1 - Una risposta dolce calma l'ira e una parola aspra desta la collera.	1 A mild answer calms wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
2 La lingua dei saggi rimbellisce la scienza e la bocca degli sciocchi proferisce scempiaggini.	2 The tongue of the wise pours out knowledge, but the mouth of fools spurts forth folly.
3 In ogni luogo gli occhi di Dioosservano i buoni ed i cattivi.	3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.
4 La lingua soave è l'albero della vita, ma la lingua senza freno mette in costernazione lo spirito.	4 A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse one crushes the spirit.
5 Lo stolto deride gli ammonimenti di suo padre, ma chi fa tesoro delle correzioni diventerà più accorto. In somma giustizia, somma virtù; ma i progetti degli empi saranno abbattuti.	5 The fool spurns his father's admonition, but prudent is he who heeds reproof.
6 La casa del giusto ha un fornimento copioso, e nei proventi dell'empio c'è lo scompiglio.	6 In the house of the just there are ample resources, but the earnings of the wicked are in turmoil.
7 Le labbra dei saggi spanderanno la scienza, ma il cuore degli stolti, non farà il simile.	7 The lips of the wise disseminate knowledge, but the heart of fools is perverted.
8 Le vittime degli empi sono in abominio al Signore e i voti dei buoni gli sono graditi.	8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
9 La via dell'empio è in abominio a Dio e il seguace della giustizia egli ama.	9 The way of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD, but he loves the man who pursues virtue.
10 Brutta lezione toccherà a chi lascia la via della vita; chi odia la correzione morrà.	10 Severe punishment is in store for the man who goes astray; he who hates reproof will die.
11 L'Inferno e la Perdizione sono nella presenza di Dio; quanto più i cuori dei figli degli uomini?	11 The nether world and the abyss lie open before the LORD; how much more the hearts of men!
12 Lo schernitore non ama chi lo riprende e dai saggi non ci va.	12 The senseless man loves not to be reproved; to wise men he will not go.
13 Cuore allegro rischiara la faccia e la tristezza dell'animo abbatte lo spirito.	13 A glad heart lights up the face, but by mental anguish the spirit is broken.
14 Il cuor dell'intelligente cerca la scienza, e la bocca degli stolti si pasce di fatuità.	14 The mind of the intelligent man seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on folly.
15 Tutti i giorni del povero sono brutti; però un animo tranquillo è come un banchetto perpetuo.	15 Every day is miserable for the depressed, but a lighthearted man has a continual feast.
16 Meglio il poco col timor di Dio, che grandi tesori e che non saziano.	16 Better a little with fear of the LORD than a great fortune with anxiety.
17 Meglio essere invitati ad un pasto di legumi, dove regna l'amore, che ad un pranzo di carne di vitello, dove c'è odio.	17 Better a dish of herbs where love is than a fatted ox and hatred with it.
18 L'uomo iracondo suscita le risse, ed il longanime acquieta quelle accese.	18 An ill-tempered man stirs up strife, but a patient man allays discord.
19 La via del pigro è come una siepe di spine, e il cammino dei buoni è senza inciampi.	19 The way of the sluggard is hemmed in as with thorns, but the path of the diligent is a highway.
20 Il figlio saggio rallegra il padre, e l'uomo stolto disprezza sua madre.	20 A wise son makes his father glad, but a fool of a man despises his mother.
21 La follia è gioia per l'insensato, ma l'uomo prudente va dritto al suo cammino.	21 Folly is joy to the senseless man, but the man of understanding goes the straight way.
22 I disegni falliscono dove manca il consiglio; e dove abbondano i consiglieri riescono.	22 Plans fail when there is no counsel, but they succeed when counselors are many.
23 L'uomo gode nel sentenziare di propria bocca, e un discorso opportuno è cosa ottima.	23 There is joy for a man in his utterance; a word in season, how good it is!
24 Il sentiero della vita è al disopra [per il] savioper evitare l'Inferno che è giù in fondo.	24 The path of life leads the prudent man upward, that he may avoid the nether world below.
25 Il Signore abbatterà la casa dei superbie fisserà i termini della vedova.	25 The LORD overturns the house of the proud, but he preserves intact the widow's landmark.
26 Abominio di Dio sono i pensieri cattivi, e il parlar casto è approvato da Lui come il più bello.	26 The wicked man's schemes are an abomination to the LORD, but the pure speak what is pleasing to him.
27 Scompiglia la sua casa chi segue l'avarizia; chi invece odia i regali, vivrà. Per la misericordia e per la fede si purificano i peccati; e col timor del Signore ognuno evita il male.	27 He who is greedy of gain brings ruin on his own house, but he who hates bribes will live.
28 La mente del giusto medita l'obbedienza ed il labbro degli empi ribocca di malvagità.	28 The just man weighs well his utterance, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil.
29 Il Signore è lontano dai malvagi, ma esaudirà le preghiere dei giusti.	29 The LORD is far from the wicked, but the prayer of the just he hears.
30 Il lume degli occhi allieta l'animo, e la buona fama impingua le ossa.	30 A cheerful glance brings joy to the heart; good news invigorates the bones.
31 L'orecchio che dà ascolto ai salutari ammonimentidimorerà in mezzo ai saggi.	31 He who listens to salutary reproof will abide among the wise.
32 Chi rigetta la disciplina, disprezza l'anima sua; e chi è arrendevole alle correzioni ha senno.	32 He who rejects admonition despises his own soul, but he who heeds reproof gains understanding.
33 Timor del Signore, regola di sapienza e innanzi alla gloria va l'umiltà.	33 The fear of the LORD is training for wisdom, and humility goes before honors.
