1 L’Esprit dit clairement que dans les derniers temps certains laisseront la foi, faisant confiance à des esprits trompeurs et des doctrines soufflées par les démons.	1 The Spirit has explicitly said that during the last times some wil desert the faith and pay attention todeceitful spirits and doctrines that come from devils,
2 On verra des prêcheurs de mensonge, des hypocrites dont la conscience est marquée au fer rouge.	2 seduced by the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are branded as though with a red-hot iron:
3 Ces gens interdisent le mariage et veulent qu’on s’abstienne d’aliments créés par Dieu pour qu’on en use, et qu’on lui en rende grâces. Ainsi en est-il pour les croyants, qui savent la vérité.	3 they forbid marriage and prohibit foods which God created to be accepted with thanksgiving by all whobelieve and who know the truth.
4 Car tout ce que Dieu a créé est bon, et rien n’est à rejeter dans de ce qu’on prend avec action de grâces:	4 Everything God has created is good, and no food is to be rejected, provided it is received withthanksgiving:
5 la parole de Dieu et la prière l’ont sanctifié	5 the word of God and prayer make it holy.
6 Expose tout cela aux frères, tu seras un bon serviteur du Christ Jésus, nourri des paroles de la foi et de la saine doctrine que tu as reçue.	6 If you put al this to the brothers, you wil be a good servant of Christ Jesus and show that you havereal y digested the teaching of the faith and the good doctrine which you have always fol owed.
7 Laisse de côté les fables indignes et les contes de bonne femme, et par contre exerce en toi l’esprit religieux.	7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales. Train yourself for religion.
8 L’ascèse corporelle n’a qu’une utilité très relative; par contre l’esprit religieux est utile sur tous les plans: il est récompensé dans la vie présente et dans l’autre vie.	8 Physical exercise is useful enough, but the usefulness of religion is unlimited, since it holds out promiseboth for life here and now and for the life to come;
9 Voici une chose sûre et qui ne trompe pas:	9 that is a saying that you can rely on and nobody should doubt it.
10 nous nous donnons de la peine et nous luttons parce que notre espérance est dans le Dieu vivant, le Sauveur de tous les humains, et particulièrement des croyants.	10 I mean that the point of al our toiling and battling is that we have put our trust in the living God and heis the Saviour of the whole human race but particularly of al believers.
11 Redis et enseigne toutes ces choses.	11 This is what you are to instruct and teach.
12 Que personne ne te méprise pour un manque de maturité. Sois un modèle pour les croyants dans tes paroles, ta charité, ta façon de vivre, ta foi, ta vie sans faute.	12 Let no one disregard you because you are young, but be an example to al the believers in the way youspeak and behave, and in your love, your faith and your purity.
13 En attendant que je vienne, consacre ton temps à l’étude, à la prédication, à l’enseignement.	13 Until I arrive, devote yourself to reading to the people, encouraging and teaching.
14 Ne laisse pas dormir le charisme qui t’a été donné par une intervention de prophète, avec l’imposition des mains de tous les anciens.	14 You have in you a spiritual gift which was given to you when the prophets spoke and the body of elderslaid their hands on you; do not neglect it.
15 Voilà donc tes occupations et comment tu dois te situer, et ainsi tous seront témoins de tes progrès.	15 Let this be your care and your occupation, and everyone wil be able to see your progress.
16 Veille sur toi-même et sur ton enseignement, et continue sans te lasser. C’est ainsi que tu te sauveras, toi et ceux qui t’écoutent.	16 Be conscientious about what you do and what you teach; persevere in this, and in this way you wilsave both yourself and those who listen to you.
