1 Ma il profeta Eliseo chiamò uno de' figliuoli de' profeti, e gli disse: Cingi i tuoi fianchi, e prendi questa ampolla d'olio in mano, e va a Ramoth di Galaad.	1 Now the prophet Elisha called one of the sons of the prophets, and he said to him: “Gird your waist, and take this little bottle of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.
2 E giunto colà, vedrai Jehu figliuolo di Josaphat, figliuolo di Namsi, e appressandoti a lui. Lo tirerai a parte dall'adunanza de' suoi fratelli, e lo condurrai in una camera rimota.	2 And when you arrive in that place, you will see Jehu, the son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshi. And upon entering, you shall raise him up from the midst of his brothers, and you shall lead him into an inner room.
3 E presa l'ampolla dell'olio, la verserai sul capo di lui, dicendo: Queste cose dice il Signore: Io ti ho unto in re d'Israele. E aprirai la porta, e fuggirai, e non ti fermerai in quel luogo.	3 And taking the little bottle of oil, you shall pour it upon his head, and you shall say: ‘Thus says the Lord: I have anointed you as king over Israel.’ And you shall open the door and flee. And you shall not remain in that place.”
4 Il giovine adunque ministro del profeta andò a Ramoth di Galaad,	4 Therefore, the young man, a servant of the prophet, went away to Ramoth Gilead.
5 E quando ei giunse colà, vide come i principi dell'esercito erano assisi, e disse: Ho da dire una parola a te, o principe. E Jehu disse: A chi di tutti noi? E quegli rispose: A te, o principe.	5 And he entered that place, and behold, the leaders of the army were sitting there, and he said, “I have a word for you, O prince.” And Jehu said, “For which one among us all?” And he said, “For you, O prince.”
6 Ed egli si alzò, ed entrò in una camera. Ma quegli versò l'olio sul capo di lui, e disse: Il Signore Dio d'Israele dice così: Io ti ho unto re del popol mio d'Israele.	6 And he rose up and entered into the room. And he poured the oil on his head, and he said: “Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: ‘I have anointed you as king over Israel, the people of the Lord.
7 E sterminerai la casa di Achab tuo signore, e io farò vendetta del sangue de' profeti miei servi, e del sangue di tutti i servi del Signore sopra Jezabele.	7 And you will shall strike down the house of Ahab, your lord. And I will avenge the blood of my servants, the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the Lord, from the hand of Jezebel.
8 E distruggerò tutta la casa di Achab, e ucciderò fino i cani della casa di Achab, e i rinchiusi, e gli ultimi d'Israele.	8 And I will destroy the entire house of Ahab. And I will cause to pass away from Ahab, whatever urinates against a wall, and whatever is lame, and whatever is least in Israel.
9 E farò della casa di Achab, come della casa di Geroboam figliuolo di Nabath, e come della casa di Baasa figliuolo di Ahia.	9 And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha, the son of Ahijah.
10 E la stessa Jezabele sarà divorata dai cani nella campagna di Jezrael, e non avrà chi le dia sepoltura. Indi egli aperse la porta, e fuggì.	10 Also, the dogs will consume Jezebel, in the field of Jezreel. Neither will there be anyone who may bury her.’ ” And then he opened the door, and he fled.
11 E Jehu andò dov' erano i servi del suo signore, i quali gli dissero: Va bene ogni cosa? A qual fine è venuto quel pazzo a trovarti? Egli disse loro: Voi conoscete l'uomo, e i suoi discorsi.	11 Then Jehu went out to the servants of his lord. And they said to him: “Is everything well? Why has this insane man come to you?” And he said to them, “You know the man, and what he said.”
12 Ma quelli risposero: Non è vero; ma tu piuttosto fanne a noi il racconto. Ed egli disse loro: Ei mi ha detto questo, e questo, e ha soggiunto: Queste cose dice il Signore: Ti ho unto re sopra Israele.	12 But they responded, “That is false; instead, you should tell us.” And he said to them, “He said to me these certain things, and he said, ‘Thus says the Lord: I have anointed you as king over Israel.’ ”
13 Si alzarono quegli in fretta, e prendendo ciascun di essi il proprio mantello li posero sotto a' piedi di lui,facendo come un tribunale, e sonaron la tromba, e dissero: Jehu è fatto re.	13 And so they hurried away. And each one, taking his cloak, placed it under his feet, in the manner of a seat for judgment. And they sounded the trumpet, and they said: “Jehu reigns!”
