3 Ne dopušta Jahve da gladuje duša pravednika, ali odbija pohlepu opakih.	3 Yahweh does not let the upright go hungry, but he thwarts the greed of the wicked.
4 Lijena ruka osiromašuje čovjeka, a marljiva ga obogaćuje.	4 A slack hand brings poverty, but the hand of the diligent brings wealth.
5 Tko sabira ljeti, razuman je sin, a tko hrče o žetvi, navlači sramotu.	5 Reaping at harvest-time is the mark of the prudent, sleeping at harvest-time is the sign of theworthless.
6 Blagoslovi su nad glavom pravedniku, a usta opakih kriju nasilje.	6 Blessings are on the head of the upright, but the mouth of the godless is a cover for violence.
7 Pravednikov je spomen blagoslovljen, a opakom se ime proklinje.	7 The upright is remembered with blessings, the name of the wicked rots away.
8 Tko je mudra srca, prima zapovijedi, dok brbljava luda propada.	8 The wise of heart takes orders, but a gabbling fool heads for ruin.
9 Tko nedužno živi, hodi bez straha, a tko ide krivim putovima, poznat će se.	9 Anyone whose ways are honourable walks secure, but whoever fol ows crooked ways is soonunmasked.
10 Tko žmirka okom, zadaje tugu, a tko ludo zbori, propada.	10 A wink of the eye brings trouble, a bold rebuke brings peace.
11 Pravednikova su usta izvor života, a opakomu usta kriju nasilje.	11 The mouth of the upright is a life-giving fountain, but the mouth of the godless is a cover for violence.
12 Mržnja izaziva svađu, a ljubav pokriva sve pogreške.	12 Hatred provokes disputes, but love excuses al offences.
13 Na usnama razumnoga nalazi se mudrost, a batina je za leđa nerazumna čovjeka.	13 On the lips of the discerning is found wisdom, on the back of a fool, the stick.
14 Mudri kriju znanje, a luđakova su usta blizu propasti.	14 Wise people store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool makes ruin imminent.
15 Blago je bogatomu tvrdi grad, a ubogima je propast njihovo siromaštvo.	15 The wealth of the rich is their stronghold, poverty is the undoing of the weak.
16 Pravednik prirađuje za život, a opaki prirađuje za grijeh.	16 The wage of the upright affords life, but sin is al the wicked earns.
17 Tko se naputka drži, na putu je života, a zabluđuje tko se na ukor ne osvrće.	17 Whoever abides by discipline, walks towards life, whoever ignores correction goes astray.
18 Lažljive usne kriju mržnju, a tko klevetu širi, bezuman je!	18 Liars' lips are a cover for hatred, whoever utters slander is a fool.
19 Obilje riječi ne biva bez grijeha, a tko zauzdava svoj jezik, razuman je.	19 A flood of words is never without fault; whoever controls the lips is wise.
20 Pravednikov je jezik odabrano srebro, a razum opakoga malo vrijedi.	20 The tongue of the upright is purest silver, the heart of the wicked is of trumpery value.
21 Pravednikove su usne hrana mnogima, a luđaci umiru s ludosti svoje.	21 The lips of the upright nourish many peoples, but fools die for want of sense.
22 Gospodnji blagoslov obogaćuje, i ne prati ga nikakva muka.	22 The blessing of Yahweh is what brings riches, to this, hard toil has nothing to add.
23 Bezumniku je radost učiniti sramotno djelo, a razumnu čovjeku biti mudar.	23 A fool takes pleasure in doing wrong, the intel igent in cultivating wisdom.
24 Čega se opaki boji, ono će ga stići, a pravednička se želja ispunjava.	24 What the wicked fears overtakes him, what the upright desires comes to him as a present.
25 Kad oluja prohuja, opakoga nestane, a pravednik ima temelj vječni.	25 When the storm is over, the wicked is no more, but the upright stands firm for ever.
26 Kakav je ocat zubima i dim očima, takav je ljenivac onima koji ga šalju.	26 As vinegar to the teeth, smoke to the eyes, so the sluggard to the one who sends him.
27 Strah Gospodnji umnaža dane, a opakima se prekraćuju godine.	27 The fear of Yahweh adds length to life, the years of the wicked wil be cut short.
28 Pravedničko je ufanje puno radosti, a opakima je nada uprazno.	28 The hope of the upright is joy, the expectations of the wicked come to nothing.
29 Gospodnji je put okrilje bezazlenu, a propast onima koji čine zlo.	29 The way of Yahweh is a rampart for the honest, for evil-doers nothing but ruin.
30 Pravednik se neće nikad pokolebati, a opakih će nestati s lica zemlje.	30 The upright wil never have to give way, but the land wil offer no home for the wicked.
31 Pravednikova usta rađaju mudrošću, a opak jezik čupa se s korijenom.	31 The mouth of the upright utters wisdom, the tongue that deceives wil be cut off.
32 Pravednikove usne znaju što je milo, dok usta opakih poznaju zloću.	32 The lips of the upright know about kindness, the mouth of the wicked about deceit.
