In finem, in laudibus. Psalmus Asaph, canticum ad Assyrios. | 1 [For the choirmaster Tune: 'Do not destroy' Psalm Of Asaph Song] We give thanks to you, God, wegive thanks to you, as we cal upon your name, as we recount your wonders. |
Notus in Judæa Deus ; in Israël magnum nomen ejus. | 2 'At the appointed time I myself shal dispense justice. |
Et factus est in pace locus ejus, et habitatio ejus in Sion. | 3 The earth quakes and al its inhabitants; it is I who hold its pil ars firm.Pause |
Ibi confregit potentias arcuum, scutum, gladium, et bellum. | 4 'I said to the boastful, "Do not boast!" to the wicked, "Do not flaunt your strength! |
Illuminans tu mirabiliter a montibus æternis ; | 5 Do not flaunt your strength so proudly, do not talk with that arrogant stance." ' |
turbati sunt omnes insipientes corde. Dormierunt somnum suum, et nihil invenerunt omnes viri divitiarum in manibus suis. | 6 No longer from east to west, no longer in the mountainous desert, |
Ab increpatione tua, Deus Jacob, dormitaverunt qui ascenderunt equos. | 7 is God judging in uprightness, bringing some down, raising others. |
Tu terribilis es ; et quis resistet tibi ? ex tunc ira tua. | 8 Yahweh is holding a cup fil ed with a heady blend of wine; he wil pour it, they wil drink it to the dregs, al the wicked on earth wil drink it. |
De cælo auditum fecisti judicium : terra tremuit et quievit | 9 But I shal speak out for ever, shal make music for the God of Jacob. |
cum exsurgeret in judicium Deus, ut salvos faceret omnes mansuetos terræ. | 10 I shal break down al the strength of the wicked, and the strength of the upright will rise high. |