14 Jehu pertanto figliuolo di Josaphat,figliuolo di Namsi, fece congiura contro Joram. Or Joram con tutto Israele assediava Ramoth di Galaad contro Hazael re della Siria.	14 Then Jehu, the son of Jehoshaphat, the son of Nimshi, conspired against Joram. Now Joram had besieged Ramoth Gilead, he and all of Israel, against Hazael, the king of Syria.
15 Ed era tornato indietro a Jezrael per farsi curare delle ferite, che avea ricevute dai Siri combattendo contro Hazael re di Siria. Or Jehu disse Se così vi piace, nissuno esca, o si fugga dalla città, affinchè non vada a portar la nuova a Jezrael.	15 And he had returned, so that he might be cured at Jezreel, because of his wounds. For the Syrians had struck him, while he was fighting against Hazael, the king of Syria. And Jehu said, “If it pleases you, let no one depart, fleeing from the city; otherwise he may go and give a report in Jezreel.”
16 E si mosse egli, e andò verso Jezrael: perocché ivi si trovava Joram ammalato, e Ochozia re di Giuda era andato per visitare Joram.	16 And he climbed up and set out for Jezreel, because Joram was sick there, and Ahaziah, the king of Judah, had gone down to visit Joram.
17 La sentinella pertanto, la quale stava sulla torre di Jezrael, vide la schiera di Jehu, che veniva, e disse: Veggo una schiera. E Joram disse: Si prenda un cocchio, e si mandi alcuno incontro a coloro, e chi anderà, dica loro: Va bene ogni cosa?	17 And so the watchman, who was standing upon the tower of Jezreel, saw the crowd of Jehu arriving, and he said, “I see a crowd.” And Joram said: “Take a chariot, and send to meet them. And those who go should say, ‘Is everything well?’ ”
18 Andò adunque quegli, che era salito sul cocchio, incontro a Jehu, e disse: il re manda a dirti: E' egli il tutto in pace? E Jehu disse: Che importa a te della pace? passa, e vieni dietro a me. E la sentinella diede avviso, e disse: Il messo è arrivato, dove son coloro, ma egli non torna indietro.	18 Therefore, he who had climbed into the chariot went away to meet him, and he said, “The king says this: ‘Is everything peaceful?’ ” And Jehu said: “What peace is there for you? Pass by and follow me.” Also the watchman gave a report, saying, “The messenger went to them, but he did not return.”
19 E (Joram) mandò anche il secondo cocchio, e il messo arrivò presso a coloro, e disse: Il re ha detto: Abbiam noi pace? Ma Jehu disse: Che importa a te della pace? passa, e vieni dietro a me.	19 And then he sent a second chariot of horses. And he went to them, and he said, “The king says this: ‘Is there peace?’ ” And Jehu said: “What peace is there for you? Pass by and follow me.”
20 E la sentinella diede avviso, e disse: (Il messo) è arrivato, dove son coloro, ma egli non torna: or colui, che viene in qua sembra all'andatura Jehu figliuolo di Namsi; perocché cammina a precipizio.	20 Then the watchman gave a report, saying: “He went all the way to them, but he did not return. But their advance is like the advance of Jehu, the son of Nimshi. For he advances precipitously.”
21 E Joram disse: Si ammannisca il cocchio. E fu ammannito il suo cocchio; e Joram re d'Israele, e Ochozia re di Giuda partirono ciascheduno sul suo cocchio, per andar incontro a Jehu, e lo trovarono nel campo di Naboth Jezraelita.	21 And Joram said, “Yoke the chariot.” And they yoked his chariot. And Joram, the king of Israel, and Ahaziah, the king of Judah, departed, each in his chariot. And they went out to meet Jehu. And they met him in the field of Naboth, the Jezreelite.
22 E Joram appena vide Jehu, disse: Jehu, abbiam noi pace? Ma quegli rispose: Che pace? Le fornicazioni, e i molti venefici di Jezabele tua madre menan tuttavia gran rumore.	22 And when Joram had seen Jehu, he said, “Is there peace, Jehu?” And he responded: “What is peace? For still the fornications of your mother, Jezebel, and her many poisons, are thriving.”
23 E Joram voltò indietro, e fuggendo disse ad Ochozia: Tradimenti, o Ochozia.	23 Then Joram turned his hand, and, fleeing, he said to Ahaziah, “Treachery, Ahaziah!”
24 Ma Jehu tese il suo arco, e ferì Joram nel mezzo delle spalle, e la saetta gli usci pel cuore, e cadde subitamente sul suo cocchio.	24 But Jehu bent his bow with his hand, and he struck Joram between the shoulders. And the arrow went through his heart, and immediately he fell in his chariot.
