Psalms 48

DOUAI-RHEIMS	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 A psalm of a canticle, for the sons of Core, on the second day of the week.	1 Cântico. Salmo dos filhos de Coré. Grande é o Senhor e digno de todo louvor, na cidade de nosso Deus. O seu monte santo,
2 Great is the Lord, and exceedingly to be praised in the city of our God, in his holy mountain.	2 colina magnífica, é uma alegria para toda a terra. O lado norte do monte Sião é a cidade do grande rei.
3 With the joy of the whole earth is mount Sion founded, on the sides of the north, the city of the great king.	3 Deus se mostrou em seus palácios um baluarte seguro.
4 In her houses shall God be known, when he shall protect her.	4 Eis que se unem os reis para atacar juntamente.
5 For behold the kings of the earth assembled themselves: they gathered together.	5 Apenas a vêem, atônitos de medo e estupor, fogem.
6 So they saw, and they wondered, they were troubled, they were moved:	6 Aí o terror se apodera deles, uma angústia como a de mulher em parto,
7 trembling took hold of them. There were pains as of a woman in labour.	7 ou como quando o vento do oriente despedaça as naus de Társis.
8 With a vehement wind thou shalt break in pieces the ships of Tharsis.	8 Como nos contaram, assim o vimos na cidade do Senhor dos exércitos, na cidade de nosso Deus; Deus a sustenta eternamente!
9 As we have heard, so have we seen, in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God hath founded it for ever.	9 Ó Deus, relembremos a vossa misericórdia no interior de vosso templo.
10 We have received thy mercy, O God, in the midst of thy temple.	10 Como o vosso nome, ó Deus, assim vosso louvor chega até os confins do mundo. Vossa mão direita está cheia de justiça.
11 According to thy name, O God, so also is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of justice.	11 Que o monte Sião se alegre. Que as cidades de Judá exultem, à vista de vossos juízos!
12 Let mount Sion rejoice, and the daughters of Juda be glad; because of thy judgments, O Lord.	12 Relanceai o olhar sobre Sião, dai-lhe a volta, contai suas torres,
13 Surround Sion, and encompass her: tell ye in her towers.	13 considerai suas fortificações, examinai seus palácios, para narrardes às gerações futuras:
14 Set your hearts on her strength; and distribute her houses, that ye may relate it in another generation.	14 como Deus é grande, nosso Deus dos séculos eternos; é ele o nosso guia.
15 For this is God, our God unto eternity, and for ever and ever: he shall rule us for evermore.
