EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Amo al Señor, porque él escucha el clamor de mi súplica,	1 I love the LORD, who listened to my voice in supplication,
2 porque inclina su oído hacia mí, cuando yo lo invoco.	2 Who turned an ear to me on the day I called.
3 Los lazos de la muerte me envolvieron, me alcanzaron las redes del Abismo, caí en la angustia y la tristeza;	3 I was caught by the cords of death; the snares of Sheol had seized me; I felt agony and dread.
4 entonces invoqué al Señor: «¡Por favor, sálvame la vida!».	4 Then I called on the name of the LORD, "O LORD, save my life!"
5 El Señor es justo y bondadoso, nuestro Dios es compasivo;	5 Gracious is the LORD and just; yes, our God is merciful.
6 el Señor protege a los sencillos: yo estaba en la miseria y me salvó.	6 The LORD protects the simple; I was helpless, but God saved me.
7 Alma mía, recobra la calma, porque el Señor ha sido bueno contigo.	7 Return, my soul, to your rest; the LORD has been good to you.
8 El libró mi vida de la muerte, mis ojos de las lágrimas y mis pies de la caída.	8 For my soul has been freed from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.
9 Yo caminaré en la presencia del Señor, en la tierra de los vivientes.	9 I shall walk before the LORD in the land of the living.
10 Tenía confianza, incluso cuando dije: «¡Qué grande es mi desgracia!».	10 I kept faith, even when I said, "I am greatly afflicted!"
11 Yo, que en mi turbación llegué a decir: «¡Los hombres son todos mentirosos!».	11 I said in my alarm, "No one can be trusted!"
12 ¿Con qué pagaré al Señor todo el bien que me hizo?	12 How can I repay the LORD for all the good done for me?
13 Alzaré la copa de la salvación e invocaré el nombre del Señor.	13 I will raise the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD.
14 Cumpliré mis votos al Señor, en presencia de todo su pueblo.	14 I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people.
15 ¡Qué penosa es para el Señor la muerte de sus amigos!	15 Too costly in the eyes of the LORD is the death of his faithful.
16 Yo, Señor, soy tu servidor, tu servidor, lo mismo que mi madre: por eso rompiste mis cadenas.	16 LORD, I am your servant, your servant, the child of your maidservant; you have loosed my bonds.
17 Te ofreceré un sacrificio de alabanza, e invocaré el nombre del Señor.	17 I will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the LORD.
18 Cumpliré mis votos al Señor, en presencia de todo su pueblo,	18 I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people,
19 en los atrios de la Casa del Señor, en medio de ti, Jerusalén. ¡Aleluya!	19 In the courts of the house of the LORD, in your midst, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah!