25 E Jehu disse a Badacer capitano: Prendilo, e gettalo nel campo di Naboth Jezraelita; perocché mi ricordo, che quando io, e tu sedendo nel cocchio andavamo dietro ad Achab padre di costui, il Signore pronuncio contro di lui questa sentenza, dicendo:	25 And Jehu said to Bidkar, his commander: “Take and cast him into the field of Naboth, the Jezreelite. For I remember, when you and I, sitting in a chariot, were following Ahab, this man’s father, that the Lord lifted this burden upon him, saying:
26 Io guiro (dice il Signore), che in questo campo farò vendetta sopra di te del sangue ai Naboth, e del sangue de' suoi figliuoli, che io vidi ieri. Ora adunque prendilo, e gettalo nel campo secondo la parola del Signore.	26 ‘Certainly, I will repay you in this field, says the Lord, for the blood of Naboth, and for the blood of his sons, which I saw yesterday, says the Lord.’ Therefore, take him now, and cast him into the field, in accord with the word of the Lord.”
27 Or Ochozia re di Giuda, veduto questo, fuggì per la strada della casa del giardino; e Jehu gli tenne dietro, e disse: Uccidete anche costui sul suo cocchio: e lo ferirono nella salita di Gaver, che è vicino a Jeblaam; e quegli fuggì sino a Mageddo, e ivi si morì.	27 But Ahaziah, the king of Judah, seeing this, fled along the way of the garden house. And Jehu pursued him, and he said, “Strike this one also in his chariot.” And they struck him on the ascent to Gur, which is beside Ibleam. But he fled into Megiddo, and he died there.
28 E i suoi servi lo posero sul suo cocchio, e lo portarono a Gerusalemme, e lo seppellirono nel sepolcro de' padri suoi nella città di Davidde.	28 And his servants placed him upon his chariot, and they took him to Jerusalem. And they buried him in the sepulcher with his fathers, in the city of David.
29 L'anno undecimo di Joram figliuolo di Achab, regnò Ochozia sopra Giuda.	29 In the eleventh year of Joram, the son of Ahab, Ahaziah reigned over Judah.
30 E Jehu andò a Jezrael. Ma Jezabele avendo saputo il suo arrivo, si diede il belletto agli occhi, e si acconciò il capo, e stava alla finestra per vedere	30 And Jehu went into Jezreel. But Jezebel, hearing of his arrival, painted her eyes with cosmetics, and adorned her head. And she watched through a window,
31 Jehu, che entrava nella porta, e disse: Può egli aver pace Zambri, che ha ucciso il suo signore?	31 as Jehu was entering through the gate. And she said, “Is it possible for there to be peace for Zimri, who killed his lord?”
32 E Jehu alzò il capo verso la finestra, e disse: Chi è colei? E due, o tre eunuchi s'inchinarono a lui.	32 And Jehu lifted up his face to the window, and he said, “Who is this woman?” And two or three eunuchs bowed down before him.
33 Ed egli disse loro: Gettatela a basso. Ed ei la gettarono; e la muraglia fu spruzzata di sangue, e gli zoccoli de' cavalli la calpestarono.	33 And he said to them, “Throw her down with force.” And they threw her forcefully, and the wall was splattered with her blood, and the hoofs of the horses trampled her.
34 E quand' egli fu andato in casa per mangiare, e bere, disse; Andate, e abbiate cura di quella sciaurata, e seppellitela; perocché è figliuola di re.	34 And when he had entered, so that he might eat and drink, he said: “Go, and see to that cursed woman, and bury her. For she is the daughter of a king.”
35 Ed essendo andati quelli per seppellirla, non trovarono se non il cranio, e i piedi, e l'estremità delle mani,	35 But when they had gone, so that they might bury her, they found nothing but the skull, and the feet, and the ends of her hands.
36 E tornarono a riferir ciò a Jehu, ed egli disse: Questo è quello, che il Signore disse per bocca di Elia Thesbite suo servo, allorché pronunziò: I cani mangeran le carni di Jezabele nel campo di Jezrael:	36 And returning, they reported to him. And Jehu said: “It is the word of the Lord, which he spoke though his servant, Elijah the Tishbite, saying: ‘In the field of Jezreel, the dogs will consume the flesh of Jezebel.
37 E le carni di Jezabele resteranno come sterco sopra la superficie della terra nel campo di Jezrael, talmente che i passeggieri diranno: E ella costei quella Jezabele?	37 And the flesh of Jezebel will be like dung upon the face of the earth, in the field of Jezreel, so that those who pass by may say: Is this that same Jezebel?’ ”
