1 Salmo di Davide, dato al capo de’ Musici O DIO, ascolta la mia voce, mentre io fo la mia orazione; Guarda la vita mia dallo spavento del nemico.	1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from dread of the enemy,
2 Nascondimi dal consiglio de’ maligni, E dalla turba degli operatori d’iniquità;	2 hide me from the secret plots of the wicked, from the scheming of evildoers,
3 I quali hanno aguzzata la lor lingua come una spada; E in luogo di saette, hanno tratte parole amare;	3 who whet their tongues like swords, who aim bitter words like arrows,
4 Per saettar l’uomo intiero in luoghi nascosti; Di subito improvviso lo saettano, e non hanno timore alcuno.	4 shooting from ambush at the blameless, shooting at him suddenly and without fear.
5 Fermano fra loro pensieri malvagi; Divisano di tender di nascosto lacci, Dicono: Chi li vedrà?	5 They hold fast to their evil purpose; they talk of laying snares secretly, thinking, "Who can see us?
6 Investigano malizie; ricercano tutto ciò che si può investigare; E quanto può l’interior dell’uomo, ed un cuor cupo	6 Who can search out our crimes? We have thought out a cunningly conceived plot." For the inward mind and heart of a man are deep!
7 Ma Iddio li saetterà; Le lor ferite saranno come di saetta subitanea.	7 But God will shoot his arrow at them; they will be wounded suddenly.
8 E le lor lingue saranno traboccate sopra loro; Chiunque li vedrà fuggirà.	8 Because of their tongue he will bring them to ruin; all who see them will wag their heads.
9 E tutti gli uomini temeranno, E racconteranno l’opera di Dio; E considereranno quello ch’egli avrà fatto.	9 Then all men will fear; they will tell what God has wrought, and ponder what he has done.
10 Il giusto si rallegrerà nel Signore, e spererà in lui; E tutti quelli che son diritti di cuore, si glorieranno	10 Let the righteous rejoice in the LORD, and take refuge in him! Let all the upright in heart glory!
