and squashed it.	9 И послал Иоас, царь Израильский, к Амасии, царю Иудейскому, сказать: терн, который на Ливане, послал к кедру, который на Ливане же, сказать: 'отдай дочь свою в жену сыну моему'. Но прошли дикие двери, что на Ливане, и истоптали этот терн.
10 You have conquered Edom and now aspire to even greater glory. Stay where you belong! Whyprovoke disaster, to your own and Judah's ruin?'	10 Ты поразил Идумеян, и возгордилось сердце твое. Величайся и сиди у себя дома. К чему тебе затевать ссору на свою беду? Падешь ты и Иуда с тобою.
11 But Amaziah would not listen, so Jehoash king of Israel marched to the attack. And at Beth-Shemesh,which belongs to Judah, he and Amaziah king of Judah made their trial of strength.	11 Но не послушался Амасия. И выступил Иоас, царь Израильский, и увиделись лично он и Амасия, царь Иудейский, в Вефсамисе, что в Иудее.
12 Judah was defeated by Israel, and everyone fled to his tent.	12 И разбиты были Иудеи Израильтянами, и разбежались по шатрам своим.
13 The king of Judah, Amaziah son of Jehoash, son of Ahaziah, was taken prisoner at Beth-Shemesh byJehoash king of Israel who led him off to Jerusalem, where he demolished four hundred cubits of the city wallbetween the Ephraim Gate and the Corner Gate;	13 И Амасию, царя Иудейского, сына Иоаса, сына Охозиина, захватил Иоас, царь Израильский, в Вефсамисе, и пошел в Иерусалим и разрушил стену Иерусалимскую от ворот Ефремовых до ворот угольных на четыреста локтей.
14 al the gold and silver, and al the vessels to be found in the Temple of Yahweh and in the palacetreasury, and hostages besides, he then took back with him to Samaria.	14 И взял все золото и серебро, и все сосуды, какие нашлись в доме Господнем и в сокровищницах царского дома, и заложников, и возвратился в Самарию.
15 The rest of the history of Jehoash, his entire career, his prowess, how he waged war on Amaziah kingof Judah, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals of the Kings of Israel?	15 Прочее об Иоасе, что он сделал, и о мужественных подвигах его, и как он воевал с Амасиею, царем Иудейским, написано в летописи царей Израильских.
16 Then Joash fel asleep with his ancestors, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; his sonJeroboam succeeded him.	16 И почил Иоас с отцами своими, и погребен в Самарии с царями Израильскими. И воцарился Иеровоам, сын его, вместо него.
17 Amaziah son of Joash, king of Judah, lived for fifteen years after the death of Jehoash son ofJehoahaz, king of Israel.	17 И жил Амасия, сын Иоасов, царь Иудейский, по смерти Иоаса, сына Иоахазова, царя Израильского, пятнадцать лет.
18 The rest of the history of Amaziah, is this not recorded in the Book of the Annals of the Kings ofJudah?	18 Прочие дела Амасии записаны в летописи царей Иудейских.
19 A plot having been hatched against him in Jerusalem, he fled to Lachish; but he was fol owed toLachish where he was murdered.	19 И составили против него заговор в Иерусалиме, и убежал он в Лахис. И послали за ним в Лахис, и умертвили его там.
20 He was then transported by horse and buried in Jerusalem with his ancestors in the City of David.	20 И привезли его на конях, и погребен он был в Иерусалиме с отцами своими в городе Давидовом.
21 Al the people of Judah then chose Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king insuccession to his father Amaziah.	21 И взял весь народ Иудейский Азарию, которому было шестнадцать лет, и воцарили его вместо отца его Амасии.
22 It was he who rebuilt Elath, recovering it for Judah, after the king had fallen asleep with his ancestors.	22 Он обстроил Елаф, и возвратил его Иуде, после того как царь почил с отцами своими.
23 In the fifteenth year of Amaziah son of Joash, king of Judah, Jeroboam son of Joash became king ofIsrael in Samaria. He reigned for forty-one years.	23 В пятнадцатый год Амасии, сына Иоасова, царя Иудейского, воцарился Иеровоам, сын Иоасов, царь Израильский, в Самарии, и [царствовал] сорок один год,
24 He did what is displeasing to Yahweh and did not give up any of the sins into which Jeroboam son ofNebat had led Israel.	24 и делал он неугодное в очах Господних: не отступал от всех грехов Иеровоама, сына Наватова, который ввел Израиля в грех.
25 It was he who recovered the territory of Israel from the Pass of Hamath to the Sea of the Arabah, inaccordance with the word which Yahweh, God of Israel, had spoken through his servant Jonah son of Amittai,the prophet from Gath-Hepher.	25 Он восстановил пределы Израиля, от входа в Емаф до моря пустыни, по слову Господа Бога Израилева, которое Он изрек чрез раба Своего Иону, сына Амафиина, пророка из Гафхефера,
26 For Yahweh had seen how very bitter the affliction of Israel was, with no one, either fettered or free, tocome to Israel's help.	26 ибо Господь видел бедствие Израиля, весьма горькое, так что не оставалось ни заключенного, ни оставшегося, и не было помощника у Израиля.
27 But Yahweh had resolved not to blot out the name of Israel under heaven; he rescued them by meansof Jeroboam son of Joash.	27 И не восхотел Господь искоренить имя Израильтян из поднебесной, и спас их рукою Иеровоама, сына Иоасова.
28 The rest of the history of Jeroboam, his entire career, his prowess, what wars he waged, how hebrought Damascus and Hamath back to their allegiance to Judah and Israel, is this not recorded in the Book ofthe Annals of the Kings of Israel?	28 Прочее об Иеровоаме и обо всем, что он сделал, и о мужественных подвигах его, как он воевал и как возвратил Израилю Дамаск и Емаф, принадлежавших Иуде, написано в летописи царей Израильских.
29 Then Jeroboam fell asleep with his ancestors and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; hisson Zechariah succeeded him.	29 И почил Иеровоам с отцами своими, с царями Израильскими. И воцарился Захария, сын его, вместо него.
