Ephesians 2

1 And you were once dead in your sins and offenses,	1 Y a vosotros que estabais muertos en vuestros delitos y pecados,
2 in which you walked in times past, according to the age of this world, according to the prince of the power of this sky, the spirit who now works in the sons of distrust.	2 en los cuales vivisteis en otro tiempo según el proceder de este mundo, según el Príncipe del imperio del aire, el Espíritu que actúa en los rebeldes...
3 And we too were all conversant in these things, in times past, by the desires of our flesh, acting according to the will of the flesh and according to our own thoughts. And so we were, by nature, sons of wrath, even like the others.	3 entre ellos vivíamos también todos nosotros en otro tiempo en medio de las concupiscencias de nuestra carne, siguiendo las apetencias de la carne y de los malos pensamientos, destinados por naturaleza, como los demás, a la Cólera...
4 Yet still, God, who is rich in mercy, for the sake of his exceedingly great charity with which he loved us,	4 Pero Dios, rico en misericordia, por el grande amor con que nos amo,
5 even when we were dead in our sins, has enlivened us together in Christ, by whose grace you have been saved.	5 estando muertos a causa de nuestros delitos, nos vivificó juntamente con Cristo - por gracia habéis sido salvados -
6 And he has raised us up together, and he has caused us to sit down together in the heavens, in Christ Jesus,	6 y con él nos resucitó y nos hizo sentar en los cielos en Cristo Jesús,
7 so that he may display, in the ages soon to arrive, the abundant wealth of his grace, by his goodness toward us in Christ Jesus.	7 a fin de mostrar en los siglos venideros la sobreabundante riqueza de su gracia, por su bondad para con nosotros en Cristo Jesús.
8 For by grace, you have been saved through faith. And this is not of yourselves, for it is a gift of God.	8 Pues habéis sido salvados por la gracia mediante la fe; y esto no viene de vosotros, sino que es un don de Dios;
9 And this is not of works, so that no one may glory.	9 tampoco viene de las obras, para que nadie se gloríe.
10 For we are his handiwork, created in Christ Jesus for the good works which God has prepared and in which we should walk.	10 En efecto, hechura suya somos: creados en Cristo Jesús, en orden a las buenas obras que de antemano dispuso Dios que practicáramos.
11 Because of this, be mindful that, in times past, you were Gentiles in the flesh, and that you were called uncircumcised by those who are called circumcised in the flesh, something done by man,	11 Así que, recordad cómo en otro tiempo vosotros, los gentiles según la carne, llamados incircuncisos por la que se llama circuncisión - por una operación practicada en la carne -,
12 and that you were, in that time, without Christ, being foreign to the way of life of Israel, being visitors to the testament, having no hope of the promise, and being without God in this world.	12 estabais a la sazón lejos de Cristo, excluidos de la ciudadanía de Israel y extraños a las alianzas de la Promesa, sin esperanza y sin Dios en el mundo.
13 But now, in Christ Jesus, you, who were in times past far away, have been brought near by the blood of Christ.	13 Mas ahora, en Cristo Jesús, vosotros, los que en otro tiempo estabais lejos, habéis llegado a estar cerca por la sangre de Cristo.
14 For he is our peace. He made the two into one, by dissolving the intermediate wall of separation, of opposition, by his flesh,	14 Porque él es nuestra paz: el que de los dos pueblos hizo uno, derribando el muro que los separaba, la enemistad,
15 emptying the law of commandments by decree, so that he might join these two, in himself, into one new man, making peace	15 anulando en su carne la Ley de los mandamientos con sus preceptos, para crear en sí mismo, de los dos, un solo Hombre Nuevo, haciendo la paz,
16 and reconciling both to God, in one body, through the cross, destroying this opposition in himself.	16 y reconciliar con Dios a ambos en un solo Cuerpo, por medio de la cruz, dando en sí mismo muerte a la Enemistad.
17 And upon arriving, he evangelized peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near.	17 Vino a anunciar la paz: paz a vosotros que estabais lejos, y paz a los que estaban cerca.
18 For by him, we both have access, in the one Spirit, to the Father.	18 Pues por él, unos y otros tenemos libre acceso al Padre en un mismo Espíritu.
19 Now, therefore, you are no longer visitors and new arrivals. Instead, you are citizens among the saints in the household of God,	19 Así pues, ya no sois extraños ni forasteros, sino conciudadanos de los santos y familiares de Dios,
20 having been built upon the foundation of the Apostles and of the Prophets, with Jesus Christ himself as the preeminent cornerstone.	20 edificados sobre el cimiento de los apóstoles y profetas, siendo la piedra angular Cristo mismo,
21 In him, all that has been built is framed together, rising up into a holy temple in the Lord.	21 en quien toda edificación bien trabada se eleva hasta formar un templo santo en el Señor,
22 In him, you also have been built together into a habitation of God in the Spirit.	22 en quien también vosotros estáis siendo juntamente edificados, hasta ser morada de Dios en el Espíritu.
