1 Cantico de' gradi. Beati tutti che temono il Signore, li quali vanno nelle vie sue.	1 Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
2 Per che mangerai le fatiche delle tue mani; iu sei beato, e ti sarà bene.	2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep.
3 La mogliere tua sarà come vite abbondante, nelli lati della casa tua. Gli figliuoli tuoi (sono) come piante novelle di olivari, intorno alla mensa tua.	3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
4 Ecco che a tale modo sarà benedetto l' uomo che teme il Signore.	4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
5 A te benedica il Signore di Sion; possi vedere li beni di Ierusalem in tutti li giorni della vita tua.	5 Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.
6 E possi vedere li figliuoli delli figliuoli tuoi, e la pace sopra Israel.
