EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 ¡Dios vengador de las injusticias, Señor, Dios justiciero, manifiéstate!	1 LORD, avenging God, avenging God, shine forth!
2 ¡Levántate, Juez de la tierra, dales su merecido a los soberbios!	2 Rise up, judge of the earth; give the proud what they deserve.
3 ¿Hasta cuándo triunfarán, Señor, hasta cuando triunfarán los malvados?	3 How long, LORD, shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked glory?
4 ¿Hasta cuando hablarán con arrogancia y se jactarán los malhechores?	4 How long will they mouth haughty speeches, go on boasting, all these evildoers?
5 Ellos pisotean a tu pueblo, Señor, y oprimen a tu herencia;	5 They crush your people, LORD, torment your very own.
6 matan a la viuda y al extranjero, asesinan a los huérfanos;	6 They kill the widow and alien; the fatherless they murder.
7 y exclaman: «El Señor no lo ve, no se da cuenta el Dios de Jacob».	7 They say, "The LORD does not see; the God of Jacob takes no notice."
8 ¡Entiendan, los más necios del pueblo! y ustedes, insensatos, ¿cuándo recapacitarán?	8 Understand, you stupid people! You fools, when will you be wise?
9 El que hizo el oído, ¿no va a escuchar? El que formó los ojos, ¿no va a ver?	9 Does the one who shaped the ear not hear? The one who formed the eye not see?
10 ¿Dejará de castigar el que educa a las naciones y da a los hombres el conocimiento?	10 Does the one who guides nations not rebuke? The one who teaches humans not have knowledge?
11 ¡El Señor conoce los planes de los hombres y sabe muy bien que son vanos!	11 The LORD does know human plans; they are only puffs of air.
12 Feliz el que es educado por ti, Señor, aquel a quien instruyes con tu ley,	12 Happy those whom you guide, LORD, whom you teach by your instruction.
13 para darle un descanso después de la adversidad, mientras se cava una fosa para el malvado.	13 You give them rest from evil days, while a pit is being dug for the wicked.
14 Porque el Señor no abandona a su pueblo ni deja desamparada a su herencia:	14 You, LORD, will not forsake your people, nor abandon your very own.
15 la justicia volverá a los tribunales y los rectos de corazón la seguirán.	15 Judgment shall again be just, and all the upright of heart will follow it.
16 ¿Quién se pondrá a mi favor contra los impíos? ¿Quién estará a mi lado contra los malhechores?	16 Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand up for me against evildoers?
17 Si el Señor no me hubiera ayudado, ya estaría habitando en la región del silencio.	17 If the LORD were not my help, I would long have been silent in the grave.
18 Cuando pienso que voy a resbalar, tu misericordia, Señor, me sostiene;	18 When I say, "My foot is slipping," your love, LORD, holds me up.
19 cuando estoy cargado de preocupaciones, tus consuelos me llenan de alegría.	19 When cares increase within me, your comfort gives me joy.
20 ¿Podrá aliarse contigo un tribunal inicuo, que comete injusticias en nombre de la ley?	20 Can unjust judges be your allies, those who create burdens in the name of law,
21 Ellos atentan contra la vida de los justos y condenan a muerte al inocente.	21 Those who conspire against the just and condemn the innocent to death?
22 Pero el Señor es mi fortaleza, mi Dios es la Roca en que me refugio:	22 No, the LORD is my secure height, my God, the rock where I find refuge,
23 él les devolverá a su misma iniquidad y los destruirá por su malicia, ¡El Señor, nuestro Dios, los destruirá!	23 Who will turn back their evil upon them and destroy them for their wickedness. Surely the LORD our God will destroy them!
