2 Grazia e pace a voi da Dio, nostro Padre, e dal Signore Gesù Cristo.	2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Benedetto Dio e Padre del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, il quale nei cieli ci ha colmati di ogni sorta di benedizione spirituale in Cristo.	3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavens, in Christ,
4 Egli ci elesse in lui prima della creazione del mondo, perché fossimo santi e irreprensibili davanti a lui nell'amore,	4 just as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy and immaculate in his sight, in charity.
5 predestinandoci ad essere suoi figli adottivi, tramite Gesù Cristo, secondo il benevolo disegno della sua volontà,	5 He has predestined us to adoption as sons, through Jesus Christ, in himself, according to the purpose of his will,
6 a lode dello splendore della sua grazia, con la quale ci ha gratificati nel Diletto.	6 for the praise of the glory of his grace, with which he has gifted us in his beloved Son.
7 In lui, mediante il suo sangue, otteniamo la redenzione, il perdono dei peccati, secondo la ricchezza della sua grazia,	7 In him, we have redemption through his blood: the remission of sins in accord with the riches of his grace,
8 che si è generosamente riversata in noi con ogni sorta di sapienza e intelligenza.	8 which is superabundant in us, with all wisdom and prudence.
9 Egli ci ha manifestato il mistero della sua volontà secondo il suo benevolo disegno che aveva in lui formato,	9 So does he make known to us the mystery of his will, which he has set forth in Christ, in a manner well-pleasing to him,
10 per realizzarlo nella pienezza dei tempi: accentrare nel Cristo tutti gli esseri, quelli celesti e quelli terrestri.	10 in the dispensation of the fullness of time, so as to renew in Christ everything that exists through him in heaven and on earth.
11 In lui poi siamo stati scelti, essendo stati predestinati secondo il disegno di colui che tutto compie in conformità del suo volere,	11 In him, we too are called to our portion, having been predestined in accord with the plan of the One who accomplishes all things by the counsel of his will.
12 per essere noi, i primi che hanno sperato in Cristo, a lode della sua gloria.	12 So may we be, to the praise of his glory, we who have hoped beforehand in Christ.
13 In lui anche voi, dopo avere udita la parola della verità, il vangelo della vostra salvezza, e aver anche creduto, siete stati segnati con lo Spirito Santo che fu promesso;	13 In him, you also, after you heard and believed the Word of truth, which is the Gospel of your salvation, were sealed with the Holy Spirit of the Promise.
14 questi è l'anticipo della nostra eredità, per il riscatto della sua proprietà, a lode della sua gloria.	14 He is the pledge of our inheritance, unto the acquisition of redemption, to the praise of his glory.
15 Per questo anch'io, avendo udito parlare della vostra fede nel Signore Gesù e del vostro amore per tutti i santi,	15 Because of this, and hearing of your faith that is in the Lord Jesus, and of your love toward all the saints,
16 non cesso di ringraziare per voi ricordandovi nelle mie preghiere,	16 I have not ceased giving thanks for you, calling you to mind in my prayers,
17 affinché il Dio del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, il Padre della gloria, vi doni uno spirito di sapienza e di rivelazione per meglio conoscerlo;	17 so that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give a spirit of wisdom and of revelation to you, in knowledge of him.
18 illumini gli occhi della mente, perché possiate comprendere quale è la speranza della sua chiamata, quale la ricchezza della sua gloriosa eredità tra i santi,	18 May the eyes of your heart be illuminated, so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and the wealth of the glory of his inheritance with the saints,
19 e quale la straordinaria grandezza della potenza verso di noi che crediamo, come attesta l'efficacia della sua forza irresistibile,	19 and the preeminent magnitude of his virtue toward us, toward we who believe in accord with the work of his powerful virtue,
20 che dispiegò nel Cristo risuscitandolo dai morti e insediandolo alla sua destra nella sommità dei cieli,	20 which he wrought in Christ, raising him from the dead and establishing him at his right hand in the heavens,
21 al di sopra di ogni principio, autorità, potenza, signoria e di ogni altro nome che viene nominato non solo in questo secolo, ma anche in quello avvenire.	21 above every principality and power and virtue and dominion, and above every name that is given, not only in this age, but even in the future age.
22 Ha posto tutto sotto i suoi piedi e lo ha costituito, al di sopra di tutto, capo della chiesa,	22 And he has subjected all things under his feet, and he has made him the head over the entire Church,
23 che è il corpo, la pienezza di lui che tutto, sotto ogni aspetto, riempie.	23 which is his body and which is the fullness of him who accomplishes everything in everyone.
