1 A psalm of David. LORD, hear my prayer; in your faithfulness listen to my pleading; answer me in your justice.	1 'Salmo. Di Davide.' Signore, ascolta la mia preghiera, porgi l'orecchio alla mia supplica, tu che sei fedele, e per la tua giustizia rispondimi.
2 Do not enter into judgment with your servant; before you no living being can be just.	2 Non chiamare in giudizio il tuo servo: nessun vivente davanti a te è giusto.
3 The enemy has pursued me; they have crushed my life to the ground. They have left me in darkness like those long dead.	3 Il nemico mi perseguita, calpesta a terra la mia vita, mi ha relegato nelle tenebre come i morti da gran tempo.
4 My spirit is faint within me; my heart is dismayed.	4 In me languisce il mio spirito, si agghiaccia il mio cuore.
5 I remember the days of old; I ponder all your deeds; the works of your hands I recall.	5 Ricordo i giorni antichi, ripenso a tutte le tue opere, medito sui tuoi prodigi.
6 I stretch out my hands to you; I thirst for you like a parched land. Selah	6 A te protendo le mie mani, sono davanti a te come terra riarsa.
7 Hasten to answer me, LORD; for my spirit fails me. Do not hide your face from me, lest I become like those descending to the pit.	7 Rispondimi presto, Signore, viene meno il mio spirito. Non nascondermi il tuo volto, perché non sia come chi scende nella fossa.
8 At dawn let me hear of your kindness, for in you I trust. Show me the path I should walk, for to you I entrust my life.	8 Al mattino fammi sentire la tua grazia, poiché in te confido. Fammi conoscere la strada da percorrere, perché a te si innalza l'anima mia.
9 Rescue me, LORD, from my foes, for in you I hope.	9 Salvami dai miei nemici, Signore, a te mi affido.
10 Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. May your kind spirit guide me on ground that is level.	10 Insegnami a compiere il tuo volere, perché sei tu il mio Dio. Il tuo spirito buono mi guidi in terra piana.
11 For your name's sake, LORD, give me life; in your justice lead me out of distress.	11 Per il tuo nome, Signore, fammi vivere, liberami dall'angoscia, per la tua giustizia.
12 In your kindness put an end to my foes; destroy all who attack me, for I am your servant. Psalm	12 Per la tua fedeltà disperdi i miei nemici, fa' perire chi mi opprime, poiché io sono tuo servo.
