DIODATI	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Orazione di Davide O SIGNORE, inchina l’orecchio tuo, e rispondimi; Perciocchè io sono afflitto e misero.	1 [Prayer Of David] Listen to me, Yahweh, answer me, for I am poor and needy.
2 Guarda l’anima mia; perciocchè io mi studio a pietà; O tu, Dio mio, salva il tuo servitore che si confida in te.	2 Guard me, for I am faithful, save your servant who relies on you. You are my God,
3 O Signore, abbi pietà di me; Perciocchè io grido a te tuttodì.	3 take pity on me, Lord, for to you I cry al the day.
4 Rallegra l’anima del tuo servitore; Perciocchè io levo l’anima mia a te, o Signore.	4 Fil your servant's heart with joy, Lord, for to you I raise up my heart.
5 Perciocchè tu, Signore, sei buono e perdonatore; E di gran benignità inverso tutti quelli che t’invocano.	5 Lord, you are kind and forgiving, rich in faithful love for al who cal upon you.
6 O Signore, porgi gli orecchi alla mia orazione; E attendi al grido delle mie supplicazioni.	6 Yahweh, hear my prayer, listen to the sound of my pleading.
7 Io t’invoco nel giorno della mia distretta; Perciocchè tu mi risponderai	7 In my day of distress I cal upon you, because you answer me, Lord;
8 Non vi è niuno pari a te fra gl’iddii, o Signore; E non vi sono alcune opere pari alle tue.	8 among the gods there is none to compare with you, no great deeds to compare with yours.
9 Tutte le genti le quali tu hai fatte, verranno, E adoreranno nel tuo cospetto, o Signore; E glorificheranno il tuo Nome.	9 Al nations wil come and adore you, Lord, and give glory to your name.
10 Perciocchè tu sei grande, e facitore di maraviglie; Tu solo sei Dio.	10 For you are great and do marvel ous deeds, you, God, and none other.
11 O Signore, insegnami la tua via, E fa’ che io cammini nella tua verità; Unisci il mio cuore al timor del tuo nome.	11 Teach me, Yahweh, your ways, that I may not stray from your loyalty; let my heart's one aim be tofear your name.
12 Io ti celebrerò, o Signore Iddio mio, con tutto il mio cuore; E glorificherò il tuo Nome in perpetuo.	12 I thank you with al my heart, Lord my God, I wil glorify your name for ever,
13 Perciocchè la tua benignità è grande sopra me; E tu hai riscossa l’anima mia dal fondo del sepolcro.	13 for your faithful love for me is so great that you have rescued me from the depths of Sheol.
14 O Dio, uomini superbi si son levati contro a me; Ed una raunanza di violenti, I quali non ti pongono davanti agli occhi loro, Cercano l’anima mia.	14 Arrogant men, God, are rising up against me, a brutal gang is after my life, in their scheme of thingsyou have no place.
15 Ma tu, Signore, sei l’Iddio misericordioso e pietoso, Lento all’ira, e di gran benignità e verità.	15 But you, Lord, God of tenderness and mercy, slow to anger, rich in faithful love and loyalty,
16 Volgi la tua faccia verso me, ed abbi pietà di me; Da’ la tua forza al tuo servitore, E salva il figliuolo della tua servente.	16 turn to me and pity me. Give to your servant your strength, to the child of your servant your savinghelp,
17 Opera inverso me qualche miracolo in bene, Sì che quelli che mi odiano lo veggano, e sieno confusi; Perciocchè tu, Signore, mi avrai aiutato, e mi avrai consolato	17 give me a sign of your kindness.
	18 My enemies wil see to their shame that you, Yahweh, help and console me.
